"I don't hate America. I hate the Americans." is something that would, sadly, be true for a lot of people.

I mean, the USA have the best guitars and motorcycles. And their entertainment business is the largest in the world. It's just the cultural differences that get in the way when discussing basic politics or social issues.

I find it very annoying that they seem to be unable to discuss and criticise the US. Or at least most of them.

James (a.k.a. Walter Sobchack, formerly Richard M. Nixon) and Che, for example, are great guys. They are rational and are not afraid to see the truth and criticise anything, regardless of what your relation with it is.

I'm not one to say that Europe is better than the US. It probably is in many ways. But unlike Americans, I don't go yelling that around, winning arguments with just that statement...

They refuse to believe that there is a better way to do things than the American way.

I mean, Europe has been evolving for many-many centuries now. The US is way younger and only really started to fully function when we had our Enlightenment. They had the Wild West, while we were doing other stuff. Although I like the Wild West culture.

It bothers me sometimes why everything is so different in the USA. Why are they so paranoid? Why are they so fond of their precious firearms? Why do they insist on trying to boost their economy by invading countries and killing innocent civilians? Why are they stubborn and can't they see that many things are being handled really well over in Europe or Australia and NZ?

I like how Michael Moore tries to find an answer to some of these questions in Bowling for Columbine, but can't figure out. Europe has known a LOT more war, and wars with civilian casualties.

But maybe that's exactly why they are so paranoid. Because they think stuff like that can happen anytime. Like when the president wants to have socialised healthcare...

The thing is that the USA really is a different world. We assume that it's part of Western society,because of our shared economy, the media, their export of entertainment, the English language etc. But it's really almost as different from Europe as some Asian countries.

Just wondering because I want to learn to speak more languages. I speak a little fillipino (im half) and moderate spanish.

Man, I love how you say what doesn't cross my mind when I'm typing. There's so many arguments in favour of the Obama healthcare, that I can't sum them all up when I'm actually typing a post, cause I don't think of them at the time.

And yeah, I get what you meant earlier about Sasquatch. He has his periods I think. He can be a stubbron ****er, refusing to even consider other people's points, but there are times when I actually enjoy discussing with him. Go figure...

Hm, I live in a small village and there's quite much green to be seen every day, and I don't grow tired of it at all. ^^ Somehow it's even nice to see it every day. When I'm in the city I really miss all the green parts. There are a few trees there, but nothing special, unfortunately. There are even a few parks, but they look unnatural. :/

Wow, that sounds great. My father doesn't play any instruments... I totally got into it because of my mother, but it was also my brother who said that I should try playing bass. ^^

Currently I also play bass for fun. It's quite much fun, but for me, it's more fun to play together with others. ^^ Sadly, I don't play in a band anymore, so I have to find one again. :/ Btw. 6 years is quite much time... when did she start playing bass? :3

Oh ive heard the zepplin version before, its just i listen to so much music that it took me awhile to make the connection. i was listening to salival alot recently and i had my mp3 on shuffle and the zepplin version came on but i thought it was tools version until the vocals kicked in, i was like "thats not maynard"

The Polar Bear? You know it just goes to show you that there's not one thing on this show that's not steeped in mystery. You're right it's impossible to figure anything out. The best thing I've heard on the Polar Bears is that they were brought to the Island to be trained to turn the Frozen Donkey wheel in order to move the island without sending a human being off island. That explain why Charlotte found a dead one in the desert. It sounds like a very reasonable theory, but as you said, who knows.

I read 2 good ones just yesterday. One is that Christian Shephard is an Other, and similarly to Eloise Hawking's relationship to Daniel, had gone off island to raise Jack for the purpose of having him do what he's doing right now. In other words he killed himself on purpose so that Jack could go to Austrailia and thus get to the island. The 2nd one I read was that Ben has actually been in cahoots with Jacob all along in order to fool The Man in Black, and so his whole attitude at the end of Season 5, where he acts like he knows absolutely nothing was purely an act.
