I'm going to be lame and do nine because I simply cannot split position 10 between three other games.
9. Resident Evil 4
I've played it only once and very recently. The true test will be to see if it's nearly as fun the second time as it was the first. The only horror game I've ever played, Resident Evil 4 has excellent gameplay, average storyline and characters and an average sound track. There are some problems, such as difficult camera angles and the main character's lack of mobility, but you get used to it and enjoy the game hugely. A little romance would have been nice at the end, but you can't have everything.
8. Fire Emblem
One of the few games I've played on Gameboy Advance. Very similar to Shining Force which is another one of my favourite games. Fire Emblem has such a great gameplay, excellent storyline and characters and a suprisingly good sound track for a GBA based game. I played this game almost non-stop, only sleep interupting me. One of the most replayable games ever. Hector, Lyn and Elliwood are classic game characters.
7. Dragon Quest VIII
What a find this game was. My brother got it off Ebay after hearing some good things. Asked me if I wanted to chip in, I had a look but wasn't that interested. When we got it, I loved it and he'll never let it down. A great game using an interesting form of anime like graphics. Great gameplay, great soundtrack, excellent storyline and characters. One of the most underated RPGs.
6. Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos
The best Real Time Stradegy ever made. Excellent gameplay, Excellent storyline and characters and a great soundtrack. This game is sooooo good. Probably the best Multiplayer as well with games like "Dota" and others. I had the burnt version of this that didn't let me play online. I paid 70$ for the real version so I could play online. Best decision I ever made.
5. Final Fantasy X
Was the first game I played on PS2. Great game. Excellent gameplay, Great storyline and characters, great sound track. Though if I were to score WAR3 and FFX, I would probably give WAR3 a higher score. The reason for that is because WAR3 is actually a better game. However, FFX to me had so much heart and had a more profound effect on my gaming life. Plus, it's a role play and gets extra points.
4. Final Fantasy XII
Probably the easiest game in my top 10. FFXII had excellent gameplay, great storyline and characters and a great soundtrack. Great flow and user friendyless. A few truly great characters (Gabranth being my second favourite game character ever). It's a game I feel I could play over and over and never get board of.
3. Final Fantasy IX
The best soundtrack ever. Great gameplay, Great story and characters and an excellent soundtrack. Final Fantasy IX, though not the most popular of the FFs, really should be up there. It's such a great game, that has so much character and randomness. So much heart, set in a great time period, I love it to bits. Excellent ending and villain.
2. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
The perfect game. This is the perfect game. Very close to taking the No.1 Spot. Metal Gear Solid is such a great game that it's ridiculous. Ok it's not perfect, there is some camera angle issues, but everything else is ridiculously good. Excellent gameplay, Excellent story and characters and a great soundtrack. The most realitsic game ever made.
1. Final Fantasy VII
I dont like hanging out in the FF7 section of the forum because it's home to hundreds of fanboy inspired threads. However, it is my favourite game ever. Excellent gameplay, Excellent story and characters and Excellent soundtrack. Final Fantasy VII made me fall in love with games, Role plays and Final Fantasy. I owe it all to FF7, the only game deserving a 10/10.
Thanks for reading if you were bothered.
