Does it have to have a purpose besides fun?

SOLDIER doesn't have a purpose really. It started out as some sort of RP club, and at some point some admin who was in it change it into a private subforum.

The thing is, I was only against it because not everyone could make something like that. Now that everyone can, I don't think I would have a problem with private subforums. It's like social groups with posts that add to post count.

Not only the sound of the bass guitar, but also the feel. I love how you can feel the vibrations coming from the bass, amp, and everything around you. I'm pretty good with keeping rhythm, but I don't know crap about music theory and I can't create my own bass lines. I'm stuck with playing root notes and learning from tabs, which is not bad since you get practice out of that.

I prefer bass lines that are interesting and simple yet complex in the sense that you're just following root notes from the chords the guitarists play. I prefer finger-style and plectrum playing, but I wouldn't mind tapping and slapping into the mix. I'd like to be versatile as a bass guitarist.

I'm currently paying for lessons as well.

Who are yours idols? Do you have a style that you lean towards to? What genre of music do you see yourself playing in?

I started just this year because my friends needed a bass guitarist for their band since they were going to perform at our high school [I'm going to college now] talent show. After that, I fell in love with the instrument. Um, I've been playing for four months. How about you? How did you get into it?

ive tried playing slap a few times but i can't quite get the hang of it just yet.

as far as tabs go, what ive done is looked around online for some songs that i'd like to learn/could possibly learn in the not too distant future , printed them out, and put them into a 3 ring binder. so basically just a binder of songs i'd like to try and learn. iv'e got some tabs saved on one of my external drives i think i could probably dig up. easy songs...'brain stew' and 'sex on fire' were the first 2 songs i learned and they were fairly simple. what sort of music are you in to?

I suppose so. I try not to sound pompous, but it's probably unavoidable.

It all sounds horrible to me. Unemployment is growing, and the government just don't seem to realise that what they're doing benefits no-one.

I don't think many people would mind if Britiain got into a little bit of debt just to ensure the welfare of it's people. Look at how much debt the United States is in.

Oh, I forgot to mention that they raised the threshold for people paying income tax, something that they're probably going to hide behind. Now poor people who are slightly worse off than the poorest also don't need to pay income tax!

That is exactly why I didn't vote Conservative. I was expecting things to be worse, but not Thatcher-worse!

Basically, as far as I understand, David Cameron wants the UK to be free-from-debt. No matter what it takes.

The sad thing is that the people who voted Conservative were mostly middle and upper class anyway, so they won't give a shit. Worse still for me, they're actually considering the re-introduction of tuition fees in Scotland, meaning that we'll basically have nothing over the rest of the world.
