I just purchased the Shin's new album, Wincing the Night Away. Great stuff for sure, nothing too new it comes to the Shin's sound, but a great listen overall. I definitely don't think it will top Oh, Inverted World for me though.

I would never download my stuff, I feel more comfortable having a disc copy.

Anyone miss the old frontman of Norma Jean? Well, The Chariot is his superior band that I recommend to all Metalcore fans. Also, this CD is known to have the coolest title of all time:

"Someday, In The Event That Mankind Actually Figures Out What It Is That This World Revolves Around, Thousands of people Are Going To Be Shocked and Perplexed to Find Out It Was Not Them. Sometimes, This Includes Me."

Today I bought Klaxons debeut album- Myths of the Near Future, yup, on its release day!

It got 9/10 in the NME (unusual for a debeut to do that well), and I have to say it is ace! I think that every song could be a potential single, each with the great eerie Klaxons harmonies, and the funky yet sometimes quite dark instruments. Atlantis to Interzone is a song of memories for me, as the keyboard used we used to have in our school music classes in year 7,8, and 9. We always used to play on the DJ presets, which are used in this song. Those muic teachers got so pissed off with us for that, yet that song used those buttons and made a great song with it which was MTV2's Track of the Year 2006. Magick has the same errieness from when I first heard it, and Golden Skans is still a beautiful song. Gravitys Rainbow is about ejaculation! The last song, Four Horsemen of 2012 is great, with much rockier guitars and with a kind of futuristic sound, even wierder than Magick.

Well, I didn't actually buy this cd. It was a gift from my boyfriend after he got back from SoCal. And, it's not new. I just recently found it, after losing it shortly after I got it. So, I basically listened to it for the second time ever, and after almost a year.

Brights Eyes: Letting Off The Happiness
Everyone knows Conor Oberst as the "Emo King" or some junk, but I wouldn't call it that. This cd is just full of catchy tunes, and some more serious topics. I really don't know how to rate this cd or describe it very well seeing as how I've only listened to it twice, but it is amazing. It was recorded on what I believe to have been a 4 track recorder on some songs, and a 6 track on others. So, it's not professional studio work, but still amazing. Everything is so raw, and he brings in various friends to create ambient noises and what-not. The best songs on the cd, in my opinion, are "Pull My Hair" "Touch" and "Padraic My Prince". It's basically right on par both musically and recording wise with the album he released after this one - "Fevers and Mirrors".

I have all his albums, and this one is my favorite so far. "Pull My Hair" is my all-time favorite.

Yeah Bright Eyes is great, I don't like emo so I consider it a brand of disrespect to call him so. He's definitely one of the most talented individuals around these days, i mean he's been involved in music since he was 13! I think as a lyricist, he's in a class of his own. To believe that he was being compared as the Bob Dylan of our generation is saying a lot. Letting Off the Happiness is one of my favorites of his, along with Fevers and Mirrors and Lifted Or the Story Is in the Soil..

Anyhoo, I just recently got Rogue Galaxy Premium Arrange, an updated soundtrack to the RPG i am currently playing through. I liked the soundtrack as it is, but this takes some of the industries greatest composers and arrangers from Kenji Ito, Shinji Hosoe, Noriyuki Iwadare, Motoi Sakuraba to my favorite game composer, Yasunori Mitsuda (among many others) to add their personal touch to Level 5 composer Tomohito Nishiura's original score and album. All in all, a great listen if you enjoyed the game's soundtrack. I especially like Mitsuda adding his celtic touch to the Rogue Galaxy theme. *two thumbs up*

Today I bought A Weekend In The City, Bloc Party's new album which came out today. It is quite different from Silent Alarm, but still has that good old Bloc Party feel to it. The pounding drums, medolic guitars, travelling bass, Kele's beautiful vocals and the equally as lively backing vocals from Gordon and Matt. The album starts with a vocal solo, with Kele's vocals giving an eerie yet calm feel... until Matt's drums kick in, turning the song from a lullaby to a great edgy first track. Each song is great, just what i'd expect from the Party. The lyrics are much more political and about the things which happen it today's society. Alienation, fear and terrorism being some of the subjects touched upon. I feel its a beautiful album.

I bought an album on Friday. I don't buy CD's as much as I used to but I had to get this one. It's HIM's 'Razorblade Romance'. It's actually really good. I have listened to it a couple of times already and I love it. My favourite song on there would have to be 'Join Me'. It's a really nice sounding song. It was cheap as well so I got it. They had another CD of theirs as well. I think I may have to get that one as well.

I didn't know if I actually wanted to buy it, even though I really liked their last album a lot. I didn't know if I liked all the piano that I was hearing in the new album-it almost sounded less like Christian Alternative, and more like Christian Worship. Of course, I'd eventually have to give in, as per they're one of my favorite bands anyway, and "Deathbed" is finally what did it for me. That song is 11 minutes long, and powerful. I also like "Faking My Own Suicide," "The Best Thing," and "Forgiven," definitely. Although when I first read the track listings, I thought "Crayons Can Melt On Us For All I Care" was going to be my favorite, simply for the title. Anyhoo...

Just bought a secondhand copy of "Alkahest" by Paul Chain from amazon.de.
I got it for 10 euro and I haven't been listening to anything but this baby since I came home from work and got it from the mailbox. First half of the CD has vocals in some strange phonetic language by Paul Chain himself and the second half as vocals sung by Lee Dorrian from Cathedral. Both halves are awesome in their own way.
