Should clarify. By other parts I meant the other part of my chestpiece that was done at a far earlier stage. I knew what I wanted to begin with and saw it on paper of course. And yes, it is missing an arm or the arm is out of view.

Shading was a must-have. Looks great now. Something to tie it in altogether definitely isn't a bad idea, but make sure it doesn't remove from the focal point - your dragon and your script!

Looks good Rowan I do agree with R.Kyra though I would have expected a Phoenix with a idiom like that but hey like you said it can symbolise what ever the wearer desires.
