All I have to say is "Wow". What a screwup. PR has some explaining to do... or do they? 360 is an offline device... but so is the ps4. I think xbox is done. What future can they have with an attitude like that representing their company/device? Apparantly microsoft is on a witch hunt to have the video removed from the web. Unfortunately for them, thats not going to happen.
I'm pretty sure XBox One will sell well regardless of its major flaws because never underestimate the power of fanboys and stupid clueless parents, I know it's a long shot but down the line it may turn out to be a solid console once, then again I have always been an overly optimistic guy.

I'd sooner buy a Wii U than a PS4. At least every game on it doesn't look like generic gray-colored crap. The games I'm seeing coming out for it actually make me slightly excited to play video games again. Anyhoo...

I don't consider Wii U to be next gen console at all, and unlike PS4, hell even Xbox One, as it has always been with Nintendo home consoles since N64 it won't have quality games to cover each and every genre, games that don't have Mario tittle in them that is. I'm sure Wii U will have fun 1st party games (50% of those exact same games each cycle in every sense of that word), not enough to win me over or even to consider it a rival to PS4.

Didnt mean to rag on nintendo, its a very good company and they have made some amazing RPG for the 3/ds, but its obvious that ps4 is the superior console. If your argument is based on better games, then you can just talk about PC and how it reins supreme over everything as it always has and always will, until the end of time.
As Ive mentioned before, I also do not consider the WiiU a next gen console in terms of hardware power especially against the powerhouse that is the PS4. But..generations are based on the chronological clusters of release, not graphical or technological power. People don't have to like this, but it's not what publishers and developers wanted. And when that happens, you get nil third party support.
The top devs/pubs were asking for a lot more power so that they could expand their games' horizons. Not touchscreens.
Having said all that, It never stopped me from buying one. I wuv my Nintendo. Their games esp the first party ones are STILL FUN AS HELL!! WOOOORRRDDD ;DDD Omg cant wait to get that DK:Tropical Freeze too :D:D:D

I just don't see a visible difference between this generation's graphics and the next gen's graphics. At least not anything to get overly excited about. I mean, I probably kinda just don't like video games anymore, but if I were to get behind a company still, it'd probably be Nintendo. It all depends on what you like. I still think Snes and N64 pawns everything else and PC pawns those, because it can emulate everything, including those upcoming consoles without any drms or restrictions. Not that I support this, but still shows PC will reign supreme forever. TV, controllers, as long as it's strong enough and they can very well be, if your wallet is fat enough.
Consider this: there are enough suckers in this world with disposable income and a salivating desire for [generic military shooter]. There will be plenty of people who see this as a convenient alternative to building a home theater personal computer. And there will be enough parents ignorant to the Kinect's ability to read, record and transmit anything their kid says or does while in range of its capable cross-hairs to Microsoft---for the purposes of [insert enigmatic, nefarious purpose here] (Note: This hasn't been made clear to us and I doubt it ever will be).
I'm sure Microsoft and the Xbox One will do just fine. It won't be getting any of my dollars but it will do just fine.

Yeah, that's the sad part of it. I'm getting a PS4 and a Wii U and a 3DS eventually. 3DS is first on my list, though as it is the cheapest right now. I'm really sad what happened with the Xbox One, but I do agree it will do fine despite me not wanting it to do fine.
With the restrictions on the Xbox One, it is basically a PC now. So my current opinion is to just upgrade your PC. I notice that I am primarily a PC gamer these days anyhow. But I do still use my PS3.

As long as it plays games and they look good so f**king what, as far as the weight the xbox kinect weighs rounding up to 2kg the old 360 is 3.8kg and the xbone is supposedly 3.5kg wtf people do your maths. Besides which call me old school but my xbox sits beside my tv 24/7 I don't cart it every where seriously what do you people do with your consoles take them to bed.
Which brings me to my final statement Microsoft were doing outstandingly well before xbox I'm sure they will survive if the don't make their quota on the xbox one, and like others said people are still going to buy it no matter how many haters hate. I will probably still get one maybe not straight away I like to wait for the package deals you know.
Imo I actually like all the connectivity aspects of it, my 360 was always connected to the internet anyway, yeah having to have the kinect hooked up is a bit of a pain but hey as a human race we used to be able to adapt ourselves to a situation that presented itself not the other way around.

Yeah, that's my thought as well. I'm not sad, per se, but extremely disappointed. I have allocated all the funds from my nextgen Xbox fund to building my own PC this year. I think the only console I'll buy this generation is the Wii U (next year). Even if I don't buy any new PC games, a newer computer will allow me to do more things than gaming, like video or music creation.
Inferior hardware aside, the Wii U, to me, is the perfect balance of consumer freedom and fun gaming (when those games come out). I cannot say the same about the new Sony/Microsoft systems. And I'll keep my 360 for as long as the Red Ring gods allow.

What urks me is that both of you simply look down on the XBone and the people that buy it. Sure the restrictions suck, but we still want the exclusives, we still enjoy the games, why does it matter if people buy it or not. Simply because neither of you can buy a used game or let your buddy borrow it (to some extent, you still have the 10 "family" members)? Or is it because you can't take it out in the middle of nowhere and play it. To be honest, I find that more people are mocking the XBone more out of principal than the restrictions actually effecting them.
What about all those poor people on nuclear subs? Did they think of them?
I can't currently hook my 360 up to my internet. It has no wireless access, and if I hooked it up to my wireless router, it'd make my wireless power go down to shit. Also, I don't want to spend whatever bill I have to pay just to have the internet on my stupid console. So if I had to have that all the time, yeah, it'd affect me, not to mention I don't like the idea of the kinect watching me all the ****ing time. And I don't want to spend 60 bucks on every damn game that comes out, unless it's a really good one. I suppose I could wait until the price comes down, but for some games it doesn't. I don't want to invest the full price in something that turns out to be a POS. Which is what most games are to me anymore anyway. Anyhoo...

No I don't think I am missing the point because when 360 slim and ps3 came out everyone said exactly the same thing that they are so similar to a pc which they pretty much are, besides the fact that you don't have quite the same amount of freedom as a pc to surf the internet on the 360S.

Technically with the innovation of internet cams and cams in phones and laptops these would be no different to the kinect if you did happen to leave off all the privacy and security functions. If they have the ability to do that on the kinect then they could and probably woudl do it through laptops and phones, how many of you leave computers and phones hooked to the internet?

And gaming unconnected can be achieved for 24hrs at a time so if you were so paranoid about it just unconnect while you are playing or have the xbox on, or you could just turn the bloody thing around their gonna have a lot of fun looking at a wall.

I'm more worried about how this is going to affect its games. People aren't happy about the XBO right now, they're pissed. Microsoft stocks actually fell a bit because of this, gamers are mad, fans are mad, devs are going to look at that and see ABANDON SHIP. Anybody not already locked into a contract with Microsoft isn't going to want to get into one, so any new exclusivity deals are going to probably be Sony's, people currently exclusive to Microsoft probably won't want to stay that way any longer than they have to, just because a lot of their target audience will not have bought the console on principle.

Companies follow through with all plans they publicly announce. Especially at E3. This is fact and nothing will change in the months leading up to the X-Box One's release in spite of the terrible press -- rather, Microsoft can't do anything to forestall their console's impending demise because the majority of complaints are software-related, and as we all know, unlike issues with hardware, issues with software cannot be fixed easily.
Sony was in a similar position last gen, but because they locked themselves into a business plan built on unbreakable promises made at E3, the PS3 was a bust from the start and met with no success throughout its lifetime.
