Because that's the way we (Westerners) believe the world goes. It's true though, Western ideas permeate most things, and one can easily get the impression that all the good ideas are Western. But I could have a good discussion about how the Chinese actually invented democracy; how, despite Napoleon's conclusions, the Egyptians had philosophy (including the oldest known philosophical writing: "A man in distress wants to pour out his heart, more than that his case be won." - Ptah-hotep, c. 2300 BCE). I could go on.

It seems strange learning about anything non-New Zealand here, seeing as we are so far from, well, almost everything. I mean, look at the map below. Looks like the Chinese found Antarctica, and misplaced Australia, but I can barely see New Zealand

I actually saw that you had written me about an hour after you did last night, but it was 3 AM, and I was tired. I had tried to go to bed, but there was a loud movie on in the living room. Whatever I would have said to you probably would've been a touch incoherent and grumpy, ha. Also; my team lost again this week! What's going on with them, Freya? Would you please tell them to get their act together and quit losing?

So, thou hast an appreciation for my attempts at a more formal manner of speaking? It is most pleasing to know! Alas, my mind is a bit cloudy yet, due to the recent hour at which I have awakened... I am a touch drowsy, yet. Wouldst it befit me to heed my own advice?

Eating any kind of meat is normal I eat cereal for breakfast, but if I could, I would eat sausages, ha. In any case, it's good to hear you've got yourself taken care of for this school year.

Well, it's good that you were making money. You will need it for school. The first time I worked in Yellowstone, it was about 2 months, comparable pay, and I made... about enough to cover the expenses for the first term back in school that year. Yay, maybe I shouldn't tell you that... Don't worry; I only worked 5 hour days much of that time, and I spent some of it on other things, too.

Ah. I didn't realize that's what you needed the French for. Well that's good ^^ If you did forget your English, that would mean I would definitely have to learn German. Still need to! NEED.

Yeah, I tried to read "It" once. "It" was long and boring. Lots of details to things I didn't really think needed to be detailed. And really nasty in places. Although the parts where the horror aspect actually came in, I found were actually pretty fun. And Children of the Corn was actually made in 1984, and is only an hour and a half long. I remember my older siblings and their friends talking about it back in the day; that's why I wanted to see it. Yay for FFXII!! I found it to actually be quite an enjoyable game. Balthier was my favorite

Maybe I WILL, lady I was actually thinking of making it myself, but if it turns out that I really don't like it... maybe I'll ask.

Yay for family members in teaching positions at your school! I've never had that phenomenon occur, but I'll bet it can be pretty lame. Probably makes it harder to get away with stuff. And your uncle sounds lame in general. Just control your anger, dear! Put the pencil you sharpened to a point down and take several deep breaths!

Heh heh heh, I just got up like an hour ago now. I stayed up another couple hours after the last time I wrote you, so it was like 4:30 before I went to bed. Oh, so you don't think you have to listen to Corporal Punishment when he tells you to go to bed, eh? Maybe Corporal Punishment needs to teach you a lesson... ...nah, Corporal Punishment is too lazy. Yay, the parents! ...or at least Yay, Mom! Heh.

You would THINK I wouldn't want to eat THAT. Little do you realize that THAT is my FAVORITE FOOD. That being something that I have no idea what that is. And when I go to work at 2:30, I get off at 10:30. Used to be 11, but they cut us back a half hour. Same amount of work, though *thumbs up* Not that it makes too much difference; most nights, I'm done fifteen minutes to a half hour early, anyway (not last night, though.) So, 2:30 to 1... that's like a 10 hour shift. You do that five days a week? ...do you get overtime, or anything?

Don't you need to learn French to become a teacher? You'd better to it, lady! But then you might forget your English, and that would be sad... Heh, it's true that it was not the best condition for learning Spanish, but two years of a foreign language was required for graduation.

People and their schedules for listening to new music. Y'know when I listen to new music? ...when I feel like it. So, pretty much the same as you. I actually came to that realization as I was typing it, ha. No, Stephen King did not direct the movie. But he wrote the story it was based on. But yeah; I went and looked it up on imdb, where it has a rating of 5.1 out of 10, and people call it cheesy and poorly directed, and didn't like the ending, etc. (although there were also a lot of people who liked it.) All I know is that if I had seen it as a little kid... that would've been bad.

A One Word Story is when you get two or more people together, and tell a story... by one person saying a word, and the next person saying another word, and so on, until you feel it's time to end the story. Generally, the story has a "moral" at the end, and the line "The moral of the story is..." forms, followed by the moral. Unless one or two people don't want it to end, in which case it may deviate from that sentence. I will have to send you some of our one word stories. They can be rather vulgar...

Heh, when I was in school, I made sure to get the latest starting classes I could get. Many times, it was a deciding factor for whether I took the class or not, actually, ha. Although there were a couple that I took that started at like 8 or 8:30... I kinda miss school.

Back. Just watched a really creepy-ass movie with my friends: Children of the Corn. It was actually more creepy than I thought it would be. Guess you should never underestimate Stephen King, eh?

Heh. I saw your name in the "currently active users" list today, and thought about writing you again to tell you to go to bed. Then I decided you probably wouldn't see it. But apparently you would have, because you wrote me after that point.

Skipped breakfast again? *Shakes a disapproving finger* Wait a minute, you have breakfast there too, eh? So nevermind. And I get to go to work at 2:30 PM Today was the gax, though, because two rooms early in my route were a mess, and I had to mop them. And they had so much garbage that I had to immediately go back and throw away their crap. So I was half an hour behind all night, and I was like "Grrr..."

French is the language of love, or something. I've been told. And I chose spanish because that's what all my friends were taking, and my sister took it too. And there was this one time my friend was sitting across the way from me, and I didn't know what was going on, so in a high pitched voice I said "I don't even know what we're doing, Joel! What the hell?! What the HELL?!" And everyone laughed. Including the teacher. I did not get in trouble. One of my favorite high school memories, probably.

Hm. You should look up those ones I mentioned before! In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 is my fav. Gotta go right now, btw; will probably send you a further message later.

Yay! That's when the panic occurs, eh? Although you're like me; you can get out of the house in a half hour if you needed to, so you were probably okay. What time do you start? Today, that same boy woke me up at 8 AM. I had gone to bed at 2:30. I tried to sleep for another hour, but gave up, went out and got some cereal. Then I went back to sleep for an hour or so. Still tired, though... need coffee.

That sounds confusing. I imagine it's difficult to keep up with both languages though. You knew three at one point? That probably took a lot of effort. And you still have to learn French, eh? Although I hear after the first couple of languages, it gets easier to learn new ones. Y'know how many I've learned? ...one. Ha. Well, one and a quarter; I took two years of Spanish in High School. I really didn't pay attention, though. Barely passed.

Also... let me give you a sampling of my friends and my stupid sense of humor: I actually do know a "second language." It's called "Bray Sway Lay." Yay rayplayce thay vaywayls wayth "A's." Ate's raylay staypayd, bayt ayt amazays ace. At one point, somehow, it devolved into mostly insulting one another. "Taym, shate thay hale ape. Yay staypayd sane ave ay baytch." Early on, a secondary language was invented, called "Brah Swah Lah," when Bray Sway Lay was thwarted by the store "Safe Way." There. I'm not sure why I told you about that. Hopefully you think it's funny, and not completely retarded, ha. Anyhoo...

That sucks, waking up early. At least it was only like 15 minutes before you had to get up, and not like an hour. Or an hour in the middle of the night. But every little bit counts... And on getting to work early... I used to believe in that, ha. At my current work, I've been getting there right around when we're supposed to start-maybe a minute or two early or late-every day. But yeah; so the chickens don't bother you directly, usually? That's good. Probably afraid of you.

Do whatever you think is right, or whatever you feel like doing. If you don't feel like saying anything, don't worry about it. That girl might appreciate the thought, though, even if she isn't really worried about it.

I dunno... for some reason, I thought she might've been talking in some other language, since the sentence structure was so bad. Particularly since she was speaking it and not writing it, as that's pretty hard to mess up and not notice.

I'll tell Misty you responded. Maybe she hasn't been back since she sent you the first one, or something; she generally doesn't do the whole "forum thing." Furthermore... Fungah! Foiled again! Well, some day, one of us will win the lottery, and we will be able to afford to visit the other.

Y'know those slot machines in casinos? That's what the leveling system is based around, I've been told. You could go hours without leveling, and then in one battle gain three. It's supposed to be a really good game, though. *nod*

I forget these things, heh. Maybe I'll actually learn German. Get Misty to teach me. ...we're both too lazy. Subtitling the whole movie would take a lot of work, ma'am. Don't put yourself through that just for me.

Personally, I slept in about an hour later than usual today. Still have 2:30 hours before work, but it's still a little disappointing. Well, I hope you have a better night's sleep tonight, lady. Anyhoo...
