The UK Budget was announced last Wednesday! Who wants to have a chat about that? No-one else? Fine. A solo effort it'll be then.

Brown's budget was fairly standard with many of the pre-general election goodies he gave out last year unsurprisingly not appearing this year. It's often been said the improvements in NHS service doesn't proportionally reflect the amount of money thrown at it. That and the debt problems some hospitals face. So instead money's going to be thrown at schools this year. If you want nationalized schools and healthcare then at least operate an internal market. That's what the Conservatives did and apparently that was ruining the NHS. Tony Blair said a vote for Labour would be a vote to save the NHS back in 1997. He spent the first term getting rid of the internal market and then phasing it back in. David Cameron did some good work at attacking the budget, but I saw him get owned in the Prime Minister's Questions just before but because it was Budget Day the PM's Questions got no mainstream media coverage. Seriously, didn't anyone else read about the Budget?

EDIT: Clocks go forward an hour. Even though I posted just after 1am on what I see as forum time, it's suddenly become 2am.
