I was in the party switch menu, and I'm guessing you're able to give descriptions on what the buttons do? Cause other wise I get a bunch of []s. And you can switch characters without needing to take them out and re-arrange them. Use A. (Although, you probably knew this.) Also, are you implementing the Q and W in any way but in menus? I know they're L and R, basically. (I'm gonna go ahead and assume you can't change the control scheme.)

And no, I'm not gonna ask for Overlimit mini-games. (But that would be badass... 8()

Like... as soon as you enter townz? That'd be awkward... I can have them appear mid-way through a dungeon, and they join you, there. For example, the assault on Utopia in Episode 4 introduces Ladon as a guest halfway through the battle. (He shows up with bombs and other triumphant stuff.)

I was thinking the Elders at Orderos would hand over Julius when we went to go stop Dimitri from ressurecting Shira, but maybe he could appear somewhere else. (BTW, we're still going with Julius? Just checking.)

Can you change the critical hit formula? It's nice that its frequent, but it's like... 10% stronger... I think triple damage but 5% is more rewarding.
Also, I'm doing a small tutorial segment with Nova. He just tells you what the buttons are, really basic. After spamming all the buttons and figuring out what they do... hopefully, the player would like to know that, too. (Of course, they'll need to know that Z is confirm in the first place...)

I had another idea where Alther and Krystal are rivals. Maybe they're assassins, but Krystal helps out the rebellion in Episode 4, so who knows where her allegance lies. Alther's a bit of a toughie, too, because I have to involve Natasha, somehow. I'm ashamed to admit it now, but I originally thought of him seeking out the god of rebirth to ressurect her. Sound familiar? >_<

Manuscripts? You mean the plot? It's on its, way. I'm almost done with Episode 2. I was originally describing NPCs, shops and other such nonsense, but its taking way too long. So, instead, I'm gonna give you a basic idea of how townz look, and you create them... yeah. The plot's being described, but that's it.

Small update. I didn't realize this. Take away Virus and Infection for Krystal. Alther gets:
Confuse: Throw off one enemy's sense of friend and foe.
Hysteria: Throw off all enemies' sense of friend and foe.

Also, should these debuffs deal damage as well?

Also, also, also, replace Meigumi's Reverbation with Traction. (I mistakenly forgot Krystal used Reverbation as Silence All.) Also, replace Nova's Storm with Turbulence. There's a Storm something in the document I also forgot about. >_<

And I decided not to make the Soulbind's attacks non-elemental. I think their main attraction is they can exploit elemental weaknesses and deal MASSIVE DAMAGE as a result. So...

Alexander's Eternal Light is now holy-elemental.
I MIGHT make Fatalitas's Reaper's Cruelty dark-elemental.
If you chose Leviathan, Deluge is water-elemental.
Ifrit's Inferi is fire-elemental.
Shiva's Heart of Ice is, well, ice-elemental.
Dahaka's Lord of the Sky is wind-elemental.
Finally, Thor's Mjollnir is thunder-elemental.

That should be everything. Now, tell me if anything's not possible. (Potentially Ralz's C'aro Toss...) I threw out as many ideas as I could onto the table. I think you should make a demo specifically for testing these out. Next, I went to start cutting down on the list. In the process of this, I gave these characters simply too many abilities, thus we should determine what's necessary and what isn't.

I might even replace Odin with Leviathan or something, if we wanna go that far.

No problem, seeing as how we only have three tiers now. The highest thunder spell is Maelstrom, now. Mjollnir can now be used as Thor's attack. I originally had that planned as one of Elyon's attacks, but I can make that Valhalla, instead.

I found out, too. I started playing some other VX games, and I pretty much see everything you're talking about. Could you put the party menu as a selectable option on the party menu instead of being hidden, then? Also, CAN WE HAVE DIAGONAL MOVEMENT? THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME. (I was playing Tales of Fantasy XXVIII, wow that game is presented beautifully.) Oh wait, you can switch members around by just pressing A. Cool.

I had the idea Elyon would always been the one in towns, but on the field, we could switch whoever we wanted. Unless that's not possible.

When it comes to Laevateinn, I'm not sure what to do with him. I had two ideas. One, he's the son of Fidelitas, but spies for the rebellion. My other idea was he's the prince of the castle in Utazien (or whatever I plan to rename it). After a tragedy because of the Empire, he ran off, seeking vengeance and wasn't seen since. And even in that idea, I'm not sure what to do with him. Julius just appears in Orderos, we can assume his kind is nowhere else in the world. And Krystal... Huh... My first thought was she assists Ladon, and then I thought she was some kind of wandering assassin who kills for profit. How she knows Alther is a bit of a trick, though.

Things'll work out, I'm sure. Once you see the script, you're sure to start bawling with laughter. xD

The Movelist is almost done, and I've managed to avoid copyright for nearly everything. Surprisingly, Diamond Dust isn't Final Fantasy exclusive. However... here's the things that are protected.

Zantetsuken is a mystery to me. I came across several articles about Japanese origin, but I didn't look too deeply into it. If I have Odin use this, will it be too much like the FF one?

We COULD use Bahamut, but he'd have to be a fish, and I'm guessing you don't want that.

I could replace Tonberry with a reaper guy or something. And maybe Thor can replace Ramuh, if you'd like. I've found plenty of ways around copyright... hopefully.

Oh, BTW. Barbariccia was replaced by Alexander, who uses light. I gave him to Elyon, and now Laevateinn has Bahamut. Placeholders... but I think Alexander is relatively safe.

EDIT: On a side note, I went back to the demo and actually beat Gilgamesh! He was pretty tough, I'll admit. Afterwards, I spoke with Nova, and I liked the way the scene went. And of course him joining the party is a plus.

Was the party switch option always there? I have to be in the menu and press Shift to access it. Maybe you could make it accessable outside the menu? As you might've guessed, I put Nova in the party and Ralz in the lead... And back in Utazien is... Ralz? It was odd. I'm guessing that can't be avoided without making an entirely new map without your selected character there? Just wondering.

Anyway, Nova's pretty cool in battle, holding a fireball like that. xD He's got a good moveset and once I finish the list, he'll have a lot more to him.

Yes, those three are the conspirators. The other three are M's more trusted underlings. In particular, Fidelitas is M's personal ally.

In case you're wondering about the whole Jeanne thing for Kariste, Ralz's last name is just Arlea. He doesn't have a middle name. No need to connect the two, anymore.

I've brainstormed, and by that I mean took a quick trip to Google, and came up with the names of M's generals.

Zoku: Japanese for "traitor"
Emeritus: Latin for "veteran"
Proditio: Latin for "betrayal"
Avaritia: Latin for "greed"
Fidelitas: Latin for "loyalty"

For the first five, that's their last names. I need some kind of first names, as well. And Kariste, you know, is just an enemy, now. Might make her a guest, though, at some point. The accurate translations of these is to be questioned; it was Google, after all, but I feel they're pretty close.

I picked a plot point where three of them conspire to overthrow M, but the other three, Kariste included, are loyal to him. I dunno. What do you think?

I see. So, it's basically how I can avoid having weapons with effects that overshadow others. Pretty cool. Gotta see if Flametongue is copyright, first.

I just got inspired when playing it. Probably would accomplish nothing, but the player could really experience power, if they didn't grind stat boosts in the main game.

For right now, I've dropped Kariste as a party member. I just couldn't come up with any other characters. Probably because the characters are fusions of jobs. Elyon's the red mage, Alther's the gunner + saboteur, Meigumi is an archer + chemist + white mage all in one, Ralz is the mystic knight, Nova is the pure black mage, Kariste is the death bringer, Laevateinn is the dragoon, and Julius is the monk-cat-thing.

I've written myself into a corner on that one, so let's just leave it at our original 8.

I'm writing down a list of shop inventory. First I'll need to create all the items that can be purchased. Stat boosts are enemy drops, right?

Show me the list you're making first. And yes, single tasks only!
