Hmm. I find it weird that you haven't fully thought-through your tattoo before putting pen to paper... err, needle to skin.
It's okay, but it's not my tattoo. I don't think I'd get any kind of fantasy animal or whatever. Also, is it missing an arm?
Not a very good picture, but you get the point. Its still in stage 1. Needs shading and im not sure what else. To incorperate it fully im going to have to have the other parts worked on again to make it flow.
I'm not sure if I want colour or not. Im leaning toward just black and grey.

Should clarify. By other parts I meant the other part of my chestpiece that was done at a far earlier stage. I knew what I wanted to begin with and saw it on paper of course. And yes, it is missing an arm or the arm is out of view.
Deadly, it will definitely look the part when its finished,
...and I would go for some colour, but nothing too vibrant
The word is "color," actually.
Anyway, the tattoo looks pretty darn cool as it is. I don't think it needs coloring. Coloring is for pussies with coloring books. It will look fine with just shading.
Have you named the dragon yet, Rowan? I don't really care if you have. I'm naming it anyway, and if you don't like it, then I will shoot you. Benny the Dragon. There. It's a very intimidating name. If you don't like it, go **** yourself.
No you're wrong, infact the word is colour, your country changed it to color, likely to do with the fact that the majority of you country are retards and felt it difficult to spell in the usual trend.
Colour
Honour
Are the words that spring to mind, likely a whole lot more exist..
Death and Rebirth would refer to a Phoenix, would it not? A dragon kind of seems a little out of place under words like that. Just an opinion.
Black and grey would be rather cool, but adding some colour would make it pop. The question is, do you want it to pop? How much? Does Black and grey make it too boring?

Im not one to forcefully attach meanings to tattoos because in essence, I find it reduntant. You want a tattoo because it looks wicked and you appreciate art, not because it has some sort of special meaning. Its about aesthetics. Thats also just my honest opinion. I truly believe that people will look for any reason or excuse to get a tattoo other than accepting that they just genuinly want one. If you're asking me though then I guess because the weak dead swallow died and was reborn into a terrorfying powerful dragon?
I have a phoenix half sleeve on my right arm anyway.
as for colour, Ive decided not too. I'll just stick to black and grey shading until I consult with my artist.

Ah, perfect compensation. More pictures soon?
That's also a good decision to make on the colour. Can't wait to see it.

I just thought of something really cool you could add to that tattoo to make it even more bad ass. What if the dragon was in a baby stroller? That would be awesome, and unique.
Wrong. My country changed the spelling of the word because it was misspelled to begin with. They corrected it, just like how I'm correcting you now.
Oh, and the word is "honor," not "honour." Learn how to spell.
At this point we had just finished it. Still bleeding a bit. But the final touches will make it complete. Getting some greywash clouds as a background to make it all flow.
It matches your nipples.
Curious?

^that's something you thought you'd never say?
The colour certainly improves it.
EDIT: This is my 1234th post.
Shading was a must-have. Looks great now. Something to tie it in altogether definitely isn't a bad idea, but make sure it doesn't remove from the focal point - your dragon and your script!

Yeah. That definitely looks a lot better with the shading.
Looks like s***.
Just kidding, looks great! I think the dragon is cute haha.
And realise, favourite.
^This is badass
Looks good Rowan I do agree with R.Kyra though I would have expected a Phoenix with a idiom like that but hey like you said it can symbolise what ever the wearer desires.
I love the detail of the dragon, the skeletal body.

People need to learn how to spell. Anyway, Mr. Rowan, your tat looks a lot better with shading, though it looked good even without it. I praise your tattoo artist. I also hope your tattoo artist knows how to properly write in English, unlike people from England.
Not really my type of tattoo to be honest though I must say it looks pretty darn good. If I may ask, does it have any deeper meaning to you personally or is it just a cool looking dragoon you happen to like?

As i've mentioned before, meaning isn't a pre-requisitve for me for a few reasons. One being that meaning can be attached to anything like a lid to a pen. I've always adored dragons, in particular the bone variety. They seem more badass. Although I wouldn't allow myself to be a walking complex of random images. The dragon is more-so a means to an end for my chest piece which has been needed to be finished for quite some time now. My next big piece will be a sleeve. Havnt truly decided what to get as of yet, although what I'm thinking currently would be more-so because of what is already on my arm.
I have this phoenix on my arm, which has a meaning, but I dont like the tattoo (now you know where im coming from). So what I plan to do is have a similar japanese style sleeve to make it blend in and become not so noticable. This cant be done for a long time though because my job situation is sort of hanging in the balance currently and im not out to worry my parents about my future opportunities by spending a lot of money and covering myself in more visable tattoos.
ouchy. looks like it must have hurt. just a tad.
looks great tho kudos ^^
