The government has banned ticket touting. This is simply more unacceptable government intervention to hinder the mechanisms of the free market - of course, they say it's to help the consumer. Ah, I was going to post up something I had written on ticket touts before but it's not saved on this computer. It was fairly long but only a few people seem to read long posts so maybe it doesn't really matter. In short, exchange only takes place if both parties benefit. Therefore, if a person is willing to pay double the amount it cost the tout to buy the ticket for then that's the free market at work - the buyer isn't being forced into the transaction - the value he/she places on the ticket is equal to what's value paid (indeed, the buyer may have been willing to pay an even higher price) and everyone is happy.

The government intervenes too much, economically speaking. If the party in charge were equivalent to America's Republican party then I'd be happier. Not because I support social authoritarianism, but because Bush's economic policies are better than what Labour, Conservative and the Lib Dems have to offer. BUT HEY, WHAT ABOUT THE TWIN DEFICITS!? LOL!

I had written something about that but it was too long and boring for you lot to read. Some other time, perhaps. And if there are enough requests. And by "enough" I'm referring to an arbitrary number of requests. That's right: arbitrary.

EDIT: Bush's economic policies aren't great and I wouldn't be happy with them in place, but I'd rather have them than economic policies proposed by the three biggest parties in the UK.
