Very true. But I never said that owning a firearm was more dangerous than those SUV's that have disastrous consequences when they hit a pedestrian. (Although relatively speaking they are, it's just that there are much more car accidents out there than we can count.)

Don't get me wrong, I don't think the posession of firearms should be forbidden or anything. At least not as long as a great amount of people (especially in the US) want to own one or two, cause that's called democracy. But I personally wouldn't mind heavy restrictions on them like over here in Europe.

But that's just me.

I saw a documentary saying that people with firearms in their homes are 43 times more likely to (obviously, accidentally) shoot a member of their household than a criminal. Although you could also see it like "the stupid firearm owners outnumber the safe/smart ones by 43/1", and you just might be that 1, hehe.
