I didn't buy these, but received them for Christmas, if that counts at all:

Loudon Wainwright III - Attempted Mustache

Muse - Origin of Symmetry

David Bowie - Aladdin Sane

I Am Kloot - I Am Kloot

I Am Kloot - Gods and Monsters

Tenacious D - The Pick of Destiny

Just got myself 2 CD's. "Rhymes Of Lunacy" and "Life, Death, And Other Morbid Tales". Both by Memento Mori. I've been meaning to get these babies for quite some time, being a sucker for Messiah Marcolin and all, and I'm extremely fond of both so far.

It's a bit faster paced than Candlemass, but apart from that not horribly different. And Messiah Marcolin is as great as ever hehe.

I guess if I had to say it was an Eminem CD, years ago. I never really buy CD's anymore. I either download or purchase from iTunes for the trendy lil iPod I use at work.

Edit:
I take it back! I bought the Breaking Benjamin album "Phobia" and 30 Seconds to Mars "A Beautiful Lie" about a month ago. I listen to rap very seldom now.. I have been converted

I bought that several months ago. I have to say I think it's a pretty ace CD. Theyre bringing back the good old Led Zeppelin days and giving it a big sweep of new. Definatly one of my favorite 2006 albums.

I bought Red Hot Chilli Peppers: Greatest Hits last week for £2.99 or something in Woolworths. Complete bargain for such a good best of compilation!

Also, for christmas I got the latest NME: Essential Bands compilation, which again is ace and full of a lot of my favorite modern bands.

Yesterday I picked up the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's only non-Christmas album (to-date), "Beethoven's Last Night." From the one or two tracks I've heard from it, I'm REALLY excited for it, given how much I love them in general.

So, I totally bought Reel Big Fish's live album, "Our Live Album Is Better Than Your Live Album." I am reminded once again of how much Reel Big Fish kicks ass as I listen to this. I just love their style; their musicianship, their lyrics, their jokes. I appreciate that they've stuck to their roots and stayed with the ska sound, while so many other bands have "moved on" to keyboards, or something.

Some people say that Reel Big Fish has no talent, and should have been doomed to playing cover songs in some bar somewhere. I say that that person must not be talking about the same band I'm talking about. Or maybe it comes down to opinions, in which case mine is better than his, because I said so. Take my word for it. (I only kid.)

Reel Big Fish may not be my favorite band ever, but they are probably the coolest. Anyhoo...

I also got a Joy Electric album last week. More of the same, which I enjoy. Crazy electronica with weird beats and strange sound effects. La la la...

Wuv, Yer Mom

EDIT: Actually... Reel Big Fish started out as three piece or something, didn't they? Like, under a different name, I think. Oh well...

Yes, Reel Big Fish is undeniably the shit.

Anyway, I finally started buying ICP CDs (instead of confiscating them from my friends and never giving them back XD), and started with "The Amazing Jeckel Brothers". This one has been my favorite for a while now, and is quite a good listen. Most of the songs are hilarious (like "I Want My Shit" and "Mad Professor"), and all of them have good beats. Violent J & Shaggy may not be the best lyricists on the planet, but they manage to get their point across and manage to make it entertaining. Wrapping "that wicked shit" around a deeper overall meaning.

This joker card refers to the Jeckel Brothers, two jugglers (named Jack "The Sinister" and Jake "The Just") who are the last step in the Carnival of Carnage. Jake juggles as Jack throws more balls into the mix, each one representing a sin you've committed in hopes of fumbling Jake's routine. If this happens, you're dropped into Hell's Pit, if he finishes the routine, however, the gates of Shangri-La open and you enter. Pretty deep meaning beneath all that.

One particularly hilarious part is in the track "Mad Professor".

Guy: Hey uh, you call for a wrecka?
J: Yeah, come on in.
Guy: Aight, I got the truck right there outside... lemme just go ahead and--*CLANK* OW Mothafucka! Did you hit me with a frying pan or somethin'? *CLANK* Ow, man! That shit hurt! *CLANK* What the hell you doin?
J: GET BACK HERE!
Guy: Ahhh! This mothafucka tryin' to kill me! *CLANK*

Has anyone in this family ever even seen a chicken?

A few days ago, to celebrate my student loan's return, I purchased:

David Bowie - Black Tie White Noise
David Bowie - Low
Led Zeppelin - II
Led Zeppelin - III

I like them all. Black Tie White Noise is very different to any of the Bowie I've heard already, but it's growing on me. Low is superb, I like the idea of it having a first half and a second half. Led Zeppelin are just Led Zeppelin. Goddamn.

So, today I picked up Heroes by Bowie for £4... supposedly.

The guy was in a bit of a hurry to get the shut up shop for the night, so he rushed a little when extracting the CD to put in the case.

It wasn't until I got home that I realised he'd given me Lodger. OMGAZZ. And in the Heroes case. Next time I'm up I'll either switch CDs or switch cases.

Lodger's pretty good though, now that I've listened to it.

Heh, looks above, Heroes is classic, too bad you got the wrong CD. Great Zeppelin too, I've got their entire discography, I'd say III and Physical Graffiti are my two favorite albums.

I recently purchased Tropicália: A Brazilian Revolution In Sound. Words can't even begin to describe my love for this CD! It's a collection of the 60's Brazilian music form, featuring the greats such as Os Mutantes, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, and Tom Ze, among many. Listening to this music always puts me a in a joyous and happy mood.

The last CD I bought was....Morcheeba: Platinum. It's alright; in a word, mellow. Ah, the play.com sale...

Recently puchased One Man Guy: Loudon Wainwright III, 1982-86. This is a great CD. I implore you all to buy it. You'll love it. I love it.

23. #173
Yea Morcheeba is.. interesting. I find myself listening to more of groove armada than morcheeba personally though..

I bought Foo Fighters - Skin and Bones. I have to say I'm a fan of it. I quite liked the whole acoustic thing they had going.

I love Midnite Vultures, best Beck cd, hands down.

My most recent purchase was Heart - Dreamboat Annie
I'm a total 60's/70's music fan, and I love Crazy on You/Magic Man so much. The cd was cheap, so it was totally worth it. I'm still excited about it

27. #177
^Looks above^ Yeah Midnight Vultures is great, I love Beck, it's always been hard for me to choose his absolute best album though. I've really been liking his newest "The Information," "Odelay" and "Sea Change" are up there too though. And i'm a big 60s/70s rock fan so rock on to that!

I just purchased David Crosby's (of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young) debut solo album, "If Only I Could Remember My Name." Anyone who is into CSNY should check it out, it's a masterpiece from one of the biggest forerunners in the 60's folk rock movement that started in LA. Features Graham Nash and Neil Young, as well as Jerry Garcia and Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead.

Yeah, man. Stealing CD's from the library so much worse than downloading them.

Ch-yeah. o_o

I recently purchased...Well, i haven't really purchased anything recently, except the Stevie Ray Vaughan song books and album tabs. That's music. Therefore it counts.

Hypocrisy's "Virus" album.

This is probably my favourite Hypocrisy album; the songs are all seriously different, and hardly have any similarities. I guess that's another good reasn to love that band so much.

My favourite song is probably "Blooddrenched"........my Last.FM would agree.
