I wasn't going to. =D It was something I wrote. The first reads, "Freya, I am not going to show you my face, but I will show you my handwriting." =P

Can you teach me to make time for things I need to do? I watched TV because I decided there wasn't enough time left to go shopping, at that point (although really, there was; I just wouldn't have had anymore time to relax before work, and I didn't like the notion, ha.)

I know, I know. Catholicism is evil. Clearly, we want to take over the world, or something. And my favorite one is when people say that we're all child molesters, because that's definitely a fair assessment. (I'm not complaining about you, btw; I'm just running with the ball, heh.) So you go to clubs and stuff for fun, eh? Y'know what I do? Go to someone's house and sit around, playing video games or talking to people, mostly. I'm boring... I don't like crowds, though. Except at a football game or movie or something, where there's something else to distract everyone else and me.

Here ya go: Ultravox - Dancing With Tears In My Eyes. Hm. Never heard of them. And... I think Simple Minds did "Don't You Forget About Me," and Tears for Fears did "Shout." I highly recommend New Order, btw. One of my favorite bands.

So, apparently my brother ran into a poll at work the other day; he's got a bandage over his head, which does not completely cover some kind of open bruise. I guess he drove into the poll in some machine, and his head slammed against the window. I wonder how that happened; maybe somebody wasn't paying attention...

And you don't need to show my mercy, because you will be overcome. I am Corporal Punishment, after all Anyhoo...

I didn't go shopping, I ran out of time, ha. Instead, I just sat out in the living room and watched an episode or two of the Simpsons with my roommate.

So last night, I was originally going to try to go to bed at like 11 or 11:30. Then, I stayed up until 1 am. Figured there was no way I'd go to sleep. So I listened to this album I downloaded by TSOL-Their Greatest Non-hits. And now I'm listening to it again before work. It is very rare that I want to listen to a band's album again almost right after I already listened to it... TSOL is one of the original "horror-punk" bands, I think they're called. Good for Halloween! I can just imagine some kids coming to the door at the song where he's like "**** **** shit piss ****er! Yeah, we can leave that on, sonovabitch! Yeah, we're rolling, asshole!" (One of those punk rock "false starts," haha.)

Here are some 80's poppish bands that I like: They Might Be Giants, New Order, Oingo Boingo, Simple Minds, Talking Heads (they started in the 70's, though) Tears for Fears... others... List time, apparently. New Wave was fun. Of course, a lot of punk bands started in th 80's, too. The 80's were a good time for music, eh?

So you enjoy poking people, too? Hahaha, I love that. Then I wouldn't have to show any mercy, would I?

Have fun. I will be at work, so it is debatable whether that is possible for me, ha. Anyhoo...

If ever curiosity gets the better of you, then you know where to turn to with questions! I'm here to share my knowledge of all that is old skool.

Easy mode is for sissies who whore themselves to graphics and gore. Plain and simple.

And I find it easier to learn a game on a higher difficulty and struggle to learn it along the way than to master it at its easiest and then try to make that transition to the next difficulty.

Plus there are many games I play through only once. Who would want to claim beating it on Easy only?

It should, the sunovabitch! ...wait, did I just call myself a sunovabitch? Eh. Really, I probably should've just slept out on the couch or something. Sometimes, it is easier to sleep somewhere other than my bed, for some reason. Are you a good sleeper? Except for when something is bothering you? Maybe we just need to learn proper meditation...

No, you were fine. You did nothing wrong I am just evil, heh.

I also grew up listening to pop music in the 80's. And the 70's, 60's, and 50's. My parents love the Beatles, Buddy Holly, Neil Diamond, The Carpenters, etc., as well as the old Motown musical artists. Which 80's groups do you like? Furthermore, I think I might link you to some christian songs I like a lot... in fact, I will: Deathbed by Relient K; Five Iron Frenzy - Every New Day. Yay!

I should fly over there, just to poke you. Then we could get into a poking match. I wonder how skilled you are in the ways of poking and blocking poking.... It should be amusing.

I think I might wish you a good night now. Particularly since I still want to do some shopping before work, which starts an hour and a half from now, heh. Goodnight, lady! Anyhoo...

Things are okay. I think it was just because I actually wanted to get up earlier today, because I have some stuff I'd like to do before work today... Whenever I know I need to get sleep, that is when my body decides it will not fall asleep. It's really great.

I'm just teasing you. Remember; sometimes, I'm evil. I don't really think you have anything against the majority of religious people. I understood what you were trying to say. I think my favorite reaction I got out of you to this day is the one when I told you you couldn't drive, though, haha. Even though I felt bad and apologized for that one.

I actually like a fair bit of alternative christian music; it's what I grew up on, kind of. Along with secular alternative music. My brother was actually in a christian ska/swing band called The W's, and they toured a lot and were friends with one of my favorite bands ever: Five Iron Frenzy. Five Iron Frenzy were a christian ska band. They had a great side project, too, called Brave Saint Saturn. (Just to be clear, if you don't know who they are: Nightwish, TSoL, and the Vandals are not christian bands. Although one member of the Vandals is a Catholic... there is also a scandal involving him and the ex-members of the band. They formed the band before he joined, they all left, he kept the rights to the music and, for some excuse or another, claimed to have written all the songs himself and didn't pay the ex-band members royalties. Way to represent Catholicism, man.)

I am invisible so I can be sneaky, my dear. I am a ninja! I could come in and poke you in the ribs, and you wouldn't even know where it came from! Anyhoo...

I was almost awake until 6 am last night. Couldn't sleep... What's awesome is that I have to be up at 7 am tomorrow morning. Tired, tired...

Portland is home to the Portland Trail Blazers, the basketball team. It is also the "city of roses." There really isn't a whole lot to know it by. They want a professional soccer team there... I don't know how likely it is I would get a permanent job in Portland, is the thing. Probably wouldn't be much different than down here... We'll see if I'm even motivated enough to try, heh.

Heh. Those gersh dern religious people and their beliefs! Nah, I know you aren't talking about all religious people. You've said in the past that you're christian to some extent, yourself, right? But yeah; people who stop you to talk about religion can be kinda annoying. I tend to stand there and humor them, even though I'm thinking, "I already know all this..." the whole time. One time, these Jehova's Witnesses came to my door, and gave me one of their books. I think I still have it, somewhere.

We were listening to Dream Theater for a little while last night. Then we listened to Nightwish for a little while, too. I also put on some TSoL and Vandals. And Relient K... Yay, christian music, heh. Anyhoo...

I could recommend you games that would blow you away with the difficulty. OoT was great but hardly a challenge.

Then again, most games are easier in comparison. Maybe I'm just biased. I am also one of those who will never EVER play a game through on Easy. If there is a difficulty mode, I start one notch above that on my first run through. Made mastering Guitar Hero interesting.

Level 5 spell, which is in Melmond if I am correct in my recollection. I've been wrong before, though.I may be getting it mixed up with EXIT, which I think is a Level 6 spell. Not sure.

Zelda II is certainly from its own unique strand as far as the Zelda series goes, and is worth a thorough playthrough in my opinion. Getting lost will happen, as it isn't necessarily completely clear with the hints from townspeople. It certainly presents a challenge, though, and I couldn't beat the game until a few years ago. It is that tough.

Great game to have grown up with. I am personally fond of Zelda II: Adventures of Link. Most didn't like it because it very much brought in a few RPG elements, but I absolutely loved it.

Tents and Cottages, yes, but no Phoenix Downs. You have that House to revive in, and late in the game you get LIFE as a spell.

I think I summarized it best in this part of my lengthy post for "Most Underrated FF":

Your entire post lost any credibility as soon as I saw that as part of your defense of VIII. Graphics do not make a game superior, unless in one of the games you are referring to had graphics so bad that it was beyond playable. And there isn't a Final Fantasy game that had that problem. Aesthetics do not constitute superiority in a game. End of discussion.

Way too many people drop that graphics line these days. At which point their entire debate is null and void in my eyes. Pictures do not constitute a great game: storyline, characters, and gameplay does. But I sense you already understand that.

No summons, no Cid, and no Ethers in the original. You could carry 99 potions, each one curing 25-50 HP (random amount, same with Cure spells). So much more challenging, and I love me a good challenge. Which is how Seiken Densetsu III captured my heart. Too bad it still is Japan only.

Oho, so they did ruin that as well!

People wonder why I am an old skool purist! Some things just shouldn't ever be changed!

There are eight tiers of magic, with both white and black magic, and in each tier you can learn three spells of the four available (assuming you are NOT Red Mage, who can dabble in both up to about Tier 5-6, at which point they are unable to learn anything above there). The mages, as they progress in levels, gain "MP" in each spell tier. So you could cast 5 Tier 1 spells, 4 Tier 2 spells, 3 Tier 3 spells, etc. It made it so you had to choose wisely whether to nuke these wolves with that Fir2 or save the cast for a boss encounter. It made items and equipment that was capable of casting Cur2 all the more vital, because if you blew all your Cur3 spells on the way through a dungeon you would likely be raped by the boss.

I reckon kids these days hate a challenge, though.

    Haha, thank you...

And yes with the first remake (As Origins for the PlayStation) they scaled the levels to go to 99, altered the inventory system, added in Dash (can't object to that), and added in Auto-Targeting. I've not played any later remakes to know if they changed the magic system to MP based or if it is still a set number of casts per magic tier.
