People, what's with the inactivity of the club....??? No fights going on around you?

Well, it's been quite quiet around here as well, with some exceptions that is.

This isn't an actual fight, like fights should be, but, anyways. Some people got their asses kicked & i was there to tell the tale.

You see, 3 days ago, i didn't go to school because of a stomachache. So, i stayed at home until a friend of mine told me to go to his college to have lunch. It's not always eadible, but the food in unis is really cheap.

So, we went there & while having lunch in a corridor outside, leading to the college basement, there were loud voices shouting. It was familiar, it was a somewhat saying that we used to hear during the period when the schools were shut down by the students.

So, we went out & found out that students from two "students' political parties" were quarreling, the PASP & the EAAK. The leaders of those parties were shouting at each other & the EAAK ones were acuusing the others that they were being payed by the 2nd biggest political party in Greece. The students' parties are supposed to be the stage that politically stabilizes the students for when they are "Greek Citizens"( if you are with the PASP, you are PASOK & so on...) .....LOL, i know...

So, someone said something to a girl from the EAAK & things got fired up. The EAAKites were more than the others & had backup from my uni & others, so they didn't hold back, while the others were only some trendy boys & girls.

And the fight started!!! The EAAKites rushed onto them punching like blind, you know, it's like having a pack of boars fight in a rapier duel. They didn't know shit about fighting, but what can you say, they were outnumbering the others. They would jump on the tables & tear the PASP wallpapers as if it was "Stupid Gay Monkey Time +3", you know. Then, there came some PASP members & run onto them, but some of them saw them & threw chairs at them. One chair landed on a dude's forehead. We're talking about serious damage there.

Someone lifted a garbage can, a big one & while he was trying to throw it on some dude, another one punched him & it fell of his hands, bounced on the pavement & hit me in the ass.....hahahahahahahahahahahaahaha

Some student received serious damage. One is said to have been attacked by 15 others & a girl got smacked in the face by those gangsta-super-cool-manly folks who hit girls. And the next day, it was as if nothing happened.

It's as a friend of mine says. The greek Greece, where you fight one another for their political beliefs, especially when they are just 19-20 years old, when they know nothing about politics, when they see the terrible state which the politicians brought our country to, when they should have already realized that those people will never care about the commonfolk & will just make sure they steal as much as they can, like parasites on the back of the country. Anyhow, i don't want to make this an intellectual discussion, i'm just telling you briefly what i saw.

Those dumbasses....I hate that. But the whole incident was amazing. They would attack as if they had something to fight for; while they didn't. I had never before seen something like that in a such narrow space like that corridor.

Well, later on, me and my friends might put on our graduation robes again, and go (safely) swordfight while a friend takes pictures. Should be fun.

Hell, of course it will be fun, I'm going after all. Perhaps he'll bring along that wooden gunblade replica I bought him. In which case, I'll bring along my Masamune boken. It's a six foot long wooden sword, FTW!

Fun times to be had, and perhaps even pictures for the forum afterwords.

That's nice...but the robes whould hinder your movement right? But it's not serious, so it will be funny..

Instead of just taking pictures, i would take some clips & turn then into a movie. We don't have a fighting movie yet, but the idea is ready & so is that what we call the movie script. It's gonna be titled " The Fellowship Of The Fellowship".

If we get to make it, i'll be sure to post parts of it. It's gonna be too long for me to upload more than just parts of it.

    PS. Masanunes rockkkk!!!

Celt.., I think disappeared..., or got in trouble... Either way, I think he'll be dormant for a while.

(sigh) I'm working triple shifts now, so most people are not out at 4 in the morning over here. Not much to fight about when you're dead tired.

Anyway Cloudy, that movie thing might be a fun idea. Maybe we could also make music videos with reenacted scripted fights. Too bad we all live so far away from each other.

With that computer speed problem, We could post it on YouTube or something like that. Then we could just make links instead.

Hey, do any of you guys play any of the Soul Calibur series? I got 3 and had 2. I heard that 4's coming out next year.

I've got SC II non Gamecube, mostly because of Link; i love Link. The controls are great, the moves are great & my fav character, Kilik is really strong. Although their final weapons aren't that strong as in SC III.

I also have SC III, it's a pity it's only on PS2....I adore that game nonetheless. The characters are pretty good, even if Kilik isn't that strong. His Soul Calibur is a strong weapon, but his Final Weapon in II, the Long Red one was better.

The fact that you can create your oun characters with great diversity in their appearance & their weapons & classes gives another depth to the game.

The mode "Tales of Swords" or whatever it was called, the tactics+fighting mode is my favourite one, although i find it impossible to beat the final stage. They have more units than i do & even if i get lucku to go to the last one with more than two units, he'll beat me down...

  6. #66
Yea, Tales of the Sword is kinda hard. I never got through the last level either. He really does just beat you down.

SC III is an anti-button-masher game. It can be really hard at times, expecially when your fingers are tired. I was on one of the Missions, the Survival one on medium. I got all the way to the last one, then died. Couldn't get up and got hammered. 30 fights can be tireing.

I'm OK with Kilik, but I'm better with Sigfried. Heavy broadswords all around, you know? It's great that they split up Nightmare and Sigfried; sorta like a redeamed good and a absorbing evil fight.

I haven't played in some time, but i still remeber some things about it.

Yeah. It's better that way. My brother likes Siegfried. He can do some decent damage. I don't like him that much because he is slow & a faster character can prove difficult. In the tales of Swords, i had trouble beating him, he was Lv70 & lucky, while most of my chars were Lv45 or so.

I liked Kilik because of SC II, where he was stronger. But he does have some acrobatical moves here too...
When it comes to broadswords & stuff, i like the barbarian class. Not just because i can customize some wicked barbarians, but also because when they're using the Iron Sword type of weapons, they have some good moves. I don't remember clearly, but there is this move >,>+Square i think, the one where hensmacks his sword in fron of him, with it engulfed in flames. It's a strong move & it also is unblockable.

The stupid thing with barbarians is that they aquire the Soul Of Nightmare & Soul Of Astaroth. I'd rather have a Soul Of Siegfried; but that was obtainable by the Knight class along with the Soul of Raphael. Anyhow, i think that Raphael has the strongest Final Weapon because it can recover health each time you hit the opponent and every time you block (??? maybe, not sure).

One question: Have you beaten that Lv99 old dude in one of the last stages in Tales of Souls?

Me? haha I've just been busy with several things. It is the HSC year at school after all. The big one. And I have made several promises and/or commitments to people I have to keep. A promise is a promise as they say.

As for the soul calibur games, another fave of mine. I prefer a custom character in 3 though, a swordmaster with a lance. With that setup I'm virtually unbeatable.

Nope, he killed me even when I went up against him with all 5 members of my team. He still had over half his life, too when I lost to him. I tried several times, but to no success. I just skipped him after my 8 attempt. Thank god he doesn't come out of the tower.

Anyway Celt, yea the lance guys are great characters, too. Long range, decient damage, and you can make the lance spin like a rotor blade, knocking enemies back. I really like the..., um..., I think, back side grapple, when you stick the lance in the ground, and then twist your opponinent around it, then slam them into the ground. Makes for a real grewsome finisher move.

I'm good with most heavy weilders, but for some reason, I found out, that I'm the best with Sofitia. Unrelenting attacks, quick hits, and...., um..., quite unusual grapples.... lol. I got about 8 perfects in a row in the Tournament areas with her.

My custom class is the Knight class. It has everything I'm good with. I love the flying/jumping forward slash move. Usually I use it to get behind my enemies, and use a grapple, the one where you put your opponent on the blade edge, and then do a cartwheel with it. The class is faster then Siegfried, so it's better balanced for me.

Hey Celt, other then the swordmaster class (everyones good with the swordmaster class), which is your fav.?

And Have you guys ever made one based on another character from other games/movies/TV shows?

I did manage to defeat that guy. I wasn't really into fighting him, but i tried, i was really lucky & even if two of my warriors died, i defeated him with that Iron Sword-wielding girl; the knight one...her name, i don't remember it. It's been long since i last played it.

About characters from shows & stuff, the only one i made was Zorro- with the rapier. I also made a female Kilik, whe wasn't isentikal, but wtf...even a Tifa i made, a ninja, was freaky, didn't look that much like Tifa.

I tried to make a santa last christmas. He looked like a jolly red hobbo.
As for my favourite character other than swordmaster, I'd say knight. For the lances y'know. And pirates, if I'm playing a speedster who won't allow the lancemen to get an attack in edgewise. Chinese swords can be a lot better than their reputation.

As for other characters, I did make some who were like others, and the KOS-MOS I'm sure everyone's made from the type X female parts. It's good for a bit of fun.

Yeah, those X type parts were very expensive though...

One other thing. Soul Calibur III & Tekken V are both made my Namco, right?

Can someone tell me why while SC kicks ass, Tekken has to be so bad?

The controls in SC are very good for a PS2 game, 3 types of attacks, defence & combinations, characters can run around & stuff.
On the other hand, Tekken is one of the slowest games i've ever played. Let's say i'm using Jin. That guy is HUGE, but when he kicks, it takes long for him to move his kicking leg, so long that the other leg is already rotten & stinks!!! The character movements age slow like hell, the one who arranged the buttons must be retarded & having to press the < to defend....no comment.

My point is that since they made SC so good, how could they have turned Tekken into a pile of crap? Before that i had only played Tekken III & i can say that it was worth it. Five is not.

oooh may I please join? I kinda get in a lot of scarps with certain social groups and around here it's kinda rough. So I've got a nice story to tell...

Ok so me and a group of "dirty goths" were walking home from thrybergh(which is chav central, you either walk fast, run or die) There were about 20 of us, 9 girls and 11 boys if I remember correctly. We kept to the back streets cause it's safer but we got caught by a bunch of about 40 chavs, most of them guys and a couple with golfs clubs. Needless to say we legged it,it was hardly a fair fight. But a friend of mine got caught with a broken collarbone and my boyfriend almost got smacked round the head. I managed to punch a couple of the lasses which was a mistake as there boyfriends were all "hey WTF do you think you're doing hit my girlfriend" and it all kinda turned it a brawl and run.

That happened about 3 weeks ago and it's kinda common, but you get used to it after a while.

Oh by the way I have Soul Calibur 3 and played 2, I think they're great games! But 3 is better cause I feel there is more to do and making your own character is always good.

Well, it's up to General Celtic {lol! formal talk!!} , up to celtic_silver, but i don't think he'll have a problem with you joining. So, consider that you have joined, i guess. We have all had our share of scraps & him; more than the rest i'd say.

He was that kind of gangs down there, & so do i, although it's not that farfetched here in Greece. Those people are fracking cowards who need someone to teach them a lesson or two.

You punched a couple of girls...damn, i've never seen a girl fight...it's different. Anyhow, it's never late to witness one.

About Soul Calibur, the depth that III has cannot be compared to the one in II. I can't wait for IV....but if it comes out on PS3....it will take years before i buy it.

Wow, a girl fight? The one's over here you see pull hair, slap each other, scratch just like a usualy cat fight. However, this one time at school, this tall girl got in a fight with this big girl and the big girl knocked the shit out of her. She was throwing punches like crazy. Seriously, the tall girl got messed up. Her mouth was bleeding, and her nose was busted. Just ****ing crazy. But yeah.

Its been a while since I've been in any fights. I really need to get back into boxing or something. Cage fighting's been something I wanted to do for a while.

Anyone ever heard of College Hill? If not, its a T.V show. A reality show to add that. Anyways in this one episode, these two girls name Vanessa and Crystal get in a fight. I get the two confused but one of them ran to the eac other and started fighting. The other one had a high heel in her hand and she started beating her in the face with it. Her face was ouring with blood and she had to get stitches the next day.

Consider yourself in. All fight fans welcome. And most others too. As for the soul calibur games, a welcome bonus.

And Tekken, cloudy? Yeah too slow, it's almost a strategy game as you can think slowly about what move to use next. haha If you memorise the moves you can be near unbeatable.

That's all from me for now.

Hey folks...do you know if i can find a copy of Ehrgeiz? I don't know if it was ever released in Europe & when i first read about it it was before i plyaed FF VII, thus, before becoming a fan of the series.

I've heard that it was a fairly good game by some, while some others said that it's gameplay is something that makes you wanna stop living. If you've played it, what do you think?

I've played it and I liked it a bit, but I think it may have only been due to the ffvii characters present. As for availability, it's very hard to get a copy now, but you should be able to find a copy on an online auction site. The price might be a little steep though. My copy set me back $150 Australian. And I bought it a couple of years back.

Alternatively, you could scout a lot of second hand stores. You might get lucky.

I know what you mean. I am only interested in it because of the FF VII characters as well. It's the only fighting game with FF VII characters so far, since Dissidia hasn't been released. And even if it is released soon, since i think it's on the PSP & i don't plan on getting one, it's as if Ehrgeiz is the only one.

There aren't many secondhand stores here & you have to know Athens like the back of your hand to find them; well, i don't.

Even online, i think it's gonna be hard to find a PAL one. I have seen NTSC ones here & there, but i can't play those...

That game comes out sometime in 2008, and it is only for the PSP. You all probably read the other thread I posted already on that anyway.

More info on Soulcalibur IV. (no, that's not a typo, that's how you spell it now, according to the company)

Sig and Nightmare has absorbed Soulcalibur and Soul Edge into their bodies, respectively. and are now over flowing with power.

Soulcalibur now looks like a Crystal sword that exploded, then froze in place..., basically a shattered sword, that kicks ass. It's also in it's standard form is Sig's style or Broadsword.

Soul Edge looks like a widened Claymore and is entirely red. Nightmare's armor now has a glowing core with teeth looming around it. It's now nearly impossible to cosplay, now.

This game will include Online play, guaranteed!

    Release date: sometime in 2008.

Also a Soulcalibur game for the Wii, called Soulcalibur Legends. It's an action/adventure style game. Not much else in known about it.

More news, I got Virtual Fighter 5, for the PS3. It really lives up to it's name! What really sucks, is that I found out it's coming for the 360 with online play. Damn, should have waited... It comes out in a few months.

Other fighting game that are coming out sometime in the future, Tekken 6: late 07/early 08, Super Smash Bros. Brawl: soon 07, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix: soon 07 for 360 and PS3 as downloadables.

I have only one thing to say aqbout the Soul Edge; it's the worst sword in the game. Or at least it was in III. It was strong, but the price was too much. If you didn't beat the opponent fast, you'd die.

The worst thing is that when it's a 2 player fight and one of the players deflects & dodges all the time, he'll surely be victorious. Only when a strong CP uses it he can kick your ass.

The sould Calibur is a million times better & some of it's forms even better than the rest. Raphael's form had great effects, even if i never liked Raphael...

The pics in my magazine kills. Yea Soul Edge kinda sucked, depending on who used the weapon. Soulcalibur is, in my opinion, the better weapon.

I fought those who use Guardbreaks and quick dodges before and countered their counters. When I'm at the top of my game, I can get Perfects all in a row during the Tournaments in SCIII. I'm out of touch right now.

(Side Note: When loosely translated, the name, "Raphael", means "Squall". I found that out cuz one on the aircraft in Ace Combat 5 is the French Raphael fighter.)

Sorry I've been neglecting the guild for so long.

I'm glad they had rebalanced Raphael for SC3. Everyone knows what move I'm talking about. Raphael's infamously cheap forward, triangle, triangle, triangle move. It was virtually impossible to dodge or break if it ever connected.

The new concept art for SC4 kicks ass. I'm more a Seigfried fan now since Seigfried plays more like SC2 Nightmare than SC3 Nightmare does.

I vaguely remember SC1 for Dreamcast. I think Nightmare was the game boss.

Anyone remember the original of the series? I think it was Soul Blade for the PS1. If I remember correctly, it had Sieg, Sofitia, Cervantas, Taki, Kilik, Rock, and a few others, like current characters' masters and teachers.

I don't own the game myself, but I have a code book with codes for that game in it.

(Side Note: sledge hammers hurt..., a lot. So I'm not sure how anyone can get up after Rock pounds them into the ground with one.)

It's not that hard to get up... So long as you don't mind an awful lot of internal bleeding and some crushed ribs and the like. Unless the hammer hits you square in the head in which case you're dead before you finish the thought you were thinking.... (j/k)
Sledge hammers do indeed bloody hurt... And I've only ever felt one hit me from the front with little momentum. If I was lying on the ground and one started coming down....
Death is the only thing I foresee there.

Anyway, our clubs sort of stagnant at the moment...
Can anyone think up another good topic?

Uh... how about terrible injuries..., from loosing fights or fight related injuries? Sorta like my other thread in the Tavern. No rating needed though.

I got in a fight recently, that left me rather sore. I got double teamed by two guys, each with sledge hammers. Hit me in the gut, and they were about to finish me, when I put my arms in a cross block. When it connected, it launched me several feet across the pavement, skidding. Thankfully someone almost hit them with their car, causing them to flee, otherwise, I'd most likely be quite dead right now.

Coughed up a little blood, stomach pains, arms felt like a pile of crap, and my back was all scrapped to hell and back, . Unusually, no broken bones again. I thought I would after something like that.

Hospitals are not that bad. One day in and right back out. Still need time to recuperate, though.

    Damn.
You were lucky. I was against one guy with a sledgehammer and he caused me some nasties. Good topic though...
Well I forget what I wrote about in the tavern....
But I've been a lot luckier last few weeks. Just a bit of bruising and a few scrapes, barely noticeable. It may be proportionate to the amount of time I stay lazing around here now. It seems I'm on the net for periods of up to 12 hours a day? Whatever the case it's a lot of it...

It's not gonna be like this forever though. Just that I got several exams and stuff on around now. I'm near the end of my final year of schooling.

Yeah only real scar recently is one on my left shoulder. Scraped by a knife. Not a good hit, but enough for scarring...

Just another update, a fun little tale of today. I had a little fun earlier moving some wood from one place to another for a project. Anyway I was holding my three 90x19x900mm planks walking back home when some guys decided they wanted to play rough. Now what are the properties of cheap Radiata Pine? Well it's very cheap, very light and reasonably solid. So I had the time of my life smooshing some of the faces of some of Dapto's (un)finest. It almost felt like holding a baseball bat with a monstrously fat handle. Good fun.
And nary a scratch once again. Lucky me. haha

So I need another $10 or so for pine, but man was that shit fun. Keep posting your stories guys.

Man, you're luck, Fur. Usually when I get caught up in a knife fight, I'm stuck unarmed.

Stuck in another one, knife fight, but really easy. One of those classic back-alley muggings but it didn't turn out the way he expected. After my refusal, he started with a lunge..., a very slow lunge. I came right around him, first used a pressure point forcing him to drop his knife, then literally pulled a German Supplex and flipped him onto his head, not too hard, I only wanted to scare him off. He reared back a little and threw another knife I didn't notice the first time catching me in my right arm, grazing the surface with a small but noticeable cut. I think he felt a little cocky. I bolted right at him, in almost one motion, threw him with my bleeding forearm into a wall, then with my left, forced him down midair into the ground. I took a small step back and made it appear I was launching a finishing blow to the face with a kick, but stopped literally a centimeter from his nose. I pulled back, watching the guy scramble up and run for his life. He was comically tripping as he ran out of the small street.

One scar isn't bad for one small fight, right?

Yikes. I'm not a fan of real life fights. I can appreciate the sporting and symbolic aspects of it, and the certain beauties and ways of life it carries, but I'm not fond of actual combat. I am even fond of the precision, aesthetics, and design of many weapons.
But we live in the modern age; We can kill each other with more precision, ease, and effectiveness than ever before in history. People used to rely on melee weapons because the time and money intensive process of creating ammunition for bows and crossbows was less effective. Martial arts were invented as a form of defense that could be used even if you were disarmed.
In modern times however, none of the methods are as effective as the common handgun. All that is needed is a single shot to the head, and the target is either dead or incapacitated. Weapons of fear, such as blades, are for muggers. Weapons of effectiveness, such as a gun, are for self-defense.

In a fight, I have no discipline and a low pain tolerance. In fact, if I get hit in the head, I'll just give up. The head is where I keep my brain and four of my sensory organs.

The lack of debilitating damage in Soul Calibur has somewhat bothered me too. In the interest of fairness and maintaining a T rating, there's no blood, dismemberment, and fighters are only "knocked out." Seigfried's and Nightmare's use of armor also has no effect on the amount of damage taken. Their giant zweihandler-type swords do not have the expected effect of killing the opponent.

I own an old PS1 game called Bushido Blade in which the weapons cause bleeding, dismemberment, dibilitation, and even 1-hit-kills. Needless to say, blocking is very important in this game. Just because it's a videogame doesn't mean that a sword to the head won't kill you.
This game has a first-person perspective gameplay mode, a feature not used in any fighting game since. It didn't work particularly well, but it was interesting.

whats up guys. Im joining the guild as i am training to me a UFC fighter and i have a lot of great fight stories so far. AS young as i can remember ive always been in fights lol. when i was about 12 there was this kid at my bus stop who annoyed me so i punched him in the stomach a few times then i cracked his nice with an uppercut. Thats when i was boxing. I boxed from when i was 7-13. Now im back inot it. Recently i was working with a kid who said some derogatory things to me so i ran at him broke his nose and knocked out a few of his teeth. I hated that kid. He was 16 i think. Im an intense dude . ill post future incidents lol.
