Yeah, it's a sad feeling when I'm not the one pumping gas or doing routine maintenance. It also pisses me off that cars are so reliant on computers for everything now. I replaced my battery yesterday because it was corroded and mostly useless. In doing that, it fucked with the computer parameters for the alternator (which charges the battery). A simple routine thing turned into my car shutting off at literally every stop sign and red light, because I accidentally tripped the computer.

It worked out in the end, because I needed an oil change and my air conditioner recharged, so I killed like 5 birds with one, really expensive stone. I also bought front and rear wiper blades and a thing of gas treatment to keep my baby running surprisingly like new.

Fun story, I got to rent a 2013 Camaro fo free after I got rear ended back in 2012. My car had to go into the shop for some body work, and my insurance agent was just an amazing person.

I got to the car rental place after finishing up with the body shop, saw the Camaro in the lot and asked if it was available to rent. The rental people said yes, but for an extra $50 over my covered limit. My insurance rep turned to me and said "fuck it, you've been dealing with bullshit all day and you've been so pleasant to work with. We're gonna give you this one on us."

That car was like the batmobile. If you even thought about touching the gas, it would purr and speed up. You could actually feel the seat almost cradling your ass and pushing it forward.

My only complaint is that it was too low to the ground. I much prefer my trucks and suvs, where I feel like I can see way more of the road
