Development
The idea of making a film came from a script that writer Kazushige Nojima wanted to make about Cloud and Tifa and thd kids. At the time of this idea, Visual Works was working on a Final Fantasy VII themed presentation and called in help from the Square Enix researcn and development team. Since Visual Works had helped Square in the past with The Spirits Within, the idea of moving forward with a film had begun.
Square Enix has put together a very talented team to help create this CG movie. With the help of Visual Works, who has helped with The Spirits Within. Since the movie is roughly a sequal to the original Final Fantasy VII, most of the original FFVII Staff are involved in the project, as well.
