Mobius Final Fantasy (2015)

Mobius Final Fantasy is another free-to-play mobile RPG game published and developed by Square Enix for the Android and Apple iOS devices. It was released in Japan on June 4, 2015 (titled as Mevius Final Fantasy) and then worldwide on August 3, 2016. The game features turn-based combat, a job system, characters, locations, enemies and other common themes from the entire Final Fantasy franchise.

The battle system is tactics-focused and turn-based. Players are able to activate attacks by tapping on enemies to accumulate Elements, which are needed to use Abilities. A multiplayer option was added later, allowing up to four players to take on bosses.

The game is 'episodic' meaning that Square Enix releases new chapters as updates to further progress the story and keep players hooked. The Japan version of the game has already had five chapters released upon the worldwide version being released.

The game has already registered over three million players since release and Square Enix states that it has been one of their most successful mobile titles in 2015.

Prologue

Despair has cast a long, dark shadow across the land. The winds have stopped, the seas churn, and the earth rots. The people await for a hero to appear - the hero foretold in ancient prophecy. After a long journey across the Ether, castaways without pasts appear on the shores of Palamecia. One of them is destined to become the warrior of legend. You stand among them.
