Actually, he was just an exception that I had a disagreement with. I'm usually cool about everyone else, but Laura does have the final say about who gets in.

I think three co-leaders would've been better, because when the two of us are at different ends, a third would make the decision, but alas, no third.

Yes... I think this club is a pretty good idea and I hope that we can make TFF better and more active by discussing solutions in this club.

This has already been said, but I think it would be nice if there would be more activities. It would be nice to have more banner competitions or possibly some sort of writing competition. We could also think of others. It seems like right now, the only activities that we really have are roleplaying, and it would be nice if we could have other things as well.

This kind of goes along with the activity, but I also think it would be nice if we could have more diversified posts. It seems like right now, Word Games and General Chat is where most of posts go, and it would be nice if we could raise the activity of some of the other forums as well. It seems like there are a lot of forums right now that are in a slump and aren't posted in very often.

Why do you want to be a part of this group?
To improve TFF. I think that is mainly the purpose of the club.


As for the MSN discussion, I agree with SOLDIER #819, that it could be kind of cool to combine the Member Profile, Picture, and MSN threads together.

If not, I think it would be nice just to sticky a thread and have it updated to include people's MSN. If it wasn't stickied, it would probably get lost and it wouldn't really serve much of a purpose anymore.

I also think that it would be pretty nice if we could start the Adopt A Newbie Foundation back up. It seems like there are so many members that come here and only stay for a short while and then never return. I think that if they were more involved right from the beginning, the chances of them staying would be much higher. I'm sure there are plenty of people right now that would be willing to "adopt" new members.

I don't think that it is a bad idea for staff members to adopt new members. I think that if staff members did adopt members, it would make the staff seem more friendly like Mistress Sheena said. I think it is a great thing for the staff to become more involved.

I'm not trolling, just stating my opinion on the validity of this club, so chill out please. We've already discussed several topics at hand in the shinra forums that people in the tff council have brought up, and I don't see the stance of anything changing. For example, the whole "adopt a noob" or whatever you guys call it has been discussed over a year ago there, and due to people realizing that there really aren't that many people that join TFF that have enough merit to adopt, so therefore the whole situation is not really needed. From one of Nixon's (the tffer, not the former president rofl) quotes, 'Considering new members last an average of two days..' which has merit despite the way he put it.

I'm just saying, do we really need Shinra if we have the TFF Council, or vice versa? Is it really a problem to question having something that is already there? Why pay the insurance for two Mercedes-Benz when you only drive one for all of your needs, while the other just sits in the garage collecting dust? Sorry to get you all off-topic, but if anyone wants to flame me or call me names, feel free to do so in a PM, wouldn't want to get people upset.

With Shinra, people have to wait for everyone to agree on giving someone access, and then an admin has to go in and give them access. Here, everyone has access and can apply for membership, because everyone knows about it. I don't see why we should limit positive forum discussions to one location.

I wouldn't have an objection if it didn't seem like sarcasm. It's hard to understand what people mean on a forum sometimes. If I believed the intentions to be of an actual effort to improve the forums, it'd be no problem, but I think that I'd be a little cautious about this until Laura returned and cast her own decision. I'm not entirely bothered who joins; as long as they seem to want to do something about the way the forums run.
If it's true; that he'd like to help, then it'd be easy to reconsider this "objection", but for now, I'm not sure what to make of it.

Personally, I think too many people were allowed to join. I know that no one really has the right to turn people down if they want to help, but I think some rules should have been made to filter who could become a member of council. I know this is a place for people to post an idea or opinion, but a seperate thread lets say... in general chat could be made for people not in the group to post an opinion, and that opinion gets discussed here.

One or two people seem to have joined just for the fun of the club - yeah, it's supposed to be fun, but it should only be open to people who've been here a certain length of time, with a certain post count or whatnot. I'd have objections to someone who'd only been at the forums for a few days to join.

It's Laura's final say, I'm just bringing it all out there. And while I disagree with the way Rocky barged in and trolled the thread (aka derailment. *points to my warning for just that.*), I agree with the points that he made.

I think, overall, the council is a bad idea. At least at this point in time. It needed to have been thought out a lot more before it was made.

Like I said, less amount of members, certain length of time...and instead of just being all talk, we need to have action done with whatever we talk about.

I don't want to repeat Shinra's hopeless history of dying with all talk and no action.
Rocky's right. We've talked about everything in the past and no one ever did anything about it. We either didn't have the time, didn't care enough, or some other excuse.

So here it is it we buy anonymous gifts and give them to people with clues to see if they can figure out who it is.

I'll be giving you a warning for coming into the club with the sole purpose to just bash its existence. You've been here long enough to know right from wrong.

Second, on the subject of being tactful. Ocean, you could have been more tactful with the way you addressed Rocky. Just because he's flaming doesn't mean you can return it back, even if it was on a lesser degree. You need to be more diplomatic. If there's a problem with someone, report it. Then I'll deal with the member.

I find it interesting that Shin-Ra was brought up, because I was thinking about it when this club was first created. I created it... but unfortunately I (and the admins afterward) did not maintain it and continue to add more members. Now Shin-Ra is basically made up of mods, ex-mods, or mods-to-be. It's no one's fault and it isn't intentional, so please don't take it "that way." The membership has just not been updated in a long, long time.

That being said, I think the Council is a great attempt. The whole reason I'm saying this at all is for one point: Let's not bog it down with drama and litigation right now! We have a very good leader in Kilala who I think is very capable at what she does, and is one of few members in a very long time to actually take the initiative to make TFF better. I like the idea of having a large number of members, and if Kilala decides against it later that's fine too! Let's not kill the magic before she even gets back, haha.

Fate? Shadow? Perhaps we should move onto the next thing. I think it was adoption? I can't even remember. Maybe we should also try to summarize what we've done with previous topics as we go so we don't have to keep referring to 20 different posts.

I think it would be nice if we could have an automatic PM sent to people who join about adoption. Then we could have the threads in the TFF Family forum.

Also why exactly did the adoptions stop? I thought that it was a pretty cool idea when I joined, but I never really understood why it stoped. Then we could get rid of the problems that the old adoptions had right from the start.

Well, we already came up with the idea to contact Fuzz to include the Adoption in the automatic PM.

And as far as why it stopped, because people stopped caring enough, I guess. The adopters/tees became inactive after a while, I assume?

We just need constant, active participants to keep it going, otherwise it will just die again.

But Laura has to approve of this before it can happen. Maybe you guys can help me to decide if the number of days need to change to be better? Or if you like the idea at all. Any thoughts or comments on this?

I'd say one chance. Everyone deserves a second chance - not a third chance. Second you give into a third chance you may as well leave the club open.

Like in my lovely Sheena's post, any normal council consists of about 6-10 people - not 20+. Thats were I'd take it, but we have to wait for Kilala to come back to decide.

Personally, to make this 10x's as fast, I'd put up a poll of everyone in the group, and get everyone on TFF to vote for the people they would like to see on the council. Like at schools/colleges, this gets re-viewed every year, and we all get to vote again. Until the council dies, or course.
