Heh-heh, I'm laughing now because of that memory. xD Maybe next time you could bake a cake while having your characters kill a superboss. =D

"...It is widely accepted that English political philosopher John Locke laid the foundation for modern democracy. According to Locke, sovereign rights reside with the people and, based on a contract with the people, leaders are given a mandate to govern, which the people can withdraw. But almost two millennia before Locke, Chinese philosopher Meng-tzu preached similar ideas. According to his "Politics of Royal Ways," the king is the "Son of Heaven," and heaven bestowed on its son a mandate to provide good government, that is, to provide good for the people. If he did not govern righteously, the people had the right to rise up and overthrow his government in the name of heaven. Meng-tzu even justified regicide, saying that once a king loses the mandate of heaven he is no longer worthy of his subjects' loyalty. The people came first, Meng-tzu said, the country second, and the king third. The ancient Chinese philosophy of Minben Zhengzhi, or "people-based politics," teaches that "the will of the people is the will of heaven" and that one should "respect the people as heaven" itself."

I might start a thread for something along these lines when I come back (properly).

I worked today While I was reading your message earlier, I got a call from this voice automated system that sends out requests for subs. It wanted me to start at 11... at it was 11:30. So needless to say, I left immediately. It was a school I've worked at before, so I kind of knew where things were, but at the same time, I haven't worked there in 6 months, and things had been rearranged. One awesome thing I noted was that there was only one mop... but several mop heads. And two mop buckets on opposite sides of the school. So one mop for both the cafeteria and the bathrooms... gross. They also might call me back tomorrow (yay!) but I'd have to get up at like 6 or 6:30 (boo!) If that happens, I'm gonna be a zombie, I think. Been going to bed around 3 every night this week... heh...

I hope I don't give you a reason to stop talking to me, too That would be unfortunate. So... if you found you were becoming addicted to TFF, you would stop talking to everyone on the site? That would be sad...

It's nice when friends don't really care about politics, actually. Because then you don't have to feel awkward when you disagree with them. See, a couple of my friends saw a "Global Warming" message in Wall-E, and didn't like it. A global message warning. In Wall-E. I didn't know what to say to that. Sure, there's a message about littering... is that so bad? Then, on the opposite side of the coin, is my brother, who is a bit more liberal minded as of late (although if you call him a liberal, he gets pissed and makes fun of you for it. This is the brother I looked up to growing up, btw.)

Wonder what you'll read for that class. Probably some Mark Twain, and To Kill A Mocking Bird and Gone With The Wind, maybe. Maybe the Outsiders, too. Hope you have fun with this class, too! If you read the ones I've mentioned, I can probably discuss them with you; I've read most of them (never read Gone With The Wind, but I saw the movie.)
Sheesh, 100 students? That's what classes are like in a Uni, eh? At the community college level, there were only like 20-30 in a class, and possibly smaller sometimes. That's probably one of the nicer things about community college, too; smaller classes mean more one on one time with the professor.
Why would you let me know that your classes don't start until at least 10, and then make a point that it wasn't because you didn't want to get up early, but that there were no earlier classes? Don't you realize that I'm going to tease you about this now? Don't you know that I'm going to say things like, "Yeah, I'll bet that was the case " and, "Sure, lazy-bottom." Heh heh heh... I'm just kidding. I know you're definitely not lazy. The thought would not have occured to me, had you not said anything.

So, your friends wanna be your friends, still? Is that what you're thinking? Or are you thinking they're gonna try to feed off your strong work ethic, and try to copy off you and ride on your efforts, or something? If it's the former... what's so bad about having a few friends, going into something new to you? Familiar faces are nice in strange places, don't you think? If it's the latter, then yeah; that's lame of them, and maybe you should let them know that you don't like it (should that prove to be the case, of course.) After all, going to school for yourself can be hard enough; going to school sounds like it would suck. Then again, maybe you could charge them money and be their tutor, or something. Get some side money along the way, eh?

Quit worrying about the c-test, missy! I'm sure you did fine Besides, there's no use worrying about things that cannot be helped. So just relax, and go with the flow for now. Anyhoo...

I wouldn't say this is good, either. And you're right; complaining is useless. He was looking for a dayshift job though; hopefully he will get one soon, and then they will call me back. I heard there were temp positions opening up around the district soon, anyway, so hopefully I can get one of those.

That's good that your studies take precedence over TFF. I would have to shake a disapproving finger at you, were the case otherwise. And yeah; this is one long lasting conversation we've got going here, ha. Since like some time in August, eh? I've greatly enjoyed it; probably won't stop unless you stop.

Sorry. That was a bit of a strange thing for me to bring up in the first place... but it was like the only thing of note, yesterday or today, really. I've been playing a lot of Star Ocean: First Departure. Probably could beat it tonight, if I keep on going. Once I'm done, I won't have to play it anymore, you see. Heh. Also went and saw some friends tonight, and while I was there, I was playing it (although that is acceptable; hang out generally involves people with handhelds, anyway. Or people playing some console game; a couple guys were playing Street Fighter 4.) We also talked about politics and people we think are stupid.

Hey, it's important stuff, figuring out what classes you should take. A lot of times, I fudged it, taking a lot of random things I thought sounded interesting (and generally, tried to get classes that started afternoon, ha.) Just make sure to keep that discipline of yours and remain focused on what you're there for. *thumbs up* Feel free to talk to me about stuff you're learning, too. And you will pass the c-test. If you studied for it, you will pass it.

Free day every Wednesday, eh? Ha, I had a schedule like that, one term. I found it kind of nice. I am also more lazy than you. Hope you find ways to kill boredom and get good grades at the same time! Anyhoo...

I agree with your assessment of the situation, heh. Although the guy they chose is a good worker... I'd probably have been more pissed off had it been anyone else, but at least it was someone I knew and respected.

Having good friends is awesome. It makes life much more bearable, doesn't it? Better hold on to them as long as you can!
Hm... I have some friends that are still hanging around here from the old days (like me) and there are newer members that I'm kind of friends with, but I wouldn't say I'm really close to that many people on here anymore. I've felt strong connections with some people in the past, but that's kinda faded away, because either they've faded away, or our friendship faded away to some kind of distant acquaintanceship. I'm sure if I actually went on MSN at night, there would be people I'd immediately start talking to from here, but actual interaction with many on TFF is pretty limited these days. The only person I talk to on here every day is you, missy. You're a big draw for me right now, but in general, TFF has this nature about it where it will not let you go(!) In fact, you might wanna get out of here while you still can.

Yesterday, I tried to give blood. The lady who put the needle in moved it while she was taping the tube down though, and apparently bruised me, so the blood wouldn't come out fast enough. So I only got to give one bag of blood, and she kept on saying, "I'm so sorry!" And I would reply, "It's okay."

Do a good job organizing, lady! I will try to figure out something to do (no calls for work again today...) Anyhoo...

Thanks yo. Yes we found out the gender a while back: it is another boy. We where hoping for a girl and were a little disappointed at first but now we are just thrilled to be having another child.

Been doing pretty good lately, really can't complain at all. Been really busy trying to get stuff ready for the new baby to get here in December and get all of the prebaby things set up, like the shower and what not.

Got the older son moved into his big boy room over the weekend so now we really get to start setting up the other room and getting it ready for the big day. Less then 8 weeks and counting.

Remember how I had that journal about applying for that temporary position and not getting it? That temporary position would have been an extension of the job I had been doing, if I would have gotten it. Instead, they gave it to someone else. Therefore... someone else is doing my job today, and I have no more work (until someone calls me in to work for a day, or whatever. Basically, I'm back to being on call again.) I had had very high hopes that they would give it to me, since I had actually been working that position for the past six months.... It would have been a foot in the door for an eventual full time position.

Good that you think you did well on your test. And that TFF helped you, because you read something on here; that's cool.

The interesting thing about my friends is that the core friends have been friends at least since high school. I hear that most people "move on" after high school. Some members of the group tried... then they missed us, or decided they were being dumb. Heh. Although some were also successful in that "moving on" thing. Personally, I am not very good at it, as evidenced by my being at TFF 8 years after joining.

I wouldn't necessarily expect you to have heard that song before. I was just giving you an example of what they sound like.

Make sure you spend that day off wisely! I didn't get out of bed until 2 today... hahaha. Anyhoo...

Today was the last day of work for me. It's kind of sad, and I also didn't sleep well again last night, so now I almost just want to go home and go to bed, heh. Not do anything else. We'll see if I get called in to work somewhere tomorrow...

A "c-test," eh? What does the "c" stand for? I've never heard of that term before, but perhaps I've heard of something similar. And a test on the second day? It's not just like a placement test, or something? What is it with places where they have you studying for tests while school isn't even in session?! That's evil. Anyway, the first day of school, even in college, I generally remember as being long and exhausting, due to all the information the professors give you about their classes.

Yeah... it's hard to say "No," I know. What I love about my friends is that most of them are very honest, patient, giving... and they will tell other people in the group when they're being disruptive or a burden on someone else. Then again, selfless deeds are looked well upon by God, according to the Bible

Yeah, it's hard to avoid stupid people. I realize that I am very blessed to have the friends and family that I have, so that I can hang out with them and forget about the stupid people of the world.

Mike Patton was the second singer of Faith No More, after Chuck Mosley (and the superior singer by far, in my opinion.) Here is a song by the Dillinger Escape Plane with him at lead singer: Come To Daddy. I believe they got their name from the American Bank Robber John Dillinger.

Well, I hope you do well on your c-test tomorrow, lady. Have a good night. Anyhoo...

No, I got my own milk, thank you I don't have too much of a hard time shopping on a day off; I have all day to do it then, after all. It's harder to do it on a work day, because I'm usually not ready to go until about 1 or 1:30, and by then, if I went shopping, I would be worried about being done in time to go to work (which starts at 2:30.)

Being good = being stupid? Maybe we have different definitions. To me, "being good" just means that you behave yourself. Y'know, don't act selfishly, don't hinder the happiness of others, etc. Doing something nice for someone isn't that hard to do, is it? Maybe a little niceness gets taken advantage of by the people who know that you generally won't say "no" to them. If it becomes a problem, it's your responsibility at that point to say "hey, you're taking advantage, and I don't appreciate it." Or to say "No." Being good also means you stick up for yourself, or for the truth. Using your common sense, etc. Maybe those are just my convictions, but I will try to stand by them, regardless. If it means I'm "stupid," then that's too bad.

Sitting around and talking? Sounds like my idea of fun. Just not necessarily in the same location I would be doing it. See, but when you go into public places, you run the risk into running into awesome people like the ones you mentioned.

Well, you should hear of New Order. They're one of the best bands from the 80's. And yeah; Faith No More isn't one of my favorite bands, but they're fun. Have you heard any of Mike Patton's other work? Like with The Dillinger Escape Plan? It's kinda creepy, but somehow cool at the same time.

Eh. He's kind of a skateboarder. I don't think he can do any tricks; he just kind of goes around on his board. When he was in his accident, he was going down a steep hill, lost his balance, and did a face plant.

I can't blame you for not wanting to talk to your brother. You are the little sister; older siblings generally don't want to confide in their younger siblings (except that one time he did, eh?) So asking him would probably be awkward.

Well, you gave me the impression before that you go to sleep around 10. Because to me, "going to bed" means that you go to sleep, not sit up and play video games/watch tv for another couple of hours, heh. Now I know. Did you stay up until 12, even when you were getting up at 5:30, or whatever? Have a good evening. Anyhoo...
