Re-releases
After its initial release in 2001 for the PlayStation 2, Final Fantasy X has been re-released under a number of different platforms and titles, including:
Final Fantasy X [10] International released for the Playstation 2 on Jan. 1, 2002 only in Japan. The PAL and International version of the game includes an optional "Expert" mode of the Sphere Grid, battles with dark versions of the aeons and an airship fight with the superboss Penance. It also includes a bonus DVD called Beyond Final Fantasy which includes special interviews from the cast and developers. The Japanese release of Final Fantasy X International also includes a 14 minute video called, "Eternal Calm".
Final Fantasy X/X-2 Ultimate Box released for the Playstation 2 on Sep. 9, 2005 only in Japan. This was just a compilation of both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster released for the Playstation 3 and PS Vita on Dec. 16, 2013 in Japan and Mar. 18, 2014 in North America. The game was later released for Playstation 4 and Microsoft Windows Steam (PC) worldwide in 2016 and 2016 respectively.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster was a HD remaster of both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. The game obviously featured enhanced, high-definition graphics, however, many new additions were included:
- Graphical and musical revisions
- Story content previously only found on the Final Fantasy X International version
- New audio drama set a year after the events of Final Fantasy X-2
- Extra dresspheres and new minigames in Final Fantasy X-2
- New Creature Creator system in Final Fantasy X-2
- Extra dungeon called "Last Mission" for Final Fantasy X-2
