92% of people have now gone insane and listen to either Hip Hop, Rap or R&B. If you are part of the 8% that still listen to decent music then put this in you sigy!!!
The other day I bought:
1) Black Holes and Revolations- Muse. I've been meaning to get this album for ages. I love Muse, and their latest CD is quite different from their other ones, but is still a greatly crafted piece of musical work. The singles are the stand-out ones for me... Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight and Nights of Cydonia are definate favorites off the album.
2) Hot Chip- The Warning. Only one words (well... 3 actually) got me to get this album. "Over and Over". Enough said, as it's a wicked song. Extremely catchy and the best indie-club song in ages. I've given the album a couple of listens, but THAT is the stand-out track. There are other good songs, such as "Boy From School" and "Look After Me" too.

I think the new album your thinkin about is called show your bones? I think..i have the album too. I really like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.I just bought two Cd's actually
Gold Lion (promo cd) Yeah Yeah Yeahs
and the most recent Yeah Yeah Yeahs cd...i can't remember the name
Ah that's cool you like Jeff Buckley, is that a live album of his? I'm a bit of a Jeff Buckley fan myself, the only album i have of his is Grace though. I think my favorite song would have to be either Last Goodbye or Hallelujah.Originally Posted by Casanova[OCAU]

Anywayz, just got the new Bob Dylan album, i have to say i like it a lot thus far.
I've been grooving to this album a lot lately! I like it a lot..kind of indie/electronic music kinda thing. Very cool indeed.2) Hot Chip- The Warning. Yea that's the live album. I find myself really unable to pick a couple favourties from him.. There's just so many i absolutly love, just as much as the other. Get Sketches for the My Sweetheart the drunk. Disk one has some absolute gold in it.Originally Posted by GeneralLeoCristophe

I've finally gotten round to buying Silent Alarm, the debut album from Bloc Party. I've heard their singles Helicopter, Banquet, Pioneers, So here We Are and Little Thoughs many times, as well as other songs such as Tulips on free promotional CDs. Anyway, I was happy with this album. Each song is different. Helicopter and Banquet as some know have the trademark enegetic Matt Tong drums and really contageous riffs, which I really love in songs. Others are more slow, such as So Here We Are. Theres even one which is a bit of an alternative-r&b crossover (which some call "grindie" but I refuse to say that), which although is not something I especially like, its an interesting experiment.
As the t-shirts say, "God Bless Bloc Party"

That was the last CD I bought too actually, I think. It was like two weeks ago now, or so, but eh... I forgot to post about it.Originally Posted by Lazer

Wuv, Yer Mom
Showbread- No Sir, Nihilsm is not Practical.
Excellent CD recommended to all those who enjoy raw rock.

I actually liked the version of my hero, the part where the slow pion part goes and then it speeds up and the guitar comes back in. I thought that was pretty tight. But, yeah the Everlong cover was brutal. Its in my top 5 favorite songs of all time, but that cover was just shall we say "choaded". Overall not a bad CD but I was still disappointed.Originally Posted by Taco

I bought a CD today - every song ever recorded in the short life of the wonderfully talented blues legend Robert Johnson, all on one CD. I'm listening to it right now, and really liking it; I like the way he sings, his lyrics, and the steady beat he keeps with his guitar. He could really play that thing.
The last one I bought before that was So Damn Happy - Loudon Wainwright's live CD. Superb stuff.
I love Robert Johnson with a passion. I have King of the Delta Blues, I don't think that's every song of his, but it's most of his well known stuff. I know they have a million different versions of the album though.Originally Posted by Shiva
A few new albums i have acquired recently are
1. Peter Bjorn and John - Writer's Block
2. Yo La Tengo - I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass
3. Midlake - The Trials Of Van Occupanther
All are great albums..i'm a longtime Yo La Tengo fan and i am falling in love with their newest album. Midlake is really chill music, takes a lot from 60s and 70s soft rock and acoustic acts, and Peter Bjorn and John are a indie rock band out of Sweden. I have their songs "Amsterdam" and "Young Folks" stuck in my head right now. Loving them.

Lacuna Coil - Karmacode...I never really used to listen to them until I bought this one...took me many times of listening to it before I eventually warmed up to them. Now I'm hunting for their older stuff!
"I'm Cid.
I invented the airship.
I'm famous!"
And don't forget my wonderful TFFF brother, postalblowfish7!
My adorably shy li'l nephew, Doughboy!

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Trout Mask Replica
Elvis Costello - Armed Forces (this one was a Christmas present for someone)
I haven't really gotten into Trout Mask yet, but it was produced by Frank Zappa, and I'd heard good things about it, so I thought I'd pick it up cheap. I have The Spotlight Kid and Clear Spot by Beefheart, which I enjoy.
Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth.
A solid prog-metal album and you can hear the great production value in each song.
My last cd was Korn see you on the other side
the last cd i bought was lacuna coil comailes so far like all the songs on the cd.
I just bought new cd. Eric Clapton: The Cream Of Clapton
You just don't get it. There isn't a thing I don't cherish!

The Last cd I bought is 3121 by Prince. Its probably a pretty good cd but i'm giving it a break because I wore it out when I first bought it.
The Devil Wears Prada: Dear Love, A Beautiful Discord
An amazing metal core album. I recommend it to all who aren't easily turned off by band names.

Last one I REMEMBER is The Strokes-First Impressions of Earth. I love the Strokes.
Next CD I want to get: Incubus-Light Grenades. Incubus is my FAVORITE band of all time.
Psychotrance 2 by Darren Emerson
The last CD I actually bought, as opposed to downloaded, was Public Enemy's "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back", because PE is excellent, and that's just a classic rap album in general. If we're including downloaded, the last album I got was Diamond Head's debut, "Lightning To The Nations".
