They removed the backwards compatibility because it costed them too much money to maintain it; the way they had it built. Every system was being sold at a major loss, so they had to cut back the BC to make some profit. That's why it got removed. (And yes, they did explain it. You just had to go looking for it.)

I don't really mind the lack of BC for PS4 because (well i'm not everyone) i still have my PS3, PS2, and PS1.

Also, most gaming PCs completely outperform the Xbone. Excluding 'Modded comps' isn't really an excuse. Even normal sold PCs (that are 'top of the line') out perform it. Have you seen its specs? PS4 has better specs.

But anyway. Also last gen, I don't think PS3 or 360 are 'the same as a PC'. Not as bad as the Xbone, in any case.

Xbone requires that all discs be installed. Has to be online once per 24 hours. After the '10 family members' thing, you cannot give/share a copy with another friend, unless they pay the 'fee' (which.. is basically just buying the game.) and that 'fee' is the full price of the game. PC does this too.

Also, even with Xbox Live's digital shop, they never give discounts to any of their games. Or rarely do.

Granted, overall in the grand scheme of things, it's not that great of a deal, but as I said, those restrictions basically make it a PC. And not just metaphorically this time.
