I went through a phase of regular exercise. It bored me to tears. I tried it again. It still bores me to tears. Sometimes I do pilates for relaxation, or Youtube kickboxing if I'm angry. I despise jogging. I like scenery, but I like to watch it and not sweat all over it. I'm with Sartre on this one; it's a right-wing conspiracy to keep us all tired. Except exercise gives you more energy, but whatever.

I like swimming. I should do that more. I'd probably rate my fitness level as 'abysmal', but I don't really care. I can astound Germans though. I climbed Ben Nevis (UK's biggest mountain, yo) in Doc Martens and jeans and then had a cigarette at the top. The view was amazing. They were all 'lol wtf' in sandals and hiking boots. I was just, 'Scottish, yo.' I had a tuna sandwich too.

But yeah. I walk everywhere, eat like a normal person, dance like an epileptic, and hate gyms. Hooray for not being obese. Though I will admit, sometimes I look in the mirror and go, 'SHIT, MY ARMS ARE HUGE!' But then I move on to something more interesting than my arms.

I really enjoy working out. I think it's my ADHD. I can't sit still long. I run 6 miles every morning through the mission trails, evenings in the gym swimming or on the rock climbing wall. I really love surfing and wish I could do that all year around. Mountain biking is a favorite but I ended up falling off a cliff last year a wreaking my bike and going through 3 surgeries to fix everything. Haven't done that in awhile even though I got a new bike.

We have a TV we can use while working out in our gym so it's not too boring, heh. Granted, the TV is older than I am and only gets about 5 channels, but yeah. I don't mind exercising as long as I have something for my mind to focus on. I'd love to ride my bike or walk around town more but this is a fairly dangerous area for pedestrians/cyclists. Very few sidewalks and people like to go flying down the roads at 50 mph everywhere, even the back roads. It sucks.

Anyways, I've been doing my workouts every day since I last posted and I am feeling a difference. Managed to do almost a full 30 min workout on the elliptical yesterday, which was awesome. I've never been able to stay on it for that long before, so my stamina has increased somewhat. ^^ Progress keeps me motivated quite a bit.

I'm avoiding "bad" foods a lot more too. I find making one healthier choice makes me less likely to choose junk food. I'm cutting out a lot of processed foods as well and sticking to more of the fruits and veggies. It might be tougher in the winter when less stuff is in season but I'm going to try keeping to this for as long as possible.

Actually the other day while working out I saw a news story about a fitness trainer who was a former model and really in shape who decided to eat all kinds of crap and gain weight to try and feel what his clients felt. Crazy, huh? The guy packed on 90 pounds. It all went to his belly though so he was still buff then had this massive pot belly lol. He said the salty/sugary stuff really is like a drug and he actually got addicted to it. He's also got joint and heart problems from his little experiment and he has to basically start from the beginning to get back to his old self.

It makes me wonder if choosing to eat healthy foods and exercise is really just a choice or more of a lifestyle. Either way I'm always amazed by the human body's ability to adapt and change as easily as it does.

Every Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday I do kickboxing. I've stayed the same weight for about 2 years, so I'm happy. ^^ I want to start something new, but I don't really know what.. (Does yoga count? If so, I'm thinking about starting that up.)

I am a person who does everything in moderation. I believe anything taken to the extreme is only to mask ones true vulnerability, but that's a whole other story. The same applies to working out and staying healthy. I don't over do it.

I eat portioned meals and stop when I am full, I have 2-3 fruit/veggie/dairy snacks to keep my energy up, I try to drink as LOT of water, I don't keep too many sweets or soda near by, going out to eat is a rarity, and I make sure to buy healthier options of my everyday foods.....like wheat over white and lean over regular. I don't restrict myself from anything, but I am more conscious of what I eat now that I am older.

As far as exercise. I like to make cleaning an everyday thing....I tend to feel better when I am doing manual labor in some fashion and too look around at a nice clean living space. It takes me anywhere from 20 minutes to 1 1/2 hours, and I do everything from vacuuming the entire house to just doing the windows. Depends on my mood. I also like to walk my dog with my DS for about 20 minutes at least 2-3 times a week. I am pregnant right now, but as soon as I am able to go back to working out I will be doing the ball workout (for my abs and buns), and some yoga for about an hour 3 times a week.

i wrestle with sweaty men who sometimes outweigh me by 30, 40 ,or 50(sometimes more than that) pounds 3-4 times a week for an hour or two.

the pain, the joy, the failures, the success. it is no greater feeling than tapping out someone who is your superior in every aspect of the human anatomy(except the d*&c) due to your technical abilities.

thats how i keep in shape. i lift weight maybe.......twice a week sometimes more.

i also do not smoke, drink(at all), or eat any meat other than fish so i stay in really good shape physically.

Ugh, holidays. Too...many...temptations. Half of the gifts I received this year were food or food-related. Cookies, candies, cake, etc. And yes, I ate it all. I only regret some of it, though. Mostly the candy.

I may have to extend my workout time anyway, I stopped exercising for awhile due to personal issues. Mostly resolved now, but winter makes me really just not inclined to do anything at all. Probably because I get to add shoveling snow to my routine, haven't had to do that for a few years. But either way, I can't let myself get lazy now.

We acquired one of those recumbent bikes recently and man, that thing is awesome. I love using it because I can read a book or play DS/PSP while I work out. XD It's a lot easier to go for 30+ minutes when I'm able to do something like that.

I need to work out at the gym, I haven't in a while because I haven't had time, so I've been working out at home. I just tone up nothing extreme, I usually only workout my legs, and my stomach.

For legs I do lunges and step ups at home and for the gym I do squats with the weights, no more than 45 on each side I don't want to kill myself. For my stomach, usually just sit ups or something I don't know what else I can do to work out my stomach I don't work out my arms because there's no fat on them haha, also I feel like if I work out my arms too much I'll look like a man.

I remember, when I used to play volleyball, we used to share the weight room with the softball girls. Their main workout most of the time was their arms and man, they were huge O_O. The same for their legs, one of their legs was my body. I don't want to get that buff.

Haha Gypsy, you'll have to train really intensely and specifically for your arms to look like a man's arms. Just building up a little strength in your upper body will not turn you into she-hulk.

Most of my upper body workout comes from kickboxing (punches, doing the punches with weights in hand, dips, pushups, etc) and my arms are still quite pretty. There's just a little more definition in places and I really enjoy the strength that I've built up. I'm not trying to have stronger arms than a fit man (he's got testosterone that I just don't), but I want to be able to throw a good punch. And I can.

EDIT: Oh, and for your stomach: We do a lot of planks and tabletops and this thing where you sit with your knees bent and your back at a 45 degree angle, and then you move your hands from "pocket to pocket" (where a pocket would be on your pants to where one would be on the other side). If that makes sense.

My latest training regiment is kind of intense, and honestly it grinds my gear. If I didn't have to stay in shape I would let myself get fat. Every morning for the next four months I have to wake up early at about 5 am for an exhilerating 3 mile run. Once this is done we go to my trainers weight room where I do 10 sets of 10 bench press using 225 lbs(thats right bitches, bask in the awesomeness that is I). Then I have to get my squat's in pyramids using 325 lbs(pyramids is start at 10, rest for ten second, so nine rest for nine, and well you get the drift.. I wish my legs weren't so damn strong, cause then I wouldn't have to go so heavy with the weight. Then yay step-ups, this sucks for me cause I have to high step-ups, and my balance is shit that early in the morning.

As that isn't enough, everyday at 4 in the evening I have sparing pratice. It is tedious cause the same things happens. I step in the ring beat the shit outta my sparing partner, then repeat.

I can't complain to much though it could be alot worse. I won't get into but my training in high school to get in the shape I am currently in sucked. Plus the fact that I was pushing 255 lbs just made worse.

Gypsy if you want to get fit, and solid without getting bulky, then I have a good exercise for you. My coach in weight lifting made us do it alot cause it works all of your core muscles. It is called a Voll(probably spelled wrong). First you get a bar, then put your weight on it. Make sure it is the right amount of weight you can do, if you go to heavy you can hurt yourself. Pick up the bar with both hands, and do a hang clean(in case you don't know, pull the bar to your chin but before it gets there flip it so that your palms are facing up). Now with your hands bent do a front squat(simple enough just squat down as low as you can go with the bar still in your hand). Now jump up, and as you jump push press the bar towards the ceiling. It is rough at first, but it will make you pretty solid without making you manly. I saw a girls ROTC group doing these one time. God those chicks are scary, they could of easily kicked the ass of everyone in my weightlifting class...

Oh god, jump squats BY THEMSELVES are ass kickers.

As for the stomach exercise, we will go back and forth for... god, I'm not sure how long she makes us do it. We do it quickly and for a while, almost to the point where we're like, "really?" and then she makes us go into tabletop for a few counts. At least 8. She counts slow. At least, it seems that way in tabletop. And then doing plank pose with your hands on the ground or doing it with your forearms on the ground are good ones. I like doing it on my forearms because I don't strain my wrists. We do a lot of plank in my yoga class too. It's good for getting a lot of your body to work at once.

Also. A common exercise that I'm just not comfortable with: lunges. I can do them, I benefit from them, but I'm awkwardly coordinated with them. During kickboxing, the trainer wanted us to go down into a lunge, while weights were in our hands, front kick with the back foot, and then go back into the lunge. I thought I was going to fall ****ing over. I've got strong legs and good balance, but lunges **** me up. Maybe because I can't see that foot and I don't trust that I'll land properly, I don't know. But it's pretty frustrating.

I have a sheet of paper saying what exercises on what day. Sort of did it through trial and error.

First off I haven't worked out since Thanksgiving so yeah I'm getting back to it tomorrow (day off). The only workout tools I have are 2 15lbs weights and a that perfect pullup bar. Shit on it all you want but it works wonders if you're for real with it.

I work out every other day. And I change body parts enough so it doesn't overwork anything. Also I do 3 sets of everything I describe. My workouts take from 20-40 mins.

I do cardio every other workout session. I'm not a big fan of cardio so I do it enough to burn fat but not feel like I'm destroying my knees or ambition to work out.

    Arms

Slim pushups- Put your hands together by your solar plexus for when you go down so it work your tri's.

Dips- My kitchen counters are across so I prop my feet up across holding my arms tight and works wonders. Do it sloooooow, not about the number you can do as much as you think.

Pushoff Slim- The counter that I have, stand about 5 feet back and fall forward. Catch yourself before you actually fall into it with your arms only inches apart. Similar in shape of the slim pushup hence the word slim

Chinup Slim- It's a pullup, with your palms facing the ceiling. Pretty much a given.

Curls- I have 2 15lbs weights, it's always my last and since my bi's and tri's are tired. I sit down in my chair and just keep my elbows on my knees and uhh lift?

    Shoulders and back

Regular pushups- Your standard pushup. It works.

Clap pushups- Push yourself off the ground and clap your hands before you hit the ground. Not the easiest but rewarding as you get better.

Med grip pullup- It's where you hold your hands like in a fighting stance, or pointing thumbs at yourself. You can get giant traps doing these enough. I had a bulge of a neck at the end of last winter.

Pullup slim and wide- Palms facing down or out. It's much harder than a chinup. Though having visible back muscles feels sexy.

    Chest and abs

Pushups wide- spread your arms farther than your actual chest. It burns your pecks more than anything.

Pushoffs wide- Like I said before fall forward but keep your arms at a 90 degree angle so your hands in front of your chest. When you hit the counter fire back to stand, and let gravity take you again. You feel it alot faster than slim grip but it makes more change.

Chinups wide/crunch- Lift yourself (Durrr) arms spread wide (I think you get my style of naming things). When your fully up do a crunch either one slow one to burn both spots or fire off as many as you can before you have to go back down. Amazing workout.

Crunches- Standard crunches, on the final 50 I do 25 just going left and 25 going right.

It's not the best I'm sure there's better rounded but it's fine for me. It makes me feel great and works for me. At the end of it a protein shake and no shitty fast food. Maybe some scrambled eggs and wheat toast.

    'SUP LADIES.

JUST A PIC OF ME CHILLIN, SO YOU CAN SEE MY HOT BOD, AND BASK IN THE AWESOMENESS THAT IS POLK.

Most of my sexy came when I was building my time machine. Long days and nights (if you know what I'm saying. I think you do heh heh.) of physical exertion combined with a low calorie diet made me, Ben Franklin, and Abraham Lincoln ripped beyond imagination.

I wish my arms weren't so damn strong, old ladies everywhere come up and ask me to open jars and shit all the time for them it's like GAH I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS I HAVE PRESIDENTIAL STUFF TO DO GOSH.
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

    I work out with

    wait for it..

    Wii Fit

What? Isn't that for middle aged moms who don't game? Well I wanted to try it out and I happened to lose about 20 pounds in 2 weeks. Since then, because I did about 25 minutes every morning verbatim, I've memorized the exercises (A combination of the Yoga and Strength Training with a little Jogging in Place) and do them while watching TV now.

I also ride my bike regularly. Just yesterday I had quite the adventure, biking a good 12 miles out from my house (that's about 20 km) and that's just one way, I had to bike the same distance back. Felt so satisfying

I'll never be on par with some of you gym-goers. And as of right now, I'm still about 30-35 pounds overweight (according to WiiFits BMI chart), but I'm now safely below the Obese mark, and feeling great!

I love my Wii Fit! I do it about 3 times a week for about 30 minutes, but I do a daily checkup with the BMI and balance test.

My BMI told me that I was underweight, but I think it's mainly due to me not having a lot of muscle mass. I need to work on my strength training, but I like doing the Yoga more.

Totally not bragging or anything, but I am great at the Advanced Step. I suck at the balance games though. I guess that's something I gotta work on!

People laughed at work when I said I got one, but I don't care. I can feel results with it, and that's what is important to me.

I practice punching dead cows in the freezer for a few hours. It lets me vent off my frustration. Then I go in and box the heavyweight champion for 15 rounds, nothing big ya know. I do it all for my girl! (<3 Adrian)

Meier: Hey Pete, I said I started to, it just didn't end the with the same number of women. Then again this one is kind of on the outs with me if she doesn't straighten up and fly right so that means I will be back in it for the thrill of the kill. Got some in the reserves. Even got a rePETEr (<---- like that ay? AYYYYY?) on the back burner.

Block: I do like the rePETEr except it kinda makes it sound like you're going to pork Pete. No homo.
