A tried and true method for getting out of a slump. The Elle Woods Way.
Or you could listen to my Dad.Exercise.
"Exercising increases endorphins.
Endorphins make you happy.
Happy people don't kill themselves (she says "their husbands" but it's the same concept)."
All that said, it could be something dietary that is making you feel this way. If you have played The Sims 2, you know that some foods can make you feel differently. The same goes for in real life as well. The anti-stress diet talks about all kinds of foods that can make a person feel happier, calmer, etc."Pick yourself up by your bootstraps and overcome the obstacle."
But it could also be that you are putting yourself in these situations. If gaming doesn't help you anymore, try playing something less violent (like an addictive puzzle or platformer). If it is trouble with coworkers or friends; avoid the coworkers, make new friends. The amount of sleep you get each night can make a person feel in the dumps. Heck, even the color of clothing you wear has an effect on a person's mood.
What you need to do is take a look at your life, and decide what you can deal with and what you should change or even get rid of. Psychologists, psychiatrists, and religious leaders are some people who can help, but it really depends on what you decide to do. You are twenty-three now. You need to be the one who makes the decision, not someone else.
And if all that doesn't work, find someone who is willing to tell you this stuff to your face. Get them to grab you by your shoulders and shake you until the words get through.
