Sure, I respect them immensely. I think Socrates, Plato and Aristotle had some great idealist contributions, and I'm an advocate for Hugo Grotius and his desire for an objective understanding of justice. But... it's almost as though they suggest that the only worthwhile ideas are European. Eurocentrism, basically. As a European, that's all well and good. But as a non-European (three generations, so only sort of), it seems arrogant, quite frankly. I mean during the Dark Ages, Western science didn't advance beyond what the Greeks understood, but what was happening elsewhere? In South East Asia civilisation was flourishing. The Chinese were the only civilisation to have discovered gun powder, and Chinese engineers accompanied Genghis Khan to Eastern Europe, where they had Europe at their mercy until Khan died and the Mongols (inexplicably) retreated. There is increasing evidence that the Chinese 'discovered' America before Columbus. Here's the map which is leading such speculation:



Interesting stuff, but it's all marginalised at university, and especially in discussions of political philosophy. I learnt this stuff in geography, and wonder why I don't in politics.

Getting enough sleep is good for you. Last night I went to bed at like 3:30, and then was woken up periodically starting at around 9, and then I gave up at like 10. Have a headache, heh. I could clearly hear the boy doing some high-pitched voice for one of his games, and was actually having a dream about it. It was vaguely distressing. About the game they were having me play; hey,they were telling me what I was doing, heh. "And then this happens, and you do this, and I do this, okay?" And I was like "sure," heh. Poor tiger, indeed.

Yeah, some people don't want help sometimes. Sometimes, it almost seems to make things worse. Maybe you could just say something to the girl apart from everyone else; ask her about it, and give her words of encouragement, or something.

So, "have to would..." was this in english or german? Because if it was in her native tongue, that's some pretty bad sentence structuring, especially if she said it out loud and didn't correct herself. I wold probably just laugh at her, personally. Well, maybe not full out laugh at her, but I'd give her a face and snicker at her. Be like, "do you realize what you just said?" My friends and I laugh at grammatical errors we say or type all the time; including our own. Heh.

If you came over for a month, that would be awesome. You could get to meet both me and Misty (the girl I was telling you about before. She joined here under that name. Has she talked to you yet?) You could also meet all our other friends. I wonder what you would think of them. If you thought I was rude when I first started talking to you... (nah, they're not all like that. You'd almost definitely like my roommates, and a few other people.) But yeah; we can be pretty rude to each other, but it's mostly our sense of humor.

Yeah, Claudio has an interesting singing voice... when I first heard him, I thought he was a girl, heh. It was "A Favor House Atlantic," which is probably my favorite song by them. Or "The Velourium Camper I: The Faint of Heart." Or "Welcome Home..." I'm not sure. But he does sound a bit like MJ. Especially if you listen to the Prize Fighter Inferno, a side project.

Not a fan of fighting games, eh? I hear ya. Dissidia can be a bit hard to get the hang of, too (for example, I haven't gotten the hang of it yet.) I own Crisis Core, but I haven't played it much yet. It reminds me greatly of Advent Children... Also, the leveling up system is based greatly on chance, I guess.

Sounds like a cool movie. Especially if your actors are good. You don't think you'll upload it to youtube or anything? (I said something to my brother about uploading his movie again the other day. His response was kinda indifferent sounding, so I wouldn't keep my fingers crossed, sorry I'll keep on him about it, though.)

Get a good night's sleep again tonight, and don't let the stupid people get to you too much, missy Anyhoo...

No. I looked at the thread a couple of times though. I like anime, but I haven't really been watching a lot of it lately. Idk if you know what an "anime abridged" series is, but that's what I'm REALLY into these days. These are all over Youtube.

Isn't it awesome how people are so judgmental of one another? Particularly if someone is simply different. You're not supposed to deviate from the vanilla existence, you know! Everyone should talk the same in social situations, listen to the same music, have the same interests... Yeah, it sucks. And you get that everywhere; even some places online, you'll find. I don't mind if you vent to me. It's all good.

It's also good you don't think you'd mind being around me for a football game. I get pretty ridiculous sometimes, though. Mostly if I'm at the game, though, because I will yell at the officials and at the other team; I tend to be a bit of a heckler. Still wish I hadn't yelled so much, though; my throat is still sore today. Maybe it's allergies too...

The children are playing "hunters and tigers," or something, and part of the game involves the "tiger(s)" hiding underneath my computer from the "hunter." And when the hunter comes, I point to where the tiger is, and they shoot the tiger. They explain to me what is going to happen, ha. And there is a screaming baby.

So if I buy a Dream Theater CD, you will come to Oregon and punch me? Well, maybe I should, then. Because then you'll come over, try to punch me, and I'll capture you and not let you leave But then you'd probably get homesick, and that would be bothersome, so I'd probably have let you leave again after a while. Maybe I'll just download one or two of the songs that you recommend off Amazon.com then. It's only 99 cents per song!

So you're much more disciplined in the money department than I am. I really should save more than I do. But then I buy things. Like fast food, soda, coffee, CD's, movies, a PSP... You are considerate of your parents' needs, and that's good. If you know you need help, though, don't be too proud...

Remember next time to tell me about your movie, if you have time, please I am considering drawing some comic strips to put on the web. That might happen. Anyhoo...

Nah, famous Europeans. Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, skipping the Middle Ages, and going into the Enlightenment, and now it's a little of European and a little of North American. You actually have to go out of your way to find, read, and discuss ideas that aren't part of this framework.

Ah, I admit. But to be honest... I don't think I'm that cute. >.> You can see my eye in that picture, but that doesn't tell a whole lot.

It's alright. I actually wasn't home all day yesterday, anyway, ha. I went to a wedding and then to a football game. They lost... I don't think you would like being at football games with me, or even watching them on TV, because it's one of those situations where I get really worked up and kind of lose control. It's really silly. I need to stop letting my emotions take control of me, I think. Need to stop and go, "Wait a second. What's really happening right now? Take a look at this from an outside perspective. Is it really logical to react in this manner?"

So your movie is going well, and you have good actors? That's great news! Sure, I'd love to hear your story btw: I told my brother that you wanted to see his movie, and that he should upload it onto youtube, and he was like "yeah, I could probably do that." We'll see if he remembers, though. He might just do like me and flake on you... (I haven't forgotten about recording me singing a Dream Theater song, btw. I was actually looking at the CD's at the store last night. They the cheapest one was $12, and the rest were around $20... there was a two disk best of that I thought about getting. Should I get that one?)

Y'know, I like that independent attitude in you. It's a strong bit of character to have. I've always liked characters like that in stories and video games, too. Blaze the Cat from Sonic comes to mind, and Freya too, to some extent. That's also why Carlene is like that, ha. Actually, she was a bit of a take on Freya; like, what if Freya had been the main character of FF9? Except as I write, she's becoming less the main character... But anyway! You should just remember that, even if it hurts your pride a little bit, it's better to get help from your family than to try and just make it on your own. They love you; that's what they're there for. Okay, lady? (tell me if I'm preaching at you too much, btw. I tend to do that, sometimes...)

But yeah; today, I'm going up to visit my brother and his family, because it's my nephew's birthday. I read your PM, and I respect and understand what you had to say. That's pretty much all I have to say about it right now, heh. Anyhoo...

That's the aim, but I'm getting disillusioned with the whole process. So far it's a matter of learning about a whole bunch of Europeans and memorising their ideas so we can write essays about them. I suppose it's foundational stuff, but I enjoy critical thought.

I'm holding up pretty good. My teacher likes me for some reason. =D She yells at other kids for the stuff that they don't have completed, but she compliments me for the stuff that I do have completed, even though I have a ton of unfinished things. =P

Good to hear you got a bit of a break over these last couple of days. Your boss probably did that on purpose because of all the work you did monday through wednesday, eh? Maybe she remembers that she was supposed to write your review, and hasn't gotten to it yet, but it wouldn't hurt to ask her again. Sounds like those guys were also giving you a bit of break. Maybe the whole universe was like, "Let's go easy on Freya today!" Yay! Yup, and that's probably why those guys helped you. They were like, "Cute girl, doing work! That's a travesty!" Watcha gonna do? It's not that bad, is it?

Sounds like you want to be a very independent individual and not rely on anyone. That's good. Just as long as you don't get too independent, and we never hear from you again.

She is really nice. Both of them are really nice, and giving. And I like kids. It's just that when the first thing you hear in the morning is a loud, high-pitched voice... that tends to get on your nerves a little. Remember, I'm not a morning person, either. And morning is like the first couple hours when I wake up. Got my routine, and if that gets interrupted, then death.

I don't remember any mistakes you made, so clearly they didn't bother me, missy. Although if you want to improve, then good for you. Hope you have a fun weekend this week! Anyhoo...
