If you like "sim life" games, then I'd think you'd enjoy Animal Crossing well enough. Here's the experience in a nutshell if you're curious though. x3

I'll have to watch 'em all sometime. The molester priest didn't bother me too much, but he was pretty creepy.

I heard rumors that the new look Dante has is eerily similar to the guy who redesigned him... I sort of see it with the hair and the gangly build, though I wish I could find a better comparison picture. If that's the case, then maybe he's trying to do a little self-insert wish fulfillment?

Oh man... Maybe SE figured they could sell a separate artbook with all the concept sketches and such, and make even moar monies! I liked how Okami had an unlockable art gallery once you completed the game. That was really awesome. More games should do stuff like that.

I thought FF XIII was decent. I had to take a lot of breaks because there was so much action going on in the first half of the game, that it was a little much at times. I don't think it deserves all the heat it's getting, but I can also see where lots of people are coming from when they complain about it.

Yeah, he's been a member here at TFF for 10 years, and decided to call it quits (or at least take an extended leave). I still talk to him occasionally, and I'm sure he'll be back. They always come back.

Hahaha~! Yeah, I shot the first colossus right in the behind. xD Not sure why really, other than I'm childish and things like that amuse me. :3 My little cousins who were watching me play thought it was hilarious too, granted they were really young at the time, so...

Nah, I haven't played it, but I did read a bit about it in Gypsy's thread. Seems like it'd be hard, but rewarding at the same time.

Oh yeah? I have customization turned off, so all I see is the forum default on peoples' pages. Congrats on the new monitor! It must be a god-send to your eyeballs to have such crystal clarity.

Yeah, my collection is pretty sparse considering this is one of my hobbies, but I love reading up info on all kinds of games, so I'm at least a little knowledgeable about them. And I do miss a few titles: Animal Crossing (DS and Wii versions) and Chrono Trigger (DS) being the main ones. I got rid of Animal Crossing because it was becoming an addiction, as sad as that is to say. ^^; I just really liked the day-to-day life in that game! Writing letters to my animal buddies, planting flowers, getting new furniture for my home... It was all so innocently enjoyable~ As for Chrono Trigger, I don't remember the reason I got rid of that at all. :/ I have a ROM of it on my computer though, so not all is lost.

Haha... Yes. I was sooo hesitant to start emulating games, but the temptation was just too great!

Chris is freaking HUGE. I remember seeing him in trailers to RE5 and was like "geez, lay off the 'roids or something!" I think Capcom picked him over Leon because he has more of a rivalry thing with Wesker, right? I dunno. I'm not up to speed on my RE history. Wesker seems like a pretty badass antagonist though.

I haven't ever seen that Days of our Lives thing, but I gave it a watch. The molester priest dude is creepy. >< Leon's existential rant about how he values life while gunning down people was hilariously dark.

Comic Mischief - Depictions or dialogue involving slapstick or suggestive humor (definition from the ESRB website ^^)

But his cheesy one-liners are an endearing character trait!!!!! Nah, I totally hear ya on that. He does look awesome though. Have you seen his redesign for the upcoming DmC game? Lot's of people are...less than thrilled with his new look. /understatement I don't really have a stong opinion about the new design, other than he looks really skinny. Almost sickly, tbh.

Ah yes. Official guides. I have a couple of 'em, but they hardly seem to get much use. I do enjoy them for the art though. My Ocarina of Time guides were a wealth of beautiful character art. :3

Oh nice. $15 bucks isn't so much. I'll look up some more info later. ^^ The northern part of the US and the more mountainous regions seem to be pretty mild in the summertime, though the winter can get downright ridiculously cold... You can always put on more warm clothes though!

Well, since the founder has gone AWOL from the forums, let me welcome you to the club! Welcome to the Lazy-Good-for-Nothin's group! The only group on TFF where being inactive is a GOOD thing!

Haha~ I can imagine it would be funny. Even funnier if they ran around with an arrow poking out of their tail. xDD I laughed so hard when I shot an arrow into a Collosus' butt for the first time, and it stayed there. Not many games (especially in that time) would do something like that.

Enjoy your game! I'd love to know what you think of it when you get a chance. ^^

As of now, I have 43 physical copies of games, which consists mostly of DS and PS2 games. I do have a few more set aside ready for trade (maybe 5?), so yeah, I do occasionally trade games in when I feel I don't need any more playtime with them. It seems like a decent number, but at the same time, it feels so very little. Ah well. Quality over quantity!

Do you emulate games at all? I have a few SNES and GBA games on my laptop that I like to play occasionally. I probably shouldn't do it, but it's really hard to resist the free nostalgia trip.

As for other Capcom games I liked: I really enjoy the Phoenix Wright series, and I squee'd when I saw that he was actually going to be in the ultimate edition of MvC 3. :3 I hope he's not just going to be a joke character, though I wouldn't be all that surprised if he is. :/ I also liked RE4, at least what I played of it. I never got a chance to get all that into the RE games, since my parents were really strict about ratings. I almost didn't get to buy FF VII, because my mom didn't know what "comic mischief" was supposed to mean. I bought Devil May Cry 3 waaay back when it was re-released with an easier play mode, but it still kicked my ass, so I traded it in. ^^; Up until I got stuck in that game, it was a blast, and I kind of regret giving up on it so easily. This was before I had my own internet, so I couldn't look up what to do. /excuses for my lameness

Thanks for the tips! I'll try 'em out...eventually. Did getting all the equipment/accessories trophy take long? Seems that would be the most agonizing one to get, that or the 5-star every battle trophy.

Oh nice! The underwater Colossi is my next one to slay. >:] I'll have to see if I can beat the time.

Oooo... An ICO novel? Is it available online, or do I have to purchase it? I love novelizations for games. It provides a deeper connection to the characters/story sometimes.

I don't mind collections, but there's a point where it can become an obsession with people. I think one of my aunts is a hoarder. She never seems to throw anything out on her own accord. I had to help clean out her garage once, and it took forever. She didn't seem to care that some of her stuff was going to the dump, so maybe she's not as bad as most, but still....to let her house get as bad as it was. I haven't spoken to her in years though. As for my own collections, I still have a few Barbie dolls and other toys I was fond of when I was smaller, and of course my game collection is still ever increasing, but other than that, can't say I collect anything.

I looked up the info about that reviewer, and as it turns out he's written quite a few other controversial reviews as well, so maybe it was just the final straw? Still seemed really unfair, but it was a pretty long time ago, so hopefully something like that doesn't happen again.

It's not so bad. I just have to take a break every so often, which is recommended anyway. Haha. I wish I had a job where when things were slow, I can whip out my portable gaming devices and play. Guess you have to make sure you don't get caught though.

Maybe the word "pieces" made you think of chicken? Chicken is delicious too, so it's all good. :3

    Oh yeah... I've heard of the horror stories from playing online matches, which is why I don't think I'd do it myself. Speaking of rage quitting, there's an achievement in Team Fortress 2 that you can get if you make someone rage quit in a game. Good on ya for winning 5 in a row! I'd definitely struggle with something like that, and it would suck verily if I was on win 4 and lost the fifth match. :/ Haha... Seems that's how my luck would be though. xD I tried getting this one trophy in Arkham Asylum, where you have to do a silent take down on ~6 guys without being seen. I took down 5, and was juuuust about to get the sixth, when he suddenly turned around and spotted me! I was like "FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" when he did that. I got over my failure, but haven't tried it again. ^^;

I wish I had MvC 3. I'd totally kick arse with Ammy. >:] I hear she's rather hard to master though. Still, I was super stoked that she made it in the game, as where many other Okami fans on the net. ^^ I don't know who else I'd pick though.

Ugh, I know... I nearly chewed up my controller in frustration because Vanille's Death spam wouldn't stick to the NeoOchu so I could get that growth egg! It finally stuck after about 20 or so battles, and I think I even 5-starred it, so no more NeoOchu! So, how do you take down the Long Gui and Shaolong Guis?

I am not good enough at slaying the Collosi to earn any of those nifty treasure things... All the lizards I've found where from good-ol'-fashioned roaming around and luck. I managed to find quite a few, though not enough to where I can climb to the top of the shrine. Have you done that at all? I watched a Youtube vid on it, and there doesn't seem to be much up there, but still... I'd like to do it sometime, just because it's there. :3

I do have an HDtv, but I don't think I have any cables that you're talking about. Picture quality seems fine to me though, but I could look into getting some cables when I'm out and about next time. ^^

I don't really have all that many, tbh. I just tend to hold on to the ones that I do get for whatever reason. I wonder how many hoarders start off like that? I will never get that bad though...I hope. xD The guy who coined that term was a cartoonist, but I can't think of his name, nor the title of the book that I read it from. :/ Ah well.

Do you think those big gaming sites get some kind of compensation for writing rave reviews for less-than-stellar games? I recall a bit of a controversy from a while back when a reviewer wrote a bad critique about a game on a big gaming news site (maybe even in a magazine), and he lost his job because of it.

Oh yeah. TWEWY is really good. Do you like handheld gaming at all? I have been playing my DS more and more, though it does hurt my hand if I play for too long. Must be the pointed edges. I'd like to try the 3DS sometime, though I don't think I'd buy it.

Reese's Pieces are like M&Ms, but with peanut butter in the middle. They're what Elliot fed to E.T. when he was trying to get the alien to come out of the shed thing he was hiding in. I haven't had those candies in forever, but they're sooo good! Heh... America does have a penchant for burgers and junk, eh? We wouldn't be so damn fat otherwise.

Nice work! I bet it feels good to know how much you've improved, and congrats on the plats! Do you do online fights at all in MvC 3? And what's your favorite team/characters to play as? Deadpool seems to be really popular with a lot of the online crowd.

That strategy works with the biggest turtle monsters too? Hmmm... I might give it another go, once I beat Titan's trials. Some of those monsters are a right pain in the patootie. ><

It doesn't help that those lizards are damn fast too, and seem to be impervious to arrows, or maybe I was a bad shot? I'm thinking the latter. xD I watched the VGA guys play the first 3 or so hours of SotC late last night, and it looks pretty great, especially after hooking up my PS2 today and playing that version for a bit after who knows how long.

EDIT:: Whoa... Sorry about this book I sent. Didn't realize that I typed so much @_@

I remember seeing an advert for Wild Arms, but alas, I did not play it. Seemed really neat though, and I think I really liked the look of a couple of characters. I probably still have the magazine where I saw it somewhere in my collection. I like keeping stuff like that around because I can reference it for drawings. One of my old art books said that keeping stuff like that around is called having an "art morgue", which is a rather...morbid way of putting it.

I should do something like that. I'll give it some thought. Thanks for the suggestion.

It's all good. Being critical is pretty much a necessity for a reviewer. Can't sugarcoat things all the time, especially when it comes to an entertainment medium that is quite pricey for a lot of people (time and money-wise). Good to be able to tell exactly what someone is in store for. And oh yeah... I didn't count on you getting review copies of games, though I suppose I should have suspected as much.

Heh.. Speaking of jokes about poo, have you ever played a game called Conker's Bad Fur Day? I haven't, but a buddy of mine here on TFF has, and it was his first M-rated game. Well, it's pretty much the definitive game for toilet humor, and trying waaay too hard to be funny. I was "fortunate" enough to be sent a clip of the game, and well....here it is for you if you'd like to see what I was shown. I don't blame you if you don't watch it though. It's really dumb.

I don't mind some fetch quests if they provide a little something to the backstory or gameplay, though they're hardly a favorite aspect of games. But yeah, in general, it's just something to make a game feel longer. In "The World Ends With You", there's a particularly annoying one that's about finding a missing microphone, and when you complete it, the main character says that it was "a detour from hell". xD It's like game developers know they're tediously annoying, but put them in anyway. I love TWEWY though. There's quite a few jabs at the gaming industry, but affectionately so.

Hahaha. Yeah, I didn't think so, but it'd be neat if you could somehow. Maybe if you had some unfortunate nuclear radiation accident you could, but then I'm sure there would be much bigger things to worry about if that happened. Lol @ E.T. playing the kinect xDDD I haven't seen that movie in ages, but I always wind up with the biggest craving for Reese's Pieces when I think about it. :B

Wow. That's quite a collection. Which games are your most proud platinum achievement? I tried to plat. in FF XIII, but I do not have the patience for it. ^^; I did manage to finally take down an Adamantoise, and was really proud of myself for a bit, but then found out that once you defeat the Titan Trials (or whatever they're called), an even BIGGER and MORE DIFFICULT turtle monster thing appears.... I was like "no thank you" and decided to move on.

I got the plat. on HR because I wanted to see all the scenarios/endings without resorting to youtube. It's also pretty easy to get trophies in that game, though admittedly, I had to use a guide for the "bear trial". You have to follow a specific driving pattern, and if you mess up once, you don't earn your trophy. Any other trophies I earn are either by accident, story-related, or I'll go out of my way to get if they're something I think will be an interesting gameplay addition, like taking pictures in Bioshock. That was actually pretty handy in the long-run, and I totally skipped out on it on my first playthrough.

Wow... Just two hours? I thought I was being quick when I beat the game in one sitting (~ 3 and a half hours). That wasn't my first playthrough, btw. Heh... I was soooo lost the first time playing that game, but the game was gorgeous, so I didn't mind.

Do you hit up any sites that gives helpful hints for getting trophies? PS3trophies.org is really handy, and they're good to hide the more spoileriffic trophies within a drop menu. They might have some ideas as how to get that ICO trophy.

That would probably kind of annoy me if it was true. Just think: You plugged all that time into a game, and want to see the conclusion, but you have to search it out? Might not be as bad as what I'm thinking though.

Thanks for the well-wishes. ^^ I hope to feel 100% soon too.

Oh, nice! I still need to get me a copy of FF Tactics. People that love it, REALLY love it, and I've yet to meet a person who's had a bad thing to say about that game. Tactics Advance on the other hand... But that's probably in comparison to the original game. I'm sure it's fun too. Oh yeah... I forgot about possibility of being sent crap games... Ah well. When you're finished with those, you can trade 'em up for something better at a game shop~! What are some of the clunkers that you had to review before?

The trailers make the game look super serious (the ones I caught anyway), and in some ways it is, but there are some really funny parts to it. Also, I'm not gonna lie: There are quite a lot fetch quests to accomplish, but only about a handful are necessary to advance the plot. Just so ya know.

Glad you're enjoying your game. It does seem like it'd be quite an experience. If you had the Kinect, could you play that in the dark? Seems like you'd have to have a decent light source from somewhere so it can read your movements.

Are you a Trophy/Achievement hunter at all? I will trophy hunt sometimes to get more out of my game, but I'm not a completionist by any means. The only Platinum trophy I have is from Heavy Rain.

Oh I know. That's all it seemed to be to me too, though I heard the end of RDR was quite gut-wrenchingly sad. Still, it didn't seem to be my thing, so I gave it to my older bro.

Nah, no sick leave. Waitresses don't get those kinds of perks. But it's very nice of you to say not to be hard on myself. It's very relieving to read that. ^^ I have dabble in a bit of art, and it does help quite a deal.

I'm sorry about the job shortage, but that's awesome that you volunteer your time. That will look really good on a resume, and sweet scores with free games/tickets too! Ooooo~! What was the interview with the guy from SE about? And I hope you'll get the chance to do that as a career too. Seems like it'd be very enjoyable, and if you can say that you enjoy your work, I consider that the very definition of success. ^^ Best of luck to ya!

OH SHITE! I nearly forgot the other reason I wanted an XBox 360: LOST ODYSSEY! I hear it's a must-have for that platform, especially for fans of FF, since it's from the father of FF himself. You play it, or have it? I hear it's quite the tear-jerker.

I watched the first half of Deus Ex with the Video Games Awesome guys. It did seem really good, and I like that you can take different approaches to the gameplay, like be more stealthy, or go in guns a-blazin'! You're not the first person I've seen say that Uncharted is overrated, so no worries. I'd still like to give it a shot someday.

Yeah, I kind of have hesitations about L.A. Noire as well. Rockstar games don't really do it for me. I didn't even really get into Red Dead Redemption when I played it, and that was a very high contender for Game of the Year for many people last year. Heh... Yeah, I just never got around to picking up Okamiden...

I am employed, however, I've been on leave for health-related issues, so I haven't been earning any income. I really need to get back to working though. I feel like such a bum, and it's taking a toll on my self-esteem. But that's my problem, and I'm sure relief will happen for me soon. ^^ What about yourself? Do you have a job or anything?
