It's not really the gift of giving to homeless people; it's the principle. The idea that you could just get in a car and roam around for a day and see things and people. That does not happen here. Cars are too expensive, the weather is pish, and nobody I know wants to do things like that. To confirm a stereotype, we are a lot more rigid.
