I'm going to be lame and do nine because I simply cannot split position 10 between three other games.

    9. Resident Evil 4

I've played it only once and very recently. The true test will be to see if it's nearly as fun the second time as it was the first. The only horror game I've ever played, Resident Evil 4 has excellent gameplay, average storyline and characters and an average sound track. There are some problems, such as difficult camera angles and the main character's lack of mobility, but you get used to it and enjoy the game hugely. A little romance would have been nice at the end, but you can't have everything.

    8. Fire Emblem

One of the few games I've played on Gameboy Advance. Very similar to Shining Force which is another one of my favourite games. Fire Emblem has such a great gameplay, excellent storyline and characters and a suprisingly good sound track for a GBA based game. I played this game almost non-stop, only sleep interupting me. One of the most replayable games ever. Hector, Lyn and Elliwood are classic game characters.

    7. Dragon Quest VIII

What a find this game was. My brother got it off Ebay after hearing some good things. Asked me if I wanted to chip in, I had a look but wasn't that interested. When we got it, I loved it and he'll never let it down. A great game using an interesting form of anime like graphics. Great gameplay, great soundtrack, excellent storyline and characters. One of the most underated RPGs.

    6. Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos

The best Real Time Stradegy ever made. Excellent gameplay, Excellent storyline and characters and a great soundtrack. This game is sooooo good. Probably the best Multiplayer as well with games like "Dota" and others. I had the burnt version of this that didn't let me play online. I paid 70$ for the real version so I could play online. Best decision I ever made.

    5. Final Fantasy X

Was the first game I played on PS2. Great game. Excellent gameplay, Great storyline and characters, great sound track. Though if I were to score WAR3 and FFX, I would probably give WAR3 a higher score. The reason for that is because WAR3 is actually a better game. However, FFX to me had so much heart and had a more profound effect on my gaming life. Plus, it's a role play and gets extra points.

    4. Final Fantasy XII

Probably the easiest game in my top 10. FFXII had excellent gameplay, great storyline and characters and a great soundtrack. Great flow and user friendyless. A few truly great characters (Gabranth being my second favourite game character ever). It's a game I feel I could play over and over and never get board of.

    3. Final Fantasy IX

The best soundtrack ever. Great gameplay, Great story and characters and an excellent soundtrack. Final Fantasy IX, though not the most popular of the FFs, really should be up there. It's such a great game, that has so much character and randomness. So much heart, set in a great time period, I love it to bits. Excellent ending and villain.

    2. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

The perfect game. This is the perfect game. Very close to taking the No.1 Spot. Metal Gear Solid is such a great game that it's ridiculous. Ok it's not perfect, there is some camera angle issues, but everything else is ridiculously good. Excellent gameplay, Excellent story and characters and a great soundtrack. The most realitsic game ever made.

    1. Final Fantasy VII

I dont like hanging out in the FF7 section of the forum because it's home to hundreds of fanboy inspired threads. However, it is my favourite game ever. Excellent gameplay, Excellent story and characters and Excellent soundtrack. Final Fantasy VII made me fall in love with games, Role plays and Final Fantasy. I owe it all to FF7, the only game deserving a 10/10.

Thanks for reading if you were bothered.

    10. Final Fantasy III

This is the high point of the Final Fantasy NES trilogy. It was Japan exclusive until the DS remake in 2006. The soundtrack has been changed from chip music to Final Fantasy IX quality synthesized orchestral music. The same went for Final Fantasy I and II.

    9. Final Fantasy V

This is the low point of the Final Fantasy SNES trilogy. However, it exemplified the Job system, effectively introducing new classes. The song title "Dear Friends" was lent as the title of the first Final Fantasy orchestral concert "Dear Friends: Music from Final Fantasy." The Final Fantasy V soundtrack sounds good, but rather moody.

    8. Final Fantasy IV

This is my first Final Fantasy game ever. I was introduced to Final Fantasy in 1995, when I was in high school. This was the only Final Fantasy game I ever played until late 2000. Final Fantasy IV introduced Active Time Battle, which I like better than the battle system used in the Final Fantasy NES trilogy. Final Fantasy IV is getting remade a la Final Fantasy III DS.

    7. Final Fantasy VI

This is my favorite old school Final Fantasy game, and the high point of the Final Fantasy SNES trilogy. Classic characters include Terra, Locke, and Shadow. It has references to Star Wars. Final Fantasy VI was praised for its graphics at the time of its release, and also for its soundtrack. I love the Final Fantasy soundtrack myself, but not as much as the Final Fantasy X soundtrack. Nobuo Uematsu said that the Final Fantasy VI soundtrack was his favorite effort.

    6. SimCity 3000

This is the second best of my second favorite video game series. This was also my second SimCity game. I was in college when this game came out. It has introduced new interesting concepts.

    5. Star Wars: Empire at War

Star Wars: Empire at War takes place between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. I am so addicted to playing this Star Wars computer game. I like the Forces of Corruption expansion pack as well. I usually play as the Rebel Alliance, and sometimes the Zann Consortium in the expansion pack, but never as the Galactic Empire.

    4. SimCity 4

This is the best of my second favorite video game series, next to Final Fantasy. SimCity 4 introduced the Region feature, so that cities are no longer built in isolation. It has the most complex gameplay concept of any SimCity game. It introduced the day-and-night cycle. It is closer to the real world than its predecessors. SimCity Societies did not live up to the quality of SimCity 4. The title SimCity 5 can be reused for a future SimCity title. I was introduced to SimCity on the same year I was introduced to Final Fantasy, hence 1995, but one month after. My first SimCity game was SimCity 2000.

    3. Final Fantasy X-2

This is the sequel to Final Fantasy X. It is the most underrated Final Fantasy game ever. It has received a mixed reception. Criticizing Final Fantasy X-2 for T&A content is unacceptable to me. Final Fantasy X-2 has brought the Job system to new heights.

    2. Final Fantasy XII

Final Fantasy XII is close to taking the no. 1 spot among my favorite video games. I have been hooked on this game ever since the first 10 hours. I never get tired of this game. It is very user friendly, and there are no random encounters. Crystals fit in the best for save points, instead of spheres as in Final Fantasy X. Final Fantasy XII also has a descriptive Bestiary system, which lets to read descriptions on the enemies as well as Sage Knowledge (additional information on the world of Ivalice). Final Fantasy XII is the first Final Fantasy game to receive a perfect score from Famitsu and the second Square Enix game to do so (Vagrant Story being the first).

    1. Final Fantasy X

Yes, this is my favorite video game ever. It has the best work of Nobuo Uematsu. I listen to the Final Fantasy X soundtrack on a regular basis. It has great characters like Tidus, Auron, Yuna, and Rikku. Suteki Da Ne is my favorite video game song, especially the orchestral version. I did a karaoke performance of Suteki Da Ne myself. I played To Zanarkand on the piano. I listen to the Final Fantasy X soundtrack regularly, at home, and someone else's home, and on the road. The story is one of the best. Final Fantasy X received a mixed reception, albeit positive, at the time of its release. The Sphere Grid is one of the best leveling systems ever, and one that I like. Like Final Fantasy VII (what many users say), it deserves a 10/10. Final Fantasy XIII may overtake Final Fantasy X as my favorite video game, because of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

    HONORABLE MENTIONS

Final Fantasy I - This is the first installment of my favorite video game series. The original version's gameplay was cumbersome, but for the remakes, this is not the case. I am glad the gameplay was streamlined, and the soundtrack updated. The gameplay was modernized in the GBA version. I prefer the PSP version, because it has both the gameplay of the GBA version and the soundtrack of the Final Fantasy Origins version.

Final Fantasy II - This is the low point of my favorite video game series. I still like this game though. It has a somewhat interesting leveling system. However, the story is the worst of all Final Fantasy games. It is a tragic Final Fantasy game. I do not like the original version. Like Final Fantasy I for the same reasons, I prefer the PSP version.

Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu - It is my favorite Nintendo game ever. Classic characters include Sigurd, Cuan, Levin, Lex, Jamka, Ayra, Celice, Oifey, Leaf, and Shanan. I was in high school when this game was released exclusively in Japan. I discovered this game in 2002. Ayra has been my favorite Nintendo character since the GameCube days, thus overtaking Luigi from the Super Mario series. She introduced the Swordmaster class, which has become my favorite Fire Emblem class. Because of that, my favorite character in each Fire Emblem game is usually a Swordmaster. I praise Ayra so much that I most wanted her in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, as well as Sigurd who is the main character, but sadly, that request was shot down on several occasions.

Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken - This is the first Fire Emblem game released in North America. Popular characters include Elwood, Hector, Lyndis, Sain, Guy, Jaffar, Raven, and Karel. Lyndis is announced to appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, sadly as an Assist Trophy. I am very shocked about this Assist Trophy announced, not only for Lyndis, but also for Punch-Out!'s Little Mac. I will not be playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Melee will be my last Super Smash Bros. game.

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones - As of now, this is my last Fire Emblem game. It is a beginner's Fire Emblem game. It revived the gameplay concept of the Japan-only game NES game Fire Emblem: Gaiden.

SimCity 2000 - This is my first SimCity game. It introduced concepts like education, health, water, what not. It changed the perspective to isometric perspective, which would also be used in SimCity 3000 and SimCity 4.

Great thread. Going on the VG's ive played.

10 - Conkers Bad Fur Day (N64) A beauty. One of my all time favourites for the N64. Very original in my eyes, a funny game about an average guy that gets caught up in everybody elses problems. Hilarious script, great multiplayer. Overall, fantastic game.

9 - Final Fantasy IX (PSX) Conveniently placed at number 9. But definatley a keeper. A great game, great story, great characters, and a great soundtrack. Definatley a favourite.

8 - Pokemon Gold/Silver (GBC) Man i miss these classics. Red and Blue were good, but when i got Silver version, i was absolutley rapt. Hooked me for weeks, but nothing topped the upgrades to colour, real time, sweet new pokemon. And of course, kicking your mates ass over the weekend.

7 - Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge (PC) - I was always a big fan of the RTS games, but this one takes the cake easily. Cool storyline, and really comical(in a good way) troops, weapons and tanks.

6 - Final Fantasy VIII (PSX) Had an absolute beauty of a storyline, which really made it worth playing. Absolutley loved the twists the game took, and all the sidequests.

5 - Super Smash Bros Melee (GC) I loved this game, and still do. One of the few games where i think the sequel was better than the original. But 26 characters, a multitude of stages, heaps of wacky items, heaps of play modes AND Link in the one game, is quite simply, extraordinary.

4 - Final Fantasy X (PS2) My favourite game for the PS2, and a pearler of a game. Great story, the graphics were surpreme, this game kept me hooked for ages, since i was always so keen to see what happened next. Great game.

3 - Crash Team Racing (PSX) Very underrated in my opinion. Easily the best kart game. Toppled Mario Kart in my opinion. Cool characters, cool items, but it was good since it appealed to Single and Multiplayer, where most kart games are only enjoyable in Multi-mode. My favourite racing game, and a pity that its sequel (Crash Nitro Kart) completley wrecked the Crash Racing credibility.

2 - Star Fox Adventures (GC) Another underrated, but a real good game that i loved playing. It had a great storyline, and good graphics to accompany it. A stunning environment, it looked very nice. Was let down by Star Fox Assault, an overall disappointment.

1 - Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time (N64) Just gets the nod. An absolute gold game, which i recommend to anybody looking for a weekend indoors. The story was great, plenty of action, plenty of quests, and Link? Whats not to like. Helped by solid sequels like Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess.

    1. Earthbound - My absolute favorite game. Awesome gameplay and storyline mixed in with tongue-in-cheek humor and much more, a must play RPG game. On a side note I predict that the Dejap patch for the sequel will be finished up by this summer.

    2. Seiken Densetsu 3 - As Psiko stated eariler, this game is simply the shiznit, having endless replayability with all the different classes and such. The story and even the bosses varied by who is the main character for each game.

    3. Final Fantasy IV - One of my favorite FF's. The story, gameplay, music, and everything else is spot-on. The GBA version added a whole new endgame element of selecting different characters as your final team to take on the boss.

    4. Front Mission - A never before released SNES RPG by Square, you pilot a giant robot-mech thingie called "Wanzer" as you travel around and work for the a special operations group called the "Carrion Crow." Lots of customizing with different Wanzers and Pilots make this game very replayable.

    5. Metal Gear Solid - Another unique game with a storyline that should be made into a movie, you play as Solid Snake as you sneak and infiltrate into a facility as you try to stop the weapon of mass destruction known as Metal Gear.

    6. Star Ocean: Second Story - Awesome storyline, great gameplay and multiple main characters

    7. Dragon Warrior 6 - My God, hunting for a copy of this game over the internets was one of the better decisions I have made. I can't even begin to describe how good this game is. You just need to go out and find it, especially if you like Job system of FF5 and stuff.

    8. .hack - One of the coolest ideas ever to pull off in a video game...Playing a simulated MMORPG game, with your friend as one of the most BA characters known throughout all the servers. The storyline will keep you glued to your seat as you travel through the 60+ hours between the four games. Plot twists up the ying-yang.

    9. Final Fantasy Tactics - An RPG with a challenge, made by Square you say?! Blasphemy! Yes I thought this game had a decent challenge, but even between all the level-grinding, JP building essence of it, there was a deep storyline that was quite unlike any other at it's time.

    10. Guilty Gear X2 - One of the toughest, fast-paced and most rewarding fighting games I have ever laid my fingers on. Each Character has a unique niche about them that makes the game's story worthwhile, and the fighting is intense, like balls-to-the-wall intense.

    10: Buishudo Blade
    Console: PS
    Graphics: 7/10
    Soundtrack: 6/10
    Gameplay: 5/10
    Replay value: 8/10
    Genre of game: Action Fighter

Ok to start off I am not big on fighters, just not realistic enough I guess. But this game is in my top ten because it is a believable fighter. One hit can mean a kill or loss of bodily functions. The graphics we alright, story was very short but with the arena mode I could play this game for hours on end trying to unlock all of the secrets.

    9: Suikoden Series
    Console: PS,PS2
    Graphics: 8.5/10
    Soundtrack: 9/10
    Gameplay: 9/10
    Replay value: 8/10
    Genre of game: RPG

100+ characters in every game, enticing stories, numerous weapon upgrades, and a vast world to explore. Many hours of side quests and a lot of mini-games contained with in. I haven’t found one of this particular series that I can say that I do not like.

    8: Secret of Mana
    Console: SNES
    Graphics: 6.5/10
    Soundtrack: 5.5/10
    Gameplay: 9/10
    Replay value: 10/10
    Genre of game: Classic RPG

Just an all around good game. I love the over all appeal of this title, boy sets out to save the world and follow his fate. Alight graphics but the over all story well makes up for it. The only thing that got to me was the repetitive sound track

    7: Legend of Zelda
    Console: NES
    Graphics: 7/10
    Soundtrack: 4.5/10
    Gameplay: 8/10
    Replay value: 10/10
    Genre of game: Classic RPG

Come on who hasn’t played this game? I put it in my tops because it to me was my first RPG. I love this game it is what got me hooked and anytime my RPG dedication waivers I pick it back up and give it a run through again and my loyalty regains its former level. Plus the simplicity of it just makes it that much more appealing when I really don’t want to have to put a whole lot of though into a game.

    6:God of War
    Console: PS2
    Graphics: 10/10
    Soundtrack: 7.5/10
    Gameplay: 9.5/10
    Replay value: 9/10
    Genre of game: Action

Hack and slash your way through hundreds of hellish minions!!! Even though the game’s story line is short it is still a great way to take out some aggression. The visuals through out both games where fantastic and personally I thought ahead of the pack. Plus it has 2 of my favorite things….. puzzles and stratagy!!!! Yay.

    5: Silent Hill Series
    Console: PS, PS2
    Graphics: 8.5/10
    Soundtrack: 6/10
    Gameplay: 8/10
    Replay value: 8/10
    Genre of game: Survival horror

This is a great series for a quick fix of fright mixed in with some difficult puzzles and mind blowing story lines. The first time I played part 1 I was blown away never had I seen a game with such, well for lack of a better word, mood. I was baffled and amazed as I played though all of them. Was kind of disappointed with the room but over all in comparison to other games like this series it still stood out of the croud.

    4: Resident Evil 4
    Console: PS2
    Graphics: 7/10
    Soundtrack: 6/10
    Gameplay: 8/10
    Replay value: 8/10
Genre of game: Survival horror/ Shooter

I am going to start off by saying that I love the series but this one sticks out the most (the rest of the series would be my number 11). It is just a fresh face on an awesome series the bad guys are more challenging (at first) then the series predecessors. The only real flaw I found was with the ending, wasn’t bad, just couldn’t call it great. The action I found to be very amusing along with all of the secrets. Game play was incredible (agree with the previous sighting issues). There are so many things to do outside of the main story. Love the shooting range and all of the secret missions. It to me surpasses all other survival horrors and shooters

    3: Xenogears
    Console: PS
    Graphics: 8/10
    Soundtrack: 9/10
    Gameplay: 10/10
    Replay value: 10/10
    Genre of game: RPG

Ok I am going to start by saying this game was SERIOUSLY underrated due to the fact that it was released around the same time as FFVII. Being part 6 to a series and it being the first of the series to be released it originally made me wonder what the heck happened to the others in the series (HINTS xenosaga series- props!!!) but to me this game was on equal grounds to FFVII (if not exceeded). The story kicks some serious Arse, the characters are very well rounded and the graphics for the time where awesome.

    2: Cronotrigger
    Console: SNES, PS
    Graphics: 10/10
    Soundtrack: 9.5/10
    Gameplay: 9.5/10
    Replay value: 10+/10
    Genre of game: Classic RPG

What more needs to be said about this game then what has already been stated! It is a cult classic and if you haven’t played it trust me and go find a copy of it buy it (no limit on price) and play it!

    1: Final Fantasy Series
    Console: NES, SNES, PS, PS2
    Graphics: 10/10
    Soundtrack: 10/10
    Gameplay: 10/10
    Replay value: 9/10
    Genre of game: RPG

With every title being revolutionary for its time I cant help but rank it in my number one spot! (I know a little predictable) but I can honestly say that I haven’t been disappointed in a single title out of the main series. Scores are beautiful, scenery is stellar, the stories are always something to gawk at. Even the bad ones far exceed my expectations, I hate to hear people bashing on individual titles in this particular series seeing that I haven’t seen any other titles that compare…..

    My Top 10...

    #10
Star Ocean III : Till the End of Time - I enjoyed this game a lot. The battle system is different from other RPGs (what with MP kills and Battle Trophy's and all that other schtuff) and the graphics aren't half bad. The one thing I didn't like was the ending...but considering I beat the game in two days, I guess it doesn't matter much. Good RPG.

    #9
.hack Series - Yes, I know. You're probably wondering why I like these games so much. Well, it's hard to say. Sure, the dungeons are monotonous (like, REALLY monotonous) and consume probably 85% of the game, but the story is actually pretty good, and the boss battles are kinda epic. For me, this series was worth playing for the story, but not for the gameplay.

    #8
Super Mario Galaxy - Boy, you can never get enough of that little Italian guy who tries to save the pink-dressed princess from the spiked turtle. I simply adored this game; it was cute but still had a serious (yet comical) aspect to the story. I have to say, I was disappointed by the ending, but the game overall was excellent.

    #7
Final Fantasy IV - Wow, this game was LONG, but well worth it. I really enjoyed the storyline and the gameplay was good enough to keep me enthralled long enough to make it through. FF4 may be an older game (I'm playing the remake on the PS1, and looking forward to playing the remake coming out soon) but it still has that FF magic.

    #6
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness - I borrowed this game from a friend of mine and fell in love with it. It has to be one of my favorite RPGs (excluding FF) of all time. The story is great, and with so many other things to do (item world, secret dungeons, and a New Game+-like feature allowing for multiple endings), you really can get sucked into this one.

    #5
Chrono Cross - The sequel to Chrono Trigger, and one of my favorite old-school RPGs. The battle system is slightly different from other RPGs (it uses some weird kind of point system to allow moves to be made...) but in all the story was amazing. Like Disgaea, it has a New Game+ feature where you can play the entire game through or 5 minutes and beat it all over again. It's a very good game with a wicked awesome story.

    #4
Final Fantasy X - This was the first game I ever played on a PS2, and it was the first game I ever bought for my PS2 (after around 2 years of not having one where I rented FFX like, 7 times...and didn't beat it XD). This game has an incredible storyline, memorable characters, and for a PS2 game, looks pretty freaking gorgeous. I do recommend this one to any first time FF players, but I do NOT recommend the "sequel" FFX-2.

    #3
Final Fantasy XII - This was my seventh FF that I bought, and boy, it's GORGEOUS. The graphics are stunning. The storyline compared to other FF's is rather hit and miss, and it doesn't have a direct love story like so many other FF's (
    Spoiler:
Ashe's love story doesn't count...it didn't really do all that much for the overall story...

) but the story is pretty good nonetheless. The battle system was also revamped for this game and, while the ABS is awkward at first (especially if you're used to FF7, 8 or 9) you get used to it. I'd recommend it to anyone.

    #2 - TIE -
Kingdom Hearts/Kingdom Hearts II - I find that if people put down the Kingdom Hearts series, they haven't played the games themselves. I played the first one for around two hours and could not put down my controller. The addition of Final Fantasy characters to an original cast AND Disney characters is the making of a great story. Both the first and second games are awesome (
    Spoiler:
I love the second one for the DUAL KEYBLADES. Holy crap. They're nerdgasmic.

) and they both capture the #2 spot on my list.

    #1 - TIE -
Final Fantasy VII/Final Fantasy IX - I can't separate either of these games.

FFVII was my first FF on the PS1, and it started my passion for the series. The storyline, while confusing at times, has serious depth to it and there are plenty of sidequests to keep you busy (my best game is clocked at around 500+ hours...needless to say the memory card it's on is kept in a safe). The characters are all different and easily memorable (We've all heard the spiky-haired comment before, am I right?) and they weave seamlessly into the storyline. It deserves a #1 spot.

FFIX was my third FF for the PS1 (after VII and VIII), and this game is all about the story. I'm a bookworm, so I love stories, and FFIX is the game for you if you want a simple, easy-to-learn RPG with an incredible storyline. Like FFVII, the characters are all distinctly memorable. Not only that, but it looks and feels like the time period in which the game takes place (sort of a medieval setting). For a PS1 game, the cutscenes and maps looks great too.

    Got it memorized?

10: Dynasty Warriors (all but 1)

These games have always been an awesome way to just pass time. You hack and slash your way through massive maps from real Chinese Battles. And the characters are just amazing.

9: Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
This was my first Zelda game ever played and quite honestly, this game has so many good memories in me I can't keep count.

    8. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Other then Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time has even more good memories. I remember when I finally got the Master Sword and I thought to myself..."I am never going to beat the first dungeon."

    7. Warcraft 3 (both games)

I have been a huge Warcraft fan ever since Warcraft 2. The story is great and the characters are amazing. R.I.P Grom. :[

    6. S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadows of Chernobyl

This game has an amazing story line. A decent AI and an amazing world. This is one of those games I can play over and over and over again no matter how many times.

    5. Silent Hill 4: The Room

At first I looked down on this game. It took a new route in the Silent Hill series, until I played it. I grew to like this games style. No music, no radio. Other then Silent Hill 2 which spooked me, Silent Hill 4 got me paranoid when I would go to bed. (there is this sound at my job from a floor buffer the cleaner guy uses, reminds me of a door in SH4 and it makes me freak sometimes lol)

    4. Chrono Trigger

This game amazed me in so many ways. How the story progressed, how events were linked together. The sad moments, the epic action moments, and the music. This game is simply amazing.
    3. Metal Gear/Solid series.

Every single Metal Gear game (minus PSP and Game Boy) has blown me away in story. From the twist in MG1, to the sad truths in MG2. To the epic story of MGS1 to the not so popular in America MGS2. To only go back in time and uncover so many facts in MGS3 and to finish it off with MGS4. Just by far the greatest series of games ever. (that connect)

    2. Silent Hill 2

This game was the only Silent Hill game to spook me so bad I had to sleep with a blue light on for 2 weeks back when this game came out. This also is another game I can play constantly and never get bored.

    1. Final Fantasy IX

Self-explanatory, this game brought out the Fantasy in Final Fantasy in my opinion. This was my first Final Fantasy and it just blew me away.

    10. Mega Man X is just a really good game. It controls a lot better than the previous Mega Man games, the combat system has improved, and the overall level design has improved.

    9. Final Fantasy VIII built from the success of Final Fantasy VII, but polished the details. The characters are more developed, the visuals are so much more improved, and the story is better. Anyone who prefers VII over VIII simply likes what's more popular, as opposed to what's better.

    8. The Prince of Persia for the Sega Genesis is a really good puzzle game. It's unique and challenging, there are multiple ways to complete a level, and it offers replayability.

    7. Rolo to the Rescue for Sega Genesis is an average platformer where you play as an adorable circus elephant named Rolo, and you have to rescue all of your furry animal friends! It's the most adorable game I've ever played. It's not fantastic, but I love it.

    6. Ghouls 'n Ghosts is a really fun, pretty creepy platformer. It's hard as shit, but it's addicting. I like the Genesis version better than the SNES version, because in the Genesis version, you can throw your javelin diagonally. That right there decreases the difficulty on the game by at least 20%.

    5. Tetris Worlds improved on the original Tetris idea. You can still play the same old addicting original puzzle game, or you can play a handful of really good new types of Tetris. I like the sticky Tetris. Blocks stick together with blocks of the same color. I don't know why that makes the game more fun, but it does.

    4. Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Wii is a really good fighting game. It improved on what was wrong with Melee, added a lot more characters, a lot more to collect, and a lot more to do. It's fun to play with friends, as well as just playing solo competition mode, or the Sup-Space Emissary adventure mode, in which, they add a little bit of side-scrolling/RPG elements.

    3. Rocket Knight Adventures is a game I absolutely love. The game looks good, the levels are well designed, it controls easily, and it's by far the best game available on the Genesis.

    2. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker differs from the other games in the Metal Gear Solid series in that it doesn't offer you the choice to play the game as a run and gun instead of a tactical espionage action game. It forces you to use strategy and plan out every single mission. You are forced to use stealth, as there are moments in the game where if you're seen, you fail. The boss battles are enormous, and can take hours to complete, but it forces you to use strategy, and it makes it really fun.

    1. Chrono Trigger is by far the greatest game ever made. It combines my two favorite things, tensions between wizards and frog-men, and time travel. In all seriousness, though, it's a really fun game, with really fun characters, really fun gameplay, a really fun story, and really fun music. It's a game that just makes me happy.

    Ok here goes mine.

    10) Sonic The Headgehog DX
Honestly I don't know why I liked it so much, but I guess it was just because it was a new type of game for me when I first played it, because I mean hell who doesn't like to play a blue hedgehog running around looking for emeralds. Added the fact you have other character choices as well.

    9) Super Smash Bros. Melee
Ahh the good ol' fighting game of mass destruction. I liked this one because it brought together the best characters that nintendo has to offer.

    8) Bleach: The Blade of Fate
A Bleach game?! OMG NO WAI! Lolz. But seriously, this game was just grand. The fact it followed the story line of the series, up to an extent, made it totally awesome. And the fighting style of each character is unique in their own ways.

    7) Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask
I remember the first time I played this game. I died in a hellish fire storm. Hahaha. Anyway, this game was totally awesome because it was the sequal to Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. But what made it great is you got to experiance what it was like to race against time in order to save Termina. And experiance being another race, other than Hylian.

    6) Fable: The Lost Chapters
Well this game would have been farther up the list like at 3 or 4 but other games knock it off. Anyway, this one was awesome. You got to experiance a realt ime Rpg of growing up throughout the game and choosing weather to be good or evil. A great game people should try.

    5) Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Other classic Zelda game, but it is one water. So many different worlds in one ocean of great proportions. I enjoyed this because, it was different form all the other LoZ games because it took place on water. A great game for any LoZ fan.

    4) Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess
Now this one blew me away. The enhanced graphics, the fighting style, just eveything! Transforming into a wolf was the best thing for me. I just added a key concept to it that made it stand out.

    3) Final Fantasy XII
Now this one was very grand indeed. The new fighting style instead of a sequence of waiting time. The new side quests, and the awesome way of aquireing attack and defense skills. Also upgraded Espers! Lolz

    2) Final Fantasy X
Now this one was cool because it was a new Final Fantasy to me when I played it. (Then XII came along, but that is another story.) I liked the usage of story line and attack moves for this one.

And the one I have been waiting for at number 1...

    *~Okami~*
Okami Amasturasu, the goddess of all that is good and motherly to the lands of Okami. This game blew my mind more than any other game of the century. The usage of graphics, fighting, story line, culture, just eveything was amazing! It's a great escapism of wonder, majasty, beauty, and brilliance! I can't even come imagine how much time was put into making that game as wonderous as it is. It just made me want to cry. Okami is my number one because it is just beautiful and will always stay that way!

The blood that spills, to the tears that I cry. I only wish for the nighttime to come. I wait and I wonder, I whisper and I stare, there is nothing that is ever there. I slowly close my eyes, as they grow silver with lust. ~Devon L. Kay

    10. Castlevania (NES): While this game was one of the hardest NES games I've played (but nowhere near as hard as Contra) I enjoyed controlling Simon and making my way through castlevania and defeat Dracula.

    9. Super Metroid (SNES): I couldn't believe how great this game was when I first played it. I only played the original Metroid for the NES and by the time I started playing this Metroid Prime was already out (I had a lot of catching up to do). I loved this game. Great storyline, gameplay, music etc.

    8. Mega Man 2 (NES): What can I say, I love this game. I grew up with the blue bomber and this game was my favorite of them all. I was always hoping that capcom would bring back the classic Mega Man and now they are with Mega Man 9.

    7. Final Fantasy VI (SNES): I used to see my older brother play this game when I was very little. At that time, I had little to no interest in Final Fantasy. But after playing FF7, I gave this game along with FF4 a chance. This game was awesome and I enjoyed every single minute of it.

    6. Final Fantasy IV (SNES): After playing FF7, I found my old copy of FF4 (in this case, Final Fantasy II) that my brother had. I began to play it and I was amazed that I missed out on this great game. The storyline and characters were great, although in my opinion, this game was a little more difficult then FF7, but still fun.

    5. The Legend of Zelda (NES): My first game will always be one of my favorites. I started playing this at the tender age of four, and all I did was mash buttons. After understanding the gameplay a few years later, I got more and more addicted to the game. Afterwards, I started moving on to other Zelda games as well.

    4. Goldeneye 007 (N64): After watching the movie about two years after it was released in 1995, I wanted to give the game a shot. It was defenatly the best FPS I've ever played. Awesome controls and gameplay made this game extremely fun to play.

    3. Final Fantasy VII (PSX): This was my first FF game and it got me addicted instantly to the FF series. I remember first watching my brother play this when I was seven and I decided to give the game a shot. After getting used to the battle system and how things worked, I concentrated more on the storyline. It has one of the best storylines in any game I played. Not to mention awesome music as well.

    2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64): I got this game when I was nine years old. I really got into Zelda when I played A Link to the Past and this game just built upon it. I couldn't stop playing this game and I was really happy and upset when I beat it because I knew at that point, the adventure was over.

    1. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES): It was hard for me to choose between a link to the past and ocarina of time for my favorite video game. I guess because I grew up with A Link to the Past. It was one of those games that got me hooked into video games and the Zelda series. In my opinion, it will always be my favorite.

    10. Final Fantasy XII (PS2)
I like the new battle system and the graphics, some chapters in the story were lame but generally the game is good.

    9. God of war II (PS2)
A great game and it's more like POP game, the action was great and the killing methods were awesome.

    8. God of war I (PS2)
    the same as GOW II

    7. Shadow of the colossus (PS2)
It's one of the hardest games I've ever played and one of the best, you actually have to use your intelligence in the game and I'm not quite good at this

    6. .Hack series (PS2)
A great game, it's more like FF games with a better battle system and cool characters and the anime was great too...And I really liked Haseo.

    5. Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time (PS2)
a great game but it's not the best in the series.

    4. Prince of Persia - The two throne (PS2)
A great game and got some old ideas but it worked really well in the game, like the stealth thing..Damn that was awesome, but the stupid thing is...You can't change the dagger.

    3. Prince of Persia - Warrior within (PS2)
My Favorite game in the series the outfit of the Prince was cool the Dahaka was awesome and the storyline is just great and unbelievable!

    2. Final Fantasy X (PS2)
A great game everyone know it, the story line, the battle system...etc.

    1. Final Fantasy VIII (PSX)
My favorite game ever, great, cool and awesome and the junction system was really useful...It's the perfect FF game for me.

    X: Sonic & Knuckles (SMDII)

I first played this game back in 1995 when my Dad got a SEGA MEGA DRIVE II Package for me and my brother for Christmas. This was one of the 2 Sonic the Hedgehog games we got in that pack, and boy oh boy this game is simply awesome. It marked the first ever appearance of the 'Ruby Red, Chaos Emerald Protecting Echidna'. The levels in this simply awesome, history making game are colouful, exciting, jam-packed full of Eggman Henchies and awesome moments of Speed that only Sonic can produce.

IX: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (SMDII)

Okay, this game, is simply put, The Greatest Sonic the Hedgehog Game ever made. Not the greatest game to feature Sonic (that award goes to 3rd Place), but definatley, hands-down the greatest Sonic game, let alone, the greatest game SEGA has ever produced, and will EVER produce. Like in Sonic & Knuckles, each level from Emerald Hill Zone to Casino Nights Zone, & from Hill Top Zone to Metropolis Zone and beyond, each and every single level and it's indivivual zones offer a different approach to reaching Eggman, and each Eggman boss battle is a different approach and experience. Awesome. Simply Awesome.

    VIII: Crash Team Racing (PSX)

Oh My Goodness does this game waste time!! I cannot believe how many hours one can sit and play, race after race after race without the slightest hint of movement! Naughty Dog outdid themselves when it came to CTR. It is unfortunate that this was Naughty Dog's last Crash Bandicoot game before moving to Jak and Daxter, but boy the last game was the best by any means. A colourful aray of querky characters from Crash Himself to N. Tropy the Time obsessed Doctor, supported by a huge variety of tracks makes boredom an impossibility. What makes me love this game the most is the 4-player Multi-Tap ability. Having 3 of ya mates as well as yourself boosting it at 150miles through a Space Station hurling rockets at each other is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Uhuh, CTR is Great.

    VII: Muppet RaceMania (PSX)

I'm not quite sure why, but when me and my brother purchased a PlayStation Magazine that had this game on it's preview Demo Disc on it, we fell in love with it. Now this was back in early 2000, now 8 years later, after unfortunately losing it, I bought it off TradeMe, and have clocked it numerous times. What makes this game great is..well.. the fact that its The Muppets! Kermit and his posse haven't made many video games, maybe only 2 or 3, but this, Muppet RaceMania, puts them in my Top 10, because, the entire game from start to finish offers huge variety. 25 Muppets are optional, you begin with 8, and unlock the remaining 17 as you drive around tracks based on 6 Great Muppet Films, as well as 4 Secret Tracks based on Muppet Relations. The greatest Kart-Racing Game in my opinion takes the #7 spot.

VI: Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (XBOX, PS2)

Who hasen't played GTA San Andreas and not liked it? It is the best, escpecially considering how much of a flop GTA IV was, that game was HORRIBLE!!! But luckily for Rockstar Games, they made San Andreas beforehand, so avid GTA gamers like myself could fall back on a classic like San Andreas. Now, what makes San Andreas a classic GTA game, let alone a classic game overall, is that it is based on the Compton Street Gang concept, the most dominating GTA styled lifestyle on Planet Earth! So it's only right for San Andreas to be the best, it's style fits the GTA style perfectly, CJ and his gang mates add comedy, tragedy and all out pop-a-cap-in-da-ass action you can stick a fork at, all rolled into one.

V: SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain (PS2)

Wrestling is a passion for me, I love to watch it, I love to do it, I love it, and SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain is the best of the best. An all-star cast supplies any fan with numerous years of WWE Greatness and Re-Creation of some of the greatest moments in WWE History!! The season mode kicks ass with it's constant forks-in-the-road, so that in the end you would've maybe... Paralyzed your Tag Mate? Destroyed your Boss' Testicles by throwing him onto a divider? Or Sprayed your biggest rival with a Giant Milk Van Hose? It is awesome, and those 3 scenarios are only 3 of about 50 scenarios your Created Superstar or CAW can get upto. Simply amazing. Simply awesome. Simply wrestling at its best.

IV: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)

My mate back in 2003 told me about this game when he wrote a creative writing assignment based on Ocarina of Time, soon enough I was playing what was one of the greatest games ever made, not just to me, but to the majority of the gaming world, as Ocarina of Time became the first ever game in history to recieve a perfect 10/10 by critical gaming magazine Famitsu, and it most definatley deserved that prestegious award, as it delivers. The gameplay is easy to learn and the storyline is so indepth it boggles the mind! With it's fun-loving characters, tricky puzzles and beautiful appearance, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time deserves to be part of any avid gamers collection.

III: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii)

The first 2 Smash games just missed out on the Top 10, but the 3rd installment, and definately te best installment, takes the Bronze Medal on my Podium. Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the game whose release I waited for the most over any game ever, lived up to what all Smash Fans expected, pure genious. It, along with its older brothers, 64 and Melee, offer countless hours of Smashtacular fun, 'cuz..I mean... Come on!! What game can offer you to get Mario, Link, Pikachu & Solid Snake to battle huh?? Not Super Mario 64!! Not Legend of Zelda!! Not Pokemon!! Not Metal Gear Solid!! But Super Smash Bros. Brawl the greatest Frickin' Beat'em Up game to ever be created by man!! Plus it has Sonic, and Sonicisrad!!

    II: Final Fantasy VII (PSX)

Final Fantasy VII is the the best Final Fantasy Original to ever be created. People say that VIII and X come close... yeah right, VIII was addicting as well, but emotion wise?? Not even close to Aeris' Death, named Mosted Shocking Moment in Video Game History. X wasnt bad either, the adding of voicing was a nice touch, but Tidus was a horrible Protagonist and the story was everywhere, whereas Cloud Strife, the Spikey-Haired, Buster Sword Weilding SOB is the coolest Protagonist since Sonic the Hedgehog back in '91. Not only that, but the Antagonist, the almighty Sephiroth (~Sephiroth...~) is the greatest Final Fantasy Character to ever be known. The story takes the cake as being the most indulging story I've experienced, the fact that a '1st Class Soldier' having to kill his Hero in order to save the Planet from his evil Tyranny is class, and still is class today. Final Fantasy takes the Silver Medal, although it was the Gold Medal winner for a very long time, until the release of...

    I: .......

    ......
~*Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-*~ (PSP)

How can a game get any better?? Seriously? Crisis Core, the story of Zack Fair the original Cloud Strife, is the greatest game to ever be played by man. The triumph, the downfall, the emotion, all 3 mix to produce a story of significant legendary status. A game that reveals the plot of what happened 7 years prior to what unfolded in the legend of itself, Final Fantasy VII. The revealing of what the almighty Sephiroth was like before his evil ways took over, the origins of the inamous Buster Sword, the original Owner, Angeal Hewley, the notorious Genesis Rhapsodos, and the friendship between two awesome human beings, Zack Fair and Cloud Strife. Crisis Core is simply put as my favourite game to ever be known, and it will be a huge obstacle to overcome in order to take away it's Gold Medal.

    10. Dynasty Warriors 5 X-treme legends- Nothing better to soothe the mind with mindless everlasting slashing. I liked the character editing and being able to create your own character and choose their style.

    9. Samurai Warriors- Another of my favorite Hack and Slash games although i like the story line in this one being able to play each real life Legends story. I also love ancient japan so like i said before the fact that all the characters actually lived was exciting.

    8. Tomb Raider Anniversary- Hell yeah!! If she hadn't made a good enough comeback in Legend (thanks to crystal dynamics who rock) they bring out an anniversary just f****n unreal I love those people at CD what a Triumphant return for Lara.

    7. Final Fantasy 10- Out of the FF's that i have played this one would be the second best as far as story line, characters, magics etc but that could change i have not finished FF12 yet so this one is a little bit open.

6.Soul Calibur 3- The best fighting game i have ever played. I love making custom characters and playing the chronicles mode over and over again lol and i like all the character in it.

    5. Shadow of Collosus and Devil May Cry 3- Unfortunately they have to tie i can't decide between the two. Firstly SOC was just mind boggling the sheer imensity of the map and the freedom was just astounding. I could never wait to get to the next monster it was a brilliant game. DMC 3 just a mouth watering game it combines some of my fav gaming factors the freedom to move, sword fighting and gunslinging, corny one liners and STYLE! I could play it for hours on end just slashing away at the enemies getting style points. Very enjoyable.

    4. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on GBA- I found it to be one of the most enthrawling games i have ever played. I liked the fighting system and gaining exp and techniques it had a very adictive story line. It was one of the very few games that i could hardly put it down.

    3. Onimusha Dawn of Dreams- There was only one thing that i didn't like about this game that you couldn't jump, but the fighting and combos and story made up for this ten fold. I never used to like Onimusha until i got this one with the new charge attacks and all new characters and all the different weapons thats why it makes my no 3.

    2. Okami- Now i said earlier how i liked ancient Japan, and then you look at a game like Okami i tell you what they need a bloody good pat on the back they exceded in this game, the story the twists and just when you thought the game was over it kept going until the time it was over and it was really sad to finish it.
Several things took me by awe with this game firstly the fighting style with the brush techniques is a welcome change, its different unique and easy to understand and get a hang of. Second the story was magnificent touching on real folklore from ancient Japan and real names just twisting at little bit and the characters where quite comical as well. But the one thing that just was awe inspiring is the graphics, the old style Japanese painting was just beautiful it was colorful and exciting it is just a beautiful game in general.

    1. My fav game would be FFXII of course. It is the best game to date that i have ever played. Its the game that introduced me to the FF world. A friend gave it to me to play to see if liked it i told him that i liked games where you could level up and gain exp and customise characters and so he leant me FF7 and i was trapped in the ever rising world of Final Fantasy and im glad i did. The story is just supberb it had twists, heart twisters good fights, humour etc and the hours that you could work up was just astounding it was like you were playing a game inside a game half the time. You could raise chocobos play mini games need i say more. The characters were perfect the story was perfect it is a perfect game.

1Final Fantasy 7 Fanboyish of me? Yea...sure. But after all, why not? I'm man enough to admit it. It was/is my favorite game and it'll never be replaced. I wrote stories about this damn game. The feel of it's imagery, music and characters are forever a part of my idea of a perfect game.

2Other Final Fantasy games They'd take up the whole list if I listed them individually and I want other titles to appear here. But this series raised me as a gamer and I hope, advanced my imagination as a human. Not to mention that they brought me here.

3Pokemon Yellow was my first Pokemon game and I remember how thrilled I was to get it. I had watched the series avidly and the game put me over the edge. Now we're up to Platinum, which is a fine game... But my excitement about the series was in it's height back then.

4Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Best Zelda game, no argument. It was simple, short and tons of fun and back when games were still a challenge. The latest games? Twilight Princess? Windwaker? Good games all, but not challenging.

5Grand Theft Auto; Vice City Vice City wasmy first GTA, and what a game. I love the eighties anyway...and I loved this game. The others kind of stayed in the shadows of the masterpiece.

6Warcraft II Back when strategy games were new this was my game of choice. Sequels and Commands and Conquers have come and gone, but I was most ramped about this game.

7Super Smash Bros. Melee Of course I loved and played the first... But I was best at Melee... At melee, I was a god. I can still hold my own with Brawl, but to be honest, I like Brawl's story mode better than it's PvP mode.

8Super Metroid SNES style. Weird alien game that wasn't comfy with cute characters, it had intimidating bosses and puzzles that you felt accomplished to fend off or solve. I have special place in my heart for the entire series, even though they're Nintendo exclusives.

9Metal Gear Has to go somewhere on this list. And even though I came in tragically late in the series and only have the third and fourth installments. This game is a godsend of gripping story, character and gameplay.

10Fallout 2 3 is the popular installment, I know. But you can't turn your female character in a lesbian hooker hopped up on Jet in it, can you? Fallout 3 is a great game, but if they had made Fallout 2 in 3d, it'd be much better.

Fear not, this is not...the end of this world.

=^^= Okay! I'm going to give it my best shot *Fingers to the ready on the keyboard*

#10 Sims 2 - Starting off with the PC Sims 2. The game is a simple concept really... you play with a bunch of pixels the real life game. When the Sims originally came out I thought it was a load of rubbish. Why would you want to play God and play about with these pixels who are just simply living life.
That was until I bought the game myself.... Only loaded and installed I started to get addicted. Whenever bored I would simply click on the icon and start messing about. Sims 2 is fun as you can create whoever you like, make a little story for your family if you like and have fun. The graphics are pretty good, and mouse controls are great. But it does get very samey and quite quickly... But still I thought it was worth a top 10 mentioning. (Not to mention I can't wait for Sims 3! WHEEE!!! x3)

#9 Tomb Raider Anniversary - I'm a great fan of all the Tomb Raider Series really... I'm always thinking of how I want to be like Lara Croft... Anyway... In this vamped up edition the graphics are quite nifty for the PS2. And I think in this version the game character slightly resembles Angelina Jolie. Always fun when you can kind of compare it to a real life person. So it's back to the orignal story, just with better everything really. If you like action and adventure Tomb Raider is the way to go! The environments are great... but sometimes they get a bit easy. If you get lost all you have to do is look for a straight edge or something and you're out of there xD. Tomb Raider is a classic and for me has endless replay value. Love it.

#8 Final Fantasy VII - This installment of the Final Fantasy series tends to be the general favourite. It's not for me though... and I don't know why to be honest! Maybe the graphics put me off - and that is very petty I know. And the controls take a bit of getting used to... but all that can be adjusted to the players taste none the less. The story is great, the characters have good depth to them, the soundtrack is excellent and the gameplay is fun! Materia is a great system in the game. Having the different combinations etc... And the extras in the game rule! Chocobo's and stuff. It's so cute!!!!! And I still wonder why it doesn't get a higher place for me.. but it just doesn't xD.

#7 Heavenly Sword - One of the first PS3 games that I owned. The graphics are sensational! Of course you have another flawless female lead - grrr, and she has this imba sword. The story of this game is epic really. It's like your playing a movie. The sound effects of the heroine using her weapons in battle are magnificent. Voice acting is simply superb and when you get enough points you can unlock some great "in the making" videos. The downpoint of this game for me was the shortness. I wanted it to go on and on, and was deeply saddened by the fast ending of this game. Does it have replay value? Yes! And I am replaying it right now x3

#6 Prince of Persia (PS3) - Ahh yes. PoP. This guy is close to Squall.. Nearly Godly... The first of the series to come out on the PS3. Excellent. And having Nolan North do the voice for him was just heaven for me! At first the graphics took a bit of getting used to... A little bit cartoony and yet not... The control of the Prince is of course flawless. He's agile and fast... and for once he has an ally who is useful!!!! As great as it was and as catchy as the music was... it was a little bit too easy for my liking and not enough battles. You have the odd monster spawn, but I like more action sometimes...

#5 Kingdom Hearts - I love Disney. I love Square Enix. Need I say more?! Combining the two is genius! The graphics are great, and control is good. Only thing that kind of bugs me is the camera angles and stuff... But this game is really great. Getting to visit loads of different worlds... Worlds your probably already familiar with from the Disney movies! In my personal opinion I think Disney was favoured more... But never mind!
The voice acting was excellent as well. A great cast indeed. There are so many parts to the game you can follow up... I"m still finding new stuff.

#4 Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - This was the first Prince of Persia I ever played... I remember I heard about it on a radio advertisement xD. And there I was... falling in love with the Prince. Now... I don't mean this to sound pervy.. but I first played this with my friend. And it was her who pointed out that as you played on, the Prince slowly lost more clothing xD! Just a random fact for you... But the game is great fun. Action and adventure. Romance of course! But with a twist... naturally. There were parts in the game which really drew me in. Farah and her helpfulness was frustrating at times and on occassion I found myself trying to kill her myself xD. Once again the agility and presence of the Prince is much appreciated <3

#3 Uncharted - I mention Nolan North for PoP(PS3)... and here he is in Uncharted!!! *Fan girl squeal* Best voice ever.... So this was again one of my first PS3 game purchases. I've never been a one for games involving shooting as I tend to get overwhelmed and freak out at my poor aim and timing. But this game is GREAT! You have to know where to run, hide, how to shoot... and it's full of heart pounding goodness. You have a little sidekick, and she's fairly useful at times. Like hits the odd man with a bullet but whatever... Just when you think it's a fairly normal game, you're then hit with zombies! It's great and it keeps you on your toes. Action - YES. Adventure - YES. Puzzles? YES! It's really great... and did I mention Nolan North?

#2 Final Fantasy X - Yet another Final Fantasy reaches the list! The first of the series to reach the PS2. Gosh I remember buying it... *Day dreams* Anyway! Levels? Gone... and the sphere grid is introduced. At first I hated it... I mean wtf? I want my levels!!!!! But after time I adjusted and became quite attached to this new system. I guess maybe they knew what they were doing after all... Like all FF's the story was great! Characters were awesome - albeit Tidus really bugged me from time to time.... Soundtrack was another classic! In terms of difficulty I found it quite easy... But a truly great game. And I loved the twist at the end - even though it made me cry x3

#1 Final Fantasy VIII - And we reached the best game ever!!! (In my eyes anyway hehe :3) FFVIII... this was the first of the series I played. I fell in love with it instantly. And it has SQUALL!!! AND HE'S ALL MINE I TELL YOU!!!!
..... Alright I'l continue then. So yes, FFVIII has the pretty cool junctioning system. I really enjoyed that... equipping the GF's, learning their skills and such. And the Triple Triad was awesome too! I always loved to play that (but only once I got all the cool cards. Naturally!). The storyline for me was just the best. The romance in it is soooooo squishable I could die xD. How you see the characters develop etc... The FMV's were fantastic too... just like all the Final Fantasy's.... Everything about this game just excites me. I'velost count the number of times I've played it... The world map... the vehicles you travel in, the music, the characters.. everything!!! It's what a game should be in every way. And yes maybe I do obsess on it a little... but doesn't everyone's number one? ^_^

    Following the path for truth...

    and ending the dream.

    10. Final Fantasy Tactics
I thought the whole idea of having a Final Fantasy game that focuses more on strategic ideas instead of just fighting was a very unique twist. The game itself is very open to different styles of fighting. Everyone who plays it has a different way of setting up their party, and almost nobody's is the same because there are so many classes and abilities to choose from. The game offers the player a lot more freedom of how they want their characters to turn out.

    9. Tales of the Abyss
I liked this game because unlike the other Tales game that I have played, Tales of the Abyss lets you use the whole board to move. I thought that that gives you much more freedom and planning than just being able to move left and right on the battlefield. The game itself is very similar to the Star Ocean games because the people who worked in Namco were part of the group of people who worked in tri-Ace. That automatically makes me attracted to them because of my experience with the Star Ocean games.

    8. Final Fantasy IX
This was one of my first Final Fantasy games. I liked it better than most of the others because it had some more stuff to offer. For example, it is different from other Final Fantasy games because the level of the character is meaningless in learning new abilities. All that they need to do is obtain the right equipment and earn enough Ability Points. I thought that made it very unique because in most all other Final Fantasy games, some of the best attacks are only accessible to high levels, whereas in Final Fantasy IX, you just need to progress in the game to get the equipment needed.

    7. Final Fantasy XII
This game is by far my favorite of the Final Fantasy series. I thought that having a Final Fantasy game that has almost real-time battles instead of the usual turn-based battle system. Although the game doesn't require high levels to learn good skills, I liked the license board because it offers you everything straight away; all you have to do is find the appropriate item or skill or spell and have enough License Points to obtain it. I really liked the transition from having constant random battles to no random battles. It gives you a chance to pick your enemies and see what you are fighting.

    6. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth
I liked this game because it provides a very unique battle system. It makes nobody able to move before their turn comes, and I like how you can control each of your character with a different button. Also, it gives you much more freedom outside of battle than just running around.

    5. Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria
I thought this game was better than Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth because this game gives you much more freedom in battle. You aren't limited to just pressing buttons, but you get to move around the whole field. Also, you don't always get hit when it comes time for your opponents to attack since you can pretty much move behind them. I liked how the game also had a challenge in the Seraphic Gate after you beat the game, and it makes the game so much harder if you keep on beating it. It becomes so hard after beating the game 48 times, I've heard, but I've yet to even do that.

    4. Star Ocean: First Departure
This game is the Playstation Portable remake of the original Star Ocean. I find remakes a lot more fun because they've improved a lot of stuff. For once, there is a game where the maximum level is not capped at 99. All Star Ocean games have a maximum level of 255, and that grants the player more time to power up their character. I liked having a real-time action RPG that utilizes skills inside of battle. For instance, you could unleash two of your skills that you pick anytime throughout the battle as long as you have enough MP. I also liked how you can have the different talents that lets you do so many things outside battle such as pickpocketing and such.

    3. Star Ocean: Second Evolution
This is the other remake for the Playstation Portable. Unlike Star Ocean: First Departure, this one is the remake for Star Ocean: The Second Story, the second in the series. I like this game for the same reasons as I stated above, and the reason why this game bested Star Ocean: First Departure is probably because of story element and characters.

    2. Star Ocean: The Last Hope
I just got this game the other day, but already, it has made its way to become my second favorite game of all time. Who knows, it might even become my first! This game offers the same things as the two Star Ocean games listed above and then some. It has an almost purely real-time battle system where you can barely even see your characters because the game is 3-D. It also brings back the item creation of the Star Ocean games which I loved. You can create your own weapons in the game and not just pick them up in chests. In fact, some of the most powerful weapons are only acquired through item creation. Another thing that I want to point out is the graphics of this game. They are absolutely amazing! The characters look just like real life people.

    1. Star Ocean: Till the End of Time
This game has always been my favorite. It was my very first Star Ocean game. I liked the 3-D environment very much, and I thought having the 3-D real-time battle system was a significant part of the game because I am a person who likes just testing my attacks and defensive strategies instead of planning every step that I want to make. This game was the first Star Ocean to introduce item creation. Also, Sphere 211, a secret area in the game, provides such a great challenge to players as the bosses there, especially towards the end, are just so hard. I thought the plot of the game was very good, and I've played it over and over without getting bored of it!

    10. Pokemon Blue (Game Boy)
For me, the original will always be the best. I remember when this first came out, it was the cutting edge of gaming! The graphics sucked, but the gameplay more than made up for it. I loved it because all of my friends played it aswell, so we could trade Pokemon, so that we could complete each other's games. I sold my Game Boy and all my games a few years back, but just bought a Game Boy Colour and Pokemon Blue, and I am hooked on it again! The gameplay is just so addictive, and as compelling as it was over 10 years ago.

    9. Okami (PS2)
I haven't been playing Okami long, so I can't rank it as high as I probably would if I had been playing it for years. However, it still gets a spot in my top 10. The gaming market needed something to get us away from the GTA-clones and whatever, and when Okami came out, it did just that for me. I remember playing it with a friend a few years back, and I said "I've got to buy this!", but never got around to it. Big mistake! I wish I had. The graphics are beautiful, something very unique in a game (they are made to look like a japanese painting), the gameplay also is more unique than anything in the gaming market, even now. The use of the Celestial brush added tons to the game.

    8. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (PSP)
Despite how new it is, I picked it up more or less when it first came out, and instantly loved it. Many people don't think it is very good, but I think it is a great addition to the FF7 saga. It answered a few questions left open in the main game. The graphics are perhaps the best the PSP has seen, and the gameplay, while a little repetitive, was very good in my opinion. Just don't start on Hard!

    7. Onimusha 3 (PS2)
I think this game is the best Capcom has made (I'm going to get killed by the Resi Evil fans later!), let alone the best in the series. I love how you get to be more 3 characters this time (one is more of a guest character), so this means more to do (more weapons and armour to upgrade, plus loads of minigames). The graphics are no better than the previous, but they are still good. The only thing that lets it down is its difficulty, especially after you get to about 3/4 of the way through.

    6. Tekken 2 (PS)
Again, the best in the series. This was the first game I got for myself on my family's PlayStation, and I was always playing it. The graphics were the best at the time, while laughable now, but I think it is the best Tekken, no best fighting game, ever. I think the characters are the best in any Tekken game (although they are back in 5 and DR, but, they have been messed with), and the classic fighting gameplay is all there. I true classic.

    5. Final Fantasy VII (PS)
Like many other people, I love FF7. However, I've never thought it was the best in the series. The game is an absolute classic. The graphics aren't great, but on the FMVs, they are impressive. The gameplay is amazing. The classic FF gameplay is there, with a few added things, such as materia. There's so much to do on the side, like the WEAPONs, getting everyone's best weapon, getting all the summons, chocobo etc. The story is epic, and the characters are well developed. I think all these thinks make FF7 such a great game.

    4. Kingdom Hearts II (PS2)
I actually think KHII is miles above KH1. KHII has so much added onto the game. First off, the game is much more mature than its predecessor. Secondly, the battles are much less repetitive. KHII has added the use of Drives and Reaction commands, which you can use if you are in a bind, and turn the tide to your favour. Also, the graphics are amazing. Don't get me wrong, I love the first KH, I just love this one more.

    3. Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night (PS)
When I first got this game, it was so hard to play for me. I was so used to 3-D gameplay when I got this. Gone were my megdrive days. I was about 8 when I got this, so I found it very hard, but I carried on. I started picking bits up along the way, and eventually, it became on of my favourites. I still play it now, and absolutely love it now. While the graphics aren't good, the gameplay more than makes up for it. The story is much better than any Castlevania game ever made. I think I'll still be playing it when I get old and crusty.

    2. The World Ends With You (DS)
When I ask a lot of people whether they play this game too, no-one knows what I'm on about. I love every aspect of this game. The graphics aren't great for people who play console games, but I love them. The gameplay is unique. The battle system is something completely new. While using a selection of 'Psychs', you can unleash a vast selelection of attacks. Plus, you control two characters at once. The top, with the D-Pad, and the other with the stylus. It could be hard for a lot of people to pick up, but I got it in minutes. Next, the characters are great, and well developed. The game is just unique in every possible way.

    1. Final Fantasy VIII (PS)
This game will always be my favourite game ever. I have been playing it since I was 9, and have loved it ever since. The graphics were amazing when it first came out, and still good now. The gameplay was something different, never seen in a FF before. The junction system was something not everyone liked, but I thought it added so much more to the game. You could customise your characters more than any other FF. The story is awesome. I think it has the best story out of any game I have ever played. Overall, FF8 is, always has been, and always will be, the best game I will ever play.

    My Top 10 List

There are many great games and it is hard to chose the top 10 but I think this are the games that earn to be in my top 10 list.

    1. Final Fantasy IX
This is my favorite game and I would suggest this game to everyone that likes a good RPG.Like every FF it has amazing story(Maybe the best story in all FF games) and great characters that make the game even more interesting. The music for this game is just perfect, the best I have seen in a game. When you finished it once you can play it again and still it would be interesting that´s what makes it a great game.

    2. The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time
Everyone loves Link He´s just amazing.Every Zelda is great game but I must say that Ocarina of Time is something special. This is the best game in Zelda series.I Now it´s little old but who cares if it´s old the game is great.I would suggest the game to those that did not played any of Zelda games. The great story, music and characters are the attributes that makes this game my no. 2.

    3. ISS2
Yes it is ISS2 (Not PES) the greatest soccer game of all times. It is old game but i believe that many will agree with me that this is still the best soccer game that exist´s.

    4. Devil May Cry 3
The best game in DMC series. The game is great mainly because a great story that follows Dante and Vergil. The music is just excellent(Best part of the game)and battle is good.

    5. Final Fantasy VIII
Story, music and characters make this game one of the best FF game. It´s strange and I know that many will disagree with me but I must say the best part of this game is Battle System (Junction System). And of course the appearance of Omega and Ultima Weapon is just great.

    6. Final Fantasy VI
Ironic that FFVI is on 6. position. This game surprised me in a positive way.I did not expect to be this good. The story is amazing and the most I liked is the number of character this game has.

    7. Tekken 3
Tekken the King of Iron Fist Tournament. This game is the best fighting game I ever played. It´s even better than any Street Fighter.Unlike many fighting game this game has a great story .Every character is greatly done and every one of them has a different story. Most of them look cool especially Kazuya Mishima.Every Tekken is just great but I chose this because this is the first Tekken I played.

    8. Kingdom Hearts - Chain of Memories
I never thought that Disney and Final Fantasy World could be combined(Who would Thought)It turned out great.Unfortunately the only Kingdom Hearts I played was Chain of Memories and it´s awesome game. The best game I played on Game Boy Advance (After Final Fantasy VI).

    9. Gran Turismo 2
I played many racing games and most of them suck(Especially NFS Most Wanted). But GT2 is something else. It´s simply the best racing game that exists and you know it.It´s best racing simulation unlike some that claim that (Most of NFS games).

    10. The Legend of Zelda - Link´s Awakening
The first Zelda game that I played.I still have original cartridge for Game Boy.An excellent masterwork a game that is rarely seen. One of few Zelda game were you don't have to save princes Zelda but still it has a great story.
Music like in every Zelda games is great and the game has a few secrets so you can play it numerous times.A rarely gem in within Game Boy games

So this is end of my list.As I told in the beginning there are many great games and sometimes it´s hard to decide which game is better or which game to put on the list.

Dodie's Top Ten Games (so far)

Okay, here's my list for top ten games, and also the reasons why you should play them (if you haven't already!).

    10.) Tetris

This title has been through many remakes, and is the only game that I know to truly stand the test of time. What do I mean by this? Well, you can ask any person, young or old, if they had ever heard of Tetris. Your most likely answer would be yes. It has a simple, yet addictive, concept. Blocks fall from the top screen and you as the player must move and line them up in order to create solid lines on the bottom screen (did I really need to explain that, lol). Also, the tetris theme is pretty darn catchy, I must say.

    9.) Illusion of Gaia

This is an SNES classic from my early days as a gamer. You play as Will, a young man who live in South Cape with his aunt and uncle. Will leads a pretty average life, until one day he comes home to discover a princess in his house. His life isn't the same after that, and thus begins Will's incredible journery. Oh, did I mention his weapon of choice? A flute. Yep, it's a flute. You get other powers as well, like the ability to transform into Freedan and Shadow, but for the most part, you are beating up baddies with a flute.

    8.) Earthbound (Mother 2)

Another game from my SNES days. I do love this game so much. It has a pretty simple theme. Alien is trying to take over (destroy?) the world, and it's up to Ness to stop it. But in these games, it's usually the journey (not the destination) that makes it enjoyable. I love the quirky humor of the game in general and the innocence of youth that the heroes portray. I really hope that Nintendo decides to release Mother 3 stateside.

    7.) Yoshi's Island

A game so nice that I bought it twice! Yep, the SNES version and the gameboy version. I love the artstyle in the game, which looks like a third-grader got out his crayons and decided to make a bunch of hills and clouds (a talented third-grader, but still a third-grader). You play as Yoshi (of many different colors, if I may add) and it's your job to reunite the Mario brothers and take them to thier parents. Oh, I forgot to mention that Mario is a baby, and he rides on Yoshi's back. There are times where baby Mario gets powered up and you get to play as him, but for the most part, you play as Yoshi.

    6.) Final Fantasy VII

Say want you want about Final Fantasy VII, but I still put it on my list because it introduced me to the series. Also, for the time of it's release it was a very excellent game. It's cyber-punk setting is a break-away from the earlier versions, and the magic (materia) system was a great addition. It was simple, yet involving at the same time. The supporting characters were pretty great. I love Rufus Shinra and the Turks. I like them ten-times more than some of the main characters. I can't talk about FFVII without mentioning Sephiroth. I don't care if his motivations are about as clear as mud. He could want to be king of the paper-clips for all I care, I still really enjoy him as a character. He has a sympathetic backstory and a great character design. I actually am more fond of Amano's version than I am of Nomura's though.

    5.) Kingdom Hearts

I actually consider this game a "guilty pleasure" of mine. I mean, you are a 14-year old kid, who teams up with Donald and Goofy (of Disney fame), and you are looking for your friends. Along the way, you do help a lot of people and you fight off some heartless, but basically, all Sora wants to do is find Riku and Kairi and head back home. What sold me on the game, was the actual gameplay. It plays kind of like a stylized Zelda game. You slash away at enemies with your Keyblade. Yes, you are merely button-mashing, but the stylization makes it pretty worthwhile. Also, Sephiroth makes an appearance. (Fangirl squeal in 3...2...1...) SQUEEEAAALLLLLL!!!

    4.) Shadow of the Colossus

I really, really love this game. It didn't make the top three however, because the story is too short. I think I beat it in 10 hours. It's possible to extend the gameplay by trying to find all the fruit, lizard tails, and beating the colossi in a time-limit challenge, but I was never good enough to do the time challenge, and those damn lizards are QUICK. I guess I should talk about the gameplay and story. You play as Wander, and with your trusty steed, Agro, you are trying to bring your dead girlfriend, Mono, back to life. You head to a sacred land and make a deal with Dormin, who tells you to defeat the 16 colossi who roam the sacred land. This, he/she tells you, will bring Mono back to life. So begins the journey of epic porportions, as you ride across the sacred land to defeat the 16 colossi. If you haven't played this game yet, and want to, be prepared for the most shocking ending I have seen in a long time.

3.) Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time

Ah, I still remember the trailer to this game like it was just yesterday. My brothers and I got so pumped about this game, and we put our money together to purchase it. I think that's the only time that we all ever agreed to do anything together. I could go on forever about why I like this game, but I'll just focus on one aspect: Z-targeting. What a great addition to gameplay! I think that OOT was the first game to introduce this concept, and it has been repeated in various other games as well, even outside the Zelda franchise. I don't think I need to discuss story and characters, so I won't.

2.) Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars

What do you get when you cross the legend that is Mario and the awesomeness that is Squaresoft? You get Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars, of course! This game had a great story, great locations, great gameplay, and of course, great characters. This was the game that introduced me to Squaresoft. What I really love about this game is the overall story. You play as Mario. Bowser has just kidnapped the Princess (for the umpteenth time) and you have to save her. But, what REALLY happens is far more involving than I can get into right now. I can't talk about Super Mario RPG without saying something about the music. The music in the game is awesome! Yoko Shimomura really did an excellent job, and Koji Kando and Nobuo Uematsu did some tracks as well.

    1.) Okami

Anyone surprised by my number one? Yeah, didn't think so. I cannot stop praising this game. The artstyle? Amazing. Storyline? Epic. Soundtrack? Wonderful. Characters? Endearing. Just an amazing game, that unfortunately didn't recieve the amount of recognition it deserves. You can read more about it here:

    http://thefinalfantasy.net/forums/ge...ml#post1212191

Well, there's my list. I hope you enjoyed reading it, because I enjoyed writing it!

    HOLD IT!!!!

    Honorable Mention:

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

I love this game, so why didn't it make the top ten? Because it's the only one in the series that I played, and I didn't feel right to put it in without knowing the whole story of Big Boss and Solid Snake. But I will leave some comments about it. MGS 3 is a great game, with involving story, very good gameplay (which borders on humorous when you mess with the enemy soldiers), and rich detail that is very good for the PS2. Oh, and Major Ocelot is pretty dreamy. Drawback? I'm not a history buff, and this game goes through a lot of detailed history.

I guess I'll try to make my own top 10!

    10-Worms Open Warfare 2 (DS,PSP)
This is IMO the best worms game out there. True, there are a lot less weapon in this game, but seriously, the older games' 60 weapon was too much for me. Also, a personnal favourite because of the great music (Can someone who played either version NOT remember the pirate theme?) and the fact that it's portable.

    9-Final Fantasy IX (PSX)
My second FF I ever tried (the first one being FFX) And I though It was awesome. I dind't like the total customisation FFX had. I hate when everyone can do everything at the same time. This game has great story and great music.

    8-Final Fantasy V Advance (GBA)

I originally found FFV to be a weaker title than FFIX but the GBA remake actually makes it better than FFIX. Great music, great story, ans possibly the best ability system of the entire series!

    7-Zoo Tycoon 2 (PC)

I never tried this game without expentions. But anyways. This game (with all expentions exept Instinc spicies one) is a great game if you like to waste time. It can be very hard to play at times though. I don't recommend this game to beginners.

    6-Final Fantasy XII (PS2)

I never finished the game. However, from what I've seen so far, the game is pure awesomeness. I dind,T like the battle system at first, but once you get used to it, it gives the player a really enjoyable game. And finally it allows solo challenge without the need of killing off your fellow party members beforhand! Also, has the greatest Character of the whole series: Balthier!

    5- Final Fantasy VI (SNES,PSX)

Everything, exept maybe some music, is great in FFVI. The story, the characters, and the best Villain of the series (if not of all times): Kefka! Need I say more?

    4-Eternal Sonata (Xbox360, PS3)
My first game on Xbox 360, and easily one of the best. It's a bit on the easy side tho. But for once, they make a fantasy game based on a real life person (in this case: Frederic Francois Chopin) The characters are all great, and funny sometime too! And the music is also very awesome!

3-Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts Xbox360

This game is hated, mainly by purist who think it would be better if this game was on Nintendo Wii, which is false (if you ever played this game, imagine the controls on a nintendo wii controller) The mix of Sanbox, race, mini-games and platformer makes this game one of Rare's finest works! This game needs more love!

2-Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift (DS)

While this is one of the most hated game of the FFT series, I found it to be the best. Over 56 classes for 7 races gives you the most team possibility any game ever offered, exept the total customisation games, such as FF 7,8 and 10, and of course, the moster collectors (Pokemon, Digimon and DQ Monster) There are a LOT of interresting sidequest, and I think the battle system is better than in FFTA and the original FFT.

1-Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Xbox, Xbox360, PS2, PC

OMG... I can't tell how much time I wasted on that game. THere are so many things to do! And even if you don't want to do those things, you can still wander around the state of San Andreas to cause havoc! Also, the story of Carl ''CJ'' Jonhson is told very well in this game. A must-have for any GTA fan!

    9. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle

Yeah, a Sonic game. But this one was good. (At least until Sega failed at their existence in the following 4+ titles! Although Unleashed was a STEP in the right direction... -_-) This story takes Sonic to space, yeah. Anyway, but the main focus is of Shadow, the new anti-hero. (Back when he was bearable, and not emo like he is now. -_-) It all boils down to Eggman trying to conquer the world, all that jazz. But it gets serious when Eggman activates the Proton-Blabbity Machine that I forgot the name of. The story gets INTENSE, and a bit creepy, I'll leave it for you to discover. Gameplay-wise, it's fine. Sonic focues on speed, same as Shadow. Tails' and Eggman's stages are just slow and drawn-out, but they're fair enough. The last few stages are very difficult, and the second-to-last boss killed me about 50 times... o_O But overall, it's a good game.

    8. Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core

The best game in the FFVII franchise, indefinitely. It takes its combat style from Kingdom Hearts, and allows free-roaming on the battlefield, instead of having to take turns whacking things with skillets. The battle system is fun and engaging, and there are some 300 missions to keep you well occupied. The game also tells the tale of Zack, Cloud's best friend and former owner of the Buster Sword. The story follows him as he matures, and eventually grows to become a well-loved character. This is a fine game to pick up and play.

    7. Super Smash Bros.

Why is this on the list? 'Cause I like smashing things. ;P It's good reckless fun. Grab a friend and beat each other with hammers, and fire-spewing flowers. There are several extras, like missions and sound test, giving you hundreds of hours of gametime, which is impressive. o_O The story is pretty simple, but it feels epic, regardless. This is definitely a fun game, even more with friends!

    6. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

This is the only Zelda game I ever played, but I love it. (Now, normally, I'd avoid this unless I knew the rest of the story from other games, but from studying the series, almost NONE of them intertwine, so I just assume that none of them are connected in any way.) This game is fantastic. I recommend the Wii version, it's just a blast. There's SO much to do. So many secrets, and some of the stuff is so hidden, you wouldn't believe it! : O The story is VERY dark, and seems to be one of Nintendo's creepiest from what I've seen before. But, all the more epic. Definitely grab this game if you see it!

    5. Final Fantasy VI

I LOVE this game. Wonderful story, great gameplay, fascinating characters. Everything is here, basically. The villain, Kefka, is really great. The gameplay is exciting, and most boss battles require strategy. Except when you acquire Ultima... that strategy seems to go away... -_- The story is deep and involving. You feel what the characters feel. It's really well done. Get the game, it's awesome.

    4. Kingdom Hearts II

You knew THIS would be on the list. ;P This game is hella fun. But, I feel it's pretty easy. Maybe it's the over-power boost you get by the end of the game, or maybe the forms... Speaking of which, the forms are fun to use, but broken as all hell. I perfer Master Form, because it blends physical and magical attacks so well, and it's almost as obscene as Final Form. Final Form... THAT. IS. BROKEN. o_O O_o The story shifts and changes to the mysterious Organization XIII. Sora's been asleep for a year, and its time to save the worlds again! This game is great and fun. If you don't have it yet, I COMMAND YOU TO GET IT! >: D

    3. Star Ocean: Second Evolution

The remake for the PSP. This game is really great. It has a LOT of story, and it's pretty deep, too. Gameplay wise, it is similar to Kingdom Hearts, in which you're allowed free-roaming in battle. Characters are in sprite form, but the landscape is in 3-D. It's interesting to view this... "4-D world" from all angles. Battles are fast and action-packed. The musical score is one of my favourites, I must say. The story focuses on Claude, a young space Cadet, and Rena, a village girl with a past more complex than anything I've ever seen in a game. o_O Overall, this game is absolutely beautiful. The story is great, the gameplay is fun, and you'll fall in love with Opera! Get. This. Game.

    2. Final Fantasy X

This game is amazing. I love it. The story is beautiful and sad. The gameplay is fun. And the music is absolutely perfect. The gameplay returns to a more "take all the time you want" style for turns. Unlike the first three games, though, you know whose turn is next. It's like a frozen ATB system. The Sphere Grid limits each character to a kind of job profession that makes the early-mid parts of the game fun. You can eventually break through locks and help each character reach maximum power. The summons, known as Aeons, play a vital role in the story, more than any seen in FF so far. The story follows Tidus, a young Blitzball player who is pulled 1000 years into the future after coming into contact with the creature Sin. He is soon confronted with a world of Yevon, and in the end, he'll discover the dark secrets about it with Yuna, the young Summoner who seeks to defeat Sin. The story builds and builds, and you can never see anything coming. It gets dramatic at several points, and the ending is perfect. Overall, this game is wonderful. Get it. In fact, how come you didn't get it before? You lazy! Get it! Hurry, hurry! : O

    1. Kingdom Hearts - 358/2 Days

Well, it finally happened, a game that can rival Kingdom Hearts 1. I didn't think they could do it. This is the reason the list it one behind, both this game and number one are on the first spot. o_O O_o I LOVE this game. It is so much fun. There's so much customization, and the Panel system is fantastic. Roxas is a fascinating character, and without a doubt, the most loveable and complex in the series. The story follows him through his daily life in the Organization. He meets a girl named Xion, and from there, things tie together with the first and second game. The gameplay is similar to previous titles(actually, it's exactly the same... -_-). The graphics are unbelievable for the DS. They bring to mind the PSX era. Added cut-scenes with fully-voiced dialogue bring charm to this already wonderful game. The story bulids up to one of the most epic and sorrowful endings I've ever seen. I guarantee you'll love it. Need I say more? Get it.

    1. Kingdom Hearts

This has been my number one game for the longest time... It's just so good. The gameplay has just enough difficulty. You have a wide array of customization, and the story is really compelling. Gameplay is action-based. You can move around in battle, and you can engage enemies on the field, rather than on a separate screen. Similar to Final Fantasy, it's a basic RPG. You have HP, MP, you can cast spells, you find items, recruit character, etc. It's so much fun, though. The tutorial lasts only about 20 minutes, but it's short enough that you don't feel it's dragging on like in future titles of the series. -_- This game has more than a feeling of something different, it feels like nothing you've played before. The collaboration of the Disney villains is really interesting. It's good to revisit childhood memories, and all the while enjoying the game. The story focuses on Sora, a young boy who quickly finds himself in the role of the Keyblade master, destined to seal the worlds' Keyholes and defeat the darkness. It soon grows more complicated when his best friend Riku, and other friend Kairi, fall into the darkness, and he must find them. Along the way, he meets classics Donald and Goofy, and together they visit many worlds and unravel the secrets of the Heartless, dark beings threatening the very order of the worlds. It's a really epic story towards the end with various conflicts and facing a powerful advesary. All in all, perfect game. Get it. You should already have it. You'd have to be crazy not to!

Well... this is probably my longest post EVER. o_O

    1. FF9
Moogles, Moogles, and more Moogles. Tragic as always, but left a sweet taste in one's mouth. Really the characters were fun and I think, the first FF to have summoners as mains (No tactics doesn't count)..plus did I mention the Moogles?

    2. Okami
A gorgeous game, absolutely stunning. A new and inventive way of forming magic. I own the wii version, which transfers beautifully from the PS2. The gameplay is smooth and the bosses are more than hit and runs.

    3.FF7
Classic, pure classic. Everyone has heard of this game. It's horribly and yet beautifully tragic. The first game that made me cry. I love this game, truly. It's only third because I'm just posting what's coming off my head, the first three are all equal.

    4. Elder Scrolls 5: Oblivion
Man I LOVE this game. The freedom in it is amazing. You whatever you want, whenever you want. The character creation is very detailed (although a bit wasted seeing you hardly see your character). This game has good marks all around.

    5.Shadow Hearts (ONE!)
The graphics are great for it's age. The gameplay is a classic turn-based RPG, with a twist. The Judgment Ring puts a fresh twist on an old idea. The characters are fun and interesting. Haven't played 2 or 3, I saw a vacuum as an attack, I backed off. And it's five because of that gay ghost story you have to sit through.

    6.FFX
I loved how summoning worked in this game. It's the easier of the FFs and a great starter...I however was started on 7...yeah I threw a couple of controllers.

    7. The World Ends With You
Really, the plot made this game. The plot is a first and so is the gameplay. It's such a new idea that's like a fresh breath of air in this time were recycled plots are so common

    8.Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
I love how the controls worked on this game. Yeah the plot is a normal Zelda, nothing too shiny.

    9.Diablo
My first pc rpg, fun but really nothing special. Actually, more like an MMO than a rpg.

    10. Lost in Blue
A rare game to see anymore. Well it really wasn't common when it was first released. The game is a survival based, I don't want to say rpg because that gives the wrong impressions but I suppose that's what is it. Now I don't mean this game is Sims bs. You have three needs Food, Water, and Rest, as long as those are met you're okay. Fun and inventive. Too bad the others blow.

    10. The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker
    Console: Gamecube
Graphics: 9/10 (Love the Cartoon Aspect)
    Soundtrack: 7/10
    Gameplay: 8/10
    Replay value: 7/10
    Genre of game: Adventure
This was one of the first Gamecube game's i got i hadn't played any Zelda games before but i loved the fact that the graphics were kept simple and in a cartoon style. One of the best aspects in the game is the sound effects, people don't talk they make funny sounds and grunts which is really funny and lightens the mood of the game. As far as the gameplay goes you get different equipment and learn different abilities throughout the game which keeps it fresh. One of my all time favs

    9. Gran Turismo 2
    Console: PS1
    Graphics: 7/10
    Soundtrack: 8/10
    Gameplay: 6/10
    Replay value: 5/10
    Genre of game: Racing
My friend got this game before me and i had to lend it off him for the time the graphics and music was awesome. The soundtrack was full of hits of the time, the gameplay was that of a typical racing game, but what got me hooked the detail of modification to mostly everything available on cars. An awesome part of
the game i loved was the licenses which at times were really frustrating but when you did get it you felt relieved until the next class of racing. Best racing game I've played

    8. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
    Console: PSX.
    Graphics: 9/10
    Soundtrack: 7/10
    Gameplay: 10/10
    Replay value: 10/10
    Genre of game: Tactical Espionage.
Absolutely loved this game, the gameplay of this game was amazing the use of camo's and the more alert AI and rustic feel to the game. The story is griping to the end and provided me with a lot of background knowledge to Ocelot and Big Boss. The Soundtrack seemed a little lacking to me apart from the Snake Eater Song, but the replay value to the game is immense, once the game is complete there are still plenty of custscenes to unlock and camo's to achieve. Overall i really enjoyed the motives behind the game giving the player a feel to Ocelot's/Big Boss past.

    7. Dragonball Z Buokai 3
    Console: PS2.
    Graphics: 8/10
    Soundtrack: 10/10
    Gameplay: 8/10
    Replay value: 8/10
    Genre of game: Fighting
I've loved Dragonball Z since the moment i first watched it on Cartoon Network, although there are 2 Budokai games before this, i just desperately wanted to move around the planet Earth of DBZ using my favorite characters. The same applied to the transformations, they seemed to be more fluid in Budokai 3 as well the graphics. Awesome Fighting Anime Game

    6. Metal Gear Solid 4

    Console: PS3
    Graphics: 10/10
    Soundtrack: 9/10
    Gameplay: 10/10
    Replay value: 10/10
    Genre of game: Tactical Espionage
The main reason i bought a Playstation 3, i waited for this game for so long and it killed me when they pushed the released date back, and i must say that the game didn't disappoint. The sound effects the voice acting and the music are unbelievably refined just as the gameplay is. The stealth aspect of the game is further heightened as series progresses bringing new options to the game like interacting with different rebels to become friends and just as the games before it it provides the same replay value. Awesome Game, well worth its price

    5. Final Fantasy X
    Console: PS2.
    Graphics: 8/10
    Soundtrack: 10/10
    Gameplay: 9/10
    Replay value: 9/10
    Genre of game: RPG
The best Final Fantasy game for PS2 by far, i think the music in this game has one of the best soundtracks for any final fantasy game, the music gives a real sense of emotion for me depending on whats happening, the battle system and character switch was an awesome part of the game for me. I found when i played previous Final Fantasy games i would be a real pain if a wanted to train somebody else so i would have to be on the map or at a save point to change so the character swap proved useful. The graphics was top notch considering Final Fantasy had just moved to PS2. The storyline of FFX lived up to the excellent standard of any other Final Fantasy and i really enjoyed the game so many
side missions and secret locations, would have loved if the storyline was a little longer.

4: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

    Console: PS1.
    Graphics: 9/10
    Soundtrack: 9/10
    Gameplay: 10/10
    Replay value: 10/10
    Genre of game: Tactical Espionage
First game i got with my Playstation 2 and couldn't wait for it as i got my PS2 a year after it came out. compared to Metal Gear Solid i was amazed at the sudden change in graphics and really took to the new gameplay and first person shooting. So many aspects of the game changed revitalized graphics, hold up, rolling, shooting round corners, shooting lights, search an enemy, hiding in lockers and the list goes on. Harry Gregson Williams provided again with an awesome soundtrack that suited the new game style and new graphics. The Replay value for me was awesome as i could spend ages trying to get every single dog tag on every single difficulty which proved really hard and still to this day haven't fully completed MGS2. Even before i got MSG2 i wondered how they were going to add to the storyline to MGS and they didn't let down, even though some people hated playing as Raiden i liked it as it gave more of a angle to the game and i always looked forward to seeing snake pop up and helping Raiden like a Mentor. Couldn't wait to play it and still would to this day.

    3: Pokemon Blue
    Console: Gameboy Colour.
    Graphics: 7/10
    Soundtrack: 8/10
    Gameplay: 8/10
    Replay value: 10/10
    Genre of game: Adventure
I might get stick for this, but the game was awesome. I'd watched the series of pokemon when i was a kid and when i heard about the game i couldn't wait to play it. It really lived up to what i wanted from a pokemon game, catch every pokemon, fight your rival, collect the badges, stop team rocket etc. The graphics were pretty good for its time and so was the soundtrack, changing as you got into a new town or battled a gym leader. One of the best feature's for me was the use of trading and battling a friend who also had the game, me and my friends would all play our gameboy's together and compare each other and help each other. Although it wasn't really a multilayer game, it felt like one when we all played at the same time. Best gameboy game ever

    Couldn't decide a No.1 between these 2 games.

    1: Metal Gear Solid
    Console: PS1.
    Graphics: 10/10
    Soundtrack: 10/10
    Gameplay: 10/10
    Replay value: 10/10
    Genre of game: Tactical Espionage
Best Metal Gear game of the series, the first metal gear game i played and have been hooked since. I didn't really know about the previous Metal Gear games before this because i was only a kid. However, compared to some of the games i owned this seemed to be a more grown up game. The storyline seemed to be the
most realistic game i had which i loved, i also thought the graphics were awesome although i didn't really have anything to compare to previously. The amount of sound in the game was unbelievable as it was all voice acted and the soundtrack was fully orchestral, this wasn't a game for me it was and serious action packed movie, AND I LOVED IT

    1. Final Fantasy VII

    Console: PS1.
    Graphics: 10/10
    Soundtrack: 10/10
    Gameplay: 10/10
    Replay value: 10/10
    Genre of game: RPG
The best Final Fantasy game i have played, if not the best game i have played (Par Metal Gear).I had normally played hectic action packed games with so much going on, but i found less can equal more, even though there isn't much happening about from you choosing your type of attack, but loved this type of gameplay. The storyline added to the effect off the game with its detailed storyline of the Ancients, Shinra, The planet, Jenova, Sephiroth, Materia, Weapon. After i had completed a part of the story i liked how i was given objectives in the game without them being directly called objectives in some type off menu (Like in FFX-2). The music was a key factor in me liking the game, around about the time i was playing FFVII i was also playing Metal Gear Solid so i was used to big music and FFVII offered a new type of music with mainly piano pieces. In my personal opinion EPIC!!

Sorry i stole your layout Chez Daja

10.) Super Mario Brothers on the N.E.S.! While I really don't need to tell anyone why this is on my list, I will. NOSTALGIA!!! Everytime I hear the music or see it played I feel as though I am five years old all over again! Plus it is proabably on the top five best side-scrollers of all time, but that is another list all together.

9.) Sonic The Hedgehog! Again, probably on the same top five list as Super Mario Brothers, and again, carries a place in the heart of my inner child. I grew up as a Sega kid more so than a Nintendo kid, so this game is iconic to me!

8.) Shadowrun (Sega Genesis). This game was my first foray into the Cyber-Punk genre, and is probably the most identifiable Cyber-Punk game of all time. The world was fascinating and the gameplay was enthralling! Everything was so dark and you could trust NO ONE! It was my first exposure to adult gaming, so it will always be special to me.

7.) Samurai Showdown! The best 2D fighting game of all time! It had all the elements that you could want in a fighter! Great characters! Great control! Great moves! Plus it is the ONLY fighting game of that era with interactive sword-play. Sure, there were other games featuring sword weilding characters, but you couldn't cross blades or disarm them! In my opinion, the most ground-breaking fighter of all time. It paved the way for Guilty Gear, which I believe sort of took the torch that Samurai Showdown has lit.

6.) Metal Gear Solid! My first exposure to the "Stealth" Genre and I will never forget it! I can't count the nights that I played that game in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down. Anyone who remembers their first time playing MGS remembers the thrill of sneaking up on a guy and snapping his neck, then disappearing into the shadows to find another unsuspecting victim!

5.) 1000 Arms on the Playstation was just plain FUN! It may not have been the best RPG, or even the most challenging by a longshot, but it was FUN! I love Meis and I though the battle system was unbelievable! I also really enjoyed the weapon upgrade system! All in all, 1000 Arms is just a good time!

4.) Final Fantsy VII. C'mon, this is on everyone's list and for good reason too! Whatever glowing endorsement others have given, probably says it all for me, so I wont comment in detail.

3.) Final Fantasy VI is probably the finest 2D RPG of all time, and in my opinion was just a bit better than VII, for the following reasons! Kefka is more evil than Sephiroth. The soundtrack is 8-bit majesty. More playable characters, and a classic story!

2.) Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne! Two words: Satanic Poke'mon...Nuff said.

1.) Xenogears! The most complex and layered stroy of any RPG before or since. Extremely well developed characters and it's groundbreaking style, though flawed, was so unique, that anyone who had a complaint about the bitmap sprites being "choppy", stopped caring after playing through it for about an hour! I dare anyone to play this game and say it is anything less than a masterpiece!

Re: Your Top Ten List (Descriptive!)

Wow. A lot of people here have really good tastes.

    10
    Resident Evil 4
    Third Person Shooter/Survival Horror
    Gamecube/PC/PS2

This was actually the first horror game I've played, so by no means am I a horror expert. When I say it was the scariest game I've ever played, judge that statement by the same token.

My friend just brought it to school one day after I'd told him I wasn't interested. He brought it so I'd feel obligated to take it home, and I did. It was just incredibly fun. A really solid length of close to 30 hours. Genuinely scary scenes and some small, roleplaylike aspects that I liked heaps. Brilliant game, so brilliant that I swallowed my pride and told my friend how much so.

    9
    Empire: Total War
    Real Time/Turn Based Strategy Game
    PC

It really is just the pynnical of history, and strategy. The game is set during the 18th century which is where the major European powers were focusing on colonising newly discovered lands and building Empires.

It's really hard to describe why this game is so great, given there are so many strategy games based on history, that try to emulate the same thing. It really is the best of it's kind though, in my opinion.

    8
    Dragon Quest VIII
    Roleplaying game
    PS2

Dragon Quest is another game I was cynical about trying. I found the artstyle interesting, but whilst I'd been sick, my brother had been playing it non-stop and hogging the TV. The game happens to have a repetitive soundtrack, and with that combined, I just grew embittered towards it.

A year later, I gave it a go, and I really really liked it. The world of Dragon Quest VIII is so magical. Though cheesy, the voice acting was made up almost entirely of European accents, and it was really welcome. The game had a really retro, Japanese feel, something that was absent from Final Fantasy XII, a game I had played recently before it.

    7
    Fallout 3
    Roleplaying Game
    PC/Xbox 360/PS3

I actually made a short post about this game in it's respective thread here, but it really is a remarkable game. Even though there are games of the same genre and design with more content, the content of Fallout 3 is unrivalled. Every quest takes you on an adventure where you completely forget the backline plot of the actual game.

The world, or rather the city of Washington is such a real place to be in. Everything is believeable? There aren't many games that can say that.

    6
    Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos
    Real-Time Strategy
    PC

I remember when I played this game first, it was on a real bad 256RAM pc and it lagged badly. Needless to say, I gave up really quickly and forgot about it for 2 years. After those 2 years, with a new, superior PC, I ran it, and it fast became one of my favourite games ever.

The story is really suprisingly good for a RTS. Sure, they focus on gameplay more than anything, but whoever was behind the story, made a really good one. The world is likeable, hence the eventual release of World of Warcraft. Whilst it does borrow a lot from Lord of the Rings, it does enough to make it it's own.

Then of course there is D.O.T.A. Hehe.

    5
Fire Emblem VII: The Blazing Sword
    Role Playing Game/Turn Based Strategy
    GBA

I've only ever played this game as a Emulator and Rom, which really is a testament to it's greatness, seeing as it is so high on my all time list. I bet you're probably cynical of the fact that I don't own a favourite game, which is fair I guess. I never bought a gameboy advance, partly because I don't like Nintendo games normally, but this one really is just something else.

It's addictive, with ridiculous amounts of replability value. It's story is there, and its intellectually challenging like all games should be. Its easy to play the game without strategy, but aiming to go through the entire game without a single character death is something I thoroughly enjoy doing. The music, gameplay, story and even the loveable anime-style graphics are a winner.

    4
    Final Fantasy XII
    Roleplaying Game
    PS2

Some people don't like this game, and I honestly understand why. I do. Some people dislike it for the wrong reasons, like that it's battle system is boring, or that it's too easy. This is such a cop out. A made up reason to strengthen someone's claim for not liking the game.

The real reason, and a legitimate reason, is that most people think the story isn't there, and look that's fair. The story has issues. I think it is there. I think it has potential, but its untapped. There aren't enough cutscenes and it's conveyed through weak central characters.

I still enjoyed the game so much, more than so many of the other Final Fantasy titles I'd grown up on. For what it does, it is simply perfect. Some of the supporting characters, like the Judges, Larsa, Reddas, Vossler, Al Cid and Cid, are just some of the best characters in the series.

    3
    Final Fantasy IX
    Roleplaying Game
    PSX

I really enjoy the fact that this is Hironibu Sakaguchi's favourite game, and Nobuo Uematsu's favourite soundtrack. It really is everything a Final Fantasy game, nay an RPG, should be.

It's retro, but fresh. Strangery enough, my favourite part of this game is simply it's levelling system, or I guess its gameplay as a whole. Normally I connect through Final Fantasy games foremost through their story, which is complimented by sound gameplay, but it was the other way around for this.

It just ran so smoothly and gave the player so many choices. It's a fickle thing, but after Final Fantasy VIII and VII, it felt so good to be able to equip so many items and accessories to a single character. It felt nice having 8 characters instead of 6. It felt nice having classes instead of Junctioned abilities.

It's just a credit to the JRPG industry and is likely to maintain that No.3 spot for a long time.

    2
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
    Stealth Action Adventure/3rd Person Shooter
    PS3

God I love this game. It is actually my most completed game ever. I must have finished it and replayed it twenty times at least, on all difficulties. I bought the walkthrough after owning the game for a year, just so I could milk it all that much more.

I remember when I was flicking through a magazine and I saw a 'Top 10 Saddest gaming moments' with a Snake Eater moment at No.3. It really made my day. It made my day moreso when I saw Snake Eater at No.8 in an IGN Top 100. The game is flipping superb. There is nothing like it. It's so realistic, but so bizzarre and supernatural at the same time. It really is special, as is Snake.

    1
    Final Fantasy VII
    Roleplaying Game
    PC/PSX

I know it's awfully predictable, but it has to be said. Sometimes I wish I could just say that it wasn't, because I myself tend to raise an eyebrow to someone who declares VII as their favourite. But it really just is. It coined everything for me. I started on it, and because of it, I was able to finish every major titled and be so enlightened as a gamer.

The game really needs no explanation. The spin offs, movies and prequels are rubbish and are unneeded. All you need is this game, which is a relic in time. It really gave me some of the best months in my life. I was only 7 when I played it with my brother. I went on to finally win it by myself when I was 12. Twas a joyous moment.

    Cheers for read.

Re: Your Top Ten List (Descriptive!)

OK I'm the new guy so this might give you an insight on my "gaming personality"
10.Megaman X-4- This game stands out to me because of it fun playstyle. It was the first X series Megaman game I had ever played and I loved it so i played the rest. Definitely a must play for any Megaman fan.
9.Metroid Prime- Long had I awaited an FPS Metroid game just to see if they would ruin the series with it. Gladly they did not. The game was challenging with puzzles and combat and equipment usage as in every other metroid game but this was 3-D and FPS. I have always been a Metroid fan since the Metroid and Metroid 2 on NES. I still remember the cheat code for the original (Justin Bailey).
8.Ocarina of Time- This was hands down the best N64 Zelda game made. Such a beautiful game and great story. Not quite as cartoony as the newer one (exception: Twilight Princess). The 3-D perspective and new characters like the Zora are awesome. The temples are challenging and not horrendously hard. The gameplay was funand there was no BS time limit like in Majora's Mask.
7.Zelda Link to the Past- If you have ever played a Zelda game this is a must. The game is classic. Just .... just play it if you haven't and you'll love it. I cant really think of why I like it so much I just do.
    6. Darksiders- This game is like a dark Zelda game. I love it! You play one of the 4 Horseman of the Apocalypse (War) and have to destroy a Demon conveniently named the Destroyer. Along the way you battle Angels and Demons but where are the people? Well the angels and demons killed them already.Bad time to be a human I guess. Anyway you go through several dungeons in a certain order that corresponds to the equipment you collect at each "temple". You cant reach the next til you get the items from the current or previous one. But anyway that's why i like it.
    5. Battlefield 2- I have logged hundreds of hours playing this addictive shooter. Early on I had to make sure I left my computer off so that I would be less inclined to start my PoS computer and play this game. It started out i wanted to unlock everything. Well I did then came SF. Yay more stuff. Then Armored Fury and Euroforce boosters along with new weapons and vehicles and maps. Until my wife decided to show what was wrong with it. She downloaded the game then got some hacks and pwned me baaad. I play it every once in a while still but no where near as much.
4.Final Fantasy 9- This game was a welcome relief from FF8 (which, to me sucked some unmentionable things belonging to other unmentionable things that you might find in a really dark ally in a really bad neighborhood) It was fun to play and the characters had a tendency to make me chuckle. I like the idea of learning your abilities from your equipment and keeping them when you change your stuff (once mastered of course). It was beautifully done and didn't leave me thinking about shooting myself in the foot to make sure I'm not drooling from boredom like 8 did.
3.Castlevania Symphony of the Night- Possibly one of the last great sidescrollers, this is just one of those games I absolutely love. It was challenging up to a point but once you get the best sword in the game (Kisegrim I think) it gets a little too easy. I went through that holy gave barefisted once just to see if i could do it. That was a challenge. Took me 2 hours to kill Dracula like that.
2.Final Fantasy 7- I liked this game before i found out how popular it was. The intricate story is what made it for me. I have done every single thing that can be done in the game to include obtaining 3 sets of Master Materia. It is also compelling(yet insanely frustrating the first time) to see a party member die and not come back. My buddies always say "What?! Run outta Pheonix Downs?" But oh well. The materia system is also awesome.
    1. Chrono Trigger-I love the story, i mean come on....time travel, magic, dinosaurs, robots. The games charactors all relate to me in some way. Luca is the nerd who likes to build a take things apart. Magus is a little emo but he has a goal. etc. The combat style was excellent. No transition scenes the characters just kinda jump in place and your hud comes up and away you go. Multiple endings makes for replay value. The "Tech" system was great and combine those with your teamates made it that much better. I could go on for a long time about how much i love this game but i will cut it short.
