If you really wish to revisit what happened during an interaction you did not directly control, generalize what other people have already done and put in your character's mindset on it. Its hard to explain without detailed examples, but I'm rather sleepy so I'll keep it brief. Don't repeat every last interaction, quote and such. Keep to the personal details. Why did your character do that? Why does your character think like that? Its really interesting when the other person f'ed up your character's actions, so then you can really get into mental issues... on 'why the blue hell did I just do that?', etc. A subtle way to let the person know they screwed up.
