I mostly play online on my PS2 though, since my CPU is at 1Ghz but I'm gonna upgrade it soon. Only reason I haven't is that I need to find out if I need a new mainboard.
Playing online with your console is for women and children.

So what if you can't play World of Warcraft? Play fast paced FPS! I play online games to gain internet respect which means I practice one game solidly for 10 hours a day for a week or two, get bored and reduce practice to 0 - 2 hours a day. I hadn't played a LAN game of UT at my school for such a long time I thought I'd be terrible, but hey, my instagib aim was still pretty good even though it's been a while since I quit UT2k4: must've been over a year ago, almost a year and a half. However, I did play UT once every month or so online for 3 hours each time so maybe that's what kept my aim close to my usual standard. I got 17,000+ kills with the instagib rifle on UT2k4 and 12,000+ deaths and this was during a period of three or four months. That works out to just over 58% efficiency. I would've gotten more had I not played so many normal weapon games, but 1v1 normal weapons is an ability worth improving.

Actually, no Ever heard of Formula 1 for PC?
Afraid not, because it's for PS2 only. Thats mostly what I'm playing online at the moment. Also I need a new CPU so I can play newer games on my PC

Naaaw I have gotten a little weary of FPS games like that, there are more realistic shooters to play now
Also I want my BGII to work properly DAMMIT!!! I never had so many problems with a game before, if it wasn't so great I would never bother to get it "working" that annoys the hell out of me.....

You don't play any strategy games like RTS or anything?

There are plenty of old games that can run on a 1GHz CPU - I'm assuming the other hardware you have is on par with the CPU.

You could easily play CS. I played a lot of that, although I've moved onto CS:Source now, which I doubt your computer would be able to run. I prefer Source over 1.6 despite what lots of people say about dodgy hitboxes online and the variables for earning money, to name a few "problems". I really don't play at a high enough level to care, although if you know the game well enough you could probably consistently abuse the hitbox latency.

I never had any trouble with BGII and I've had it running with a full install on my 233MHz P2, 1300MHz P3 laptop and 2.8GHz P4. The last being what I mainly use now.

I've played a decent number of RTS games in my time: my first being C&C and Red Alert. I remember some great games. I played RA2 online quite a bit and after my exams I think I will practice Starcraft religiously. I'm considering 6 - 10 hours a day. It's a fairly old game but there's so much depth to it, being good at SC would be a nice achievement. There's a Starcraft Club at TFF too, although it's pretty inactive at the moment. If you haven't played the game I thoroughly recommend it.

EDIT: This is my 300th post, which obviously is a milestone, whereas my 299th post is insignificant compared to the 300th. Such milestones can certainly be logically justified.

First of all...... Let me say..... WHO HAVEN'T PLAYED STARCRAFT?
Ofcourse I have that game, it PWNS but I need more practice before playing online, my first RTS was the very first Warcraft game and I have been addicted to RTS ever since, I have played every game in the C&C series be it PC or PSX and my favorite amongst them are Generals playing with the Chinese

It's mostly the CPU thats shit.....

As for the rest of my PC it's quite alright, I'm gonna get me a new CPU at 2,5-2GHZ and double my RAM so I have 1GB. I have a ATI graphics card of some kind (don't know which one) but I think I'm gonna replace it aswell and if I need to change my mainboard for the new CPU I probobly have to.
Oh and CS is ofcourse on my wishlist though its not as high as Everquest 2 wich I doubt my CPU can handle, but if you say I can run it I'm gonna check out the requirements on it.

As for my BGII, BioWare have problems with that game running on ATI graphic cards, I as I said have ATI so it crashes once in a while when I examine items.
Also I couldn't do a full install, that is also a known problem by the company, so I got some useful help while reading FAQ's on their site.
Now there is a full install, but the game asks for disc 4 and strangely enough it wont work when I insert it, so you start to know about some of my problems with the game. It's not my hardware thats the problem it runs great in the highest resolution and everything, its just those "incidents" if I may call it that.

I played BGII ToB now for two three hours and there wasn't any problems, but sometimes it's horrible. Computers hate me

Oh and congrats for your 300th post ^_^

Firstly, I recommend signing up to the TFF Starcraft Club, it's been a bit inactive and the thread is on the second page of this forum. Despite the fact I'm not playing online at the moment, Relm is - you could practice with her, especially since no-one else in the club seems to be playing either. Then once my exams are over we could have some fun games online.

Red Alert is my favourite in the series. I've only played Generals a few times at my friend's house. From what I gathered it wasn't as fun as Red Alert, but that could just be because I played Red Alert when I was fairly young and childhood nostalgia induces a slight bias.

I've had CS running on my 233MHz P2 with 512MB SDRAM and 4MB graphics card. I'll admit: the frame rate was incredibly poor and it took 4 minutes to load the security module when joining a server, but it worked. So I should think with the specs you have CS 1.6 should be fine.

Thanks for the tip, I suspected that the club was full of die-hard Starcraft fans who played lots and would laugh at my skills that is not so good as my RA or AoE skills
I'm gonna do that, but I'm gonna play some more with the Zerg (or Zorg don't remember lol) They have become my favorite race.

Oh and if I may suggest, play Generals. Borrow it or something because it's lots of fun.
Generals and Tiberian Sun are the two C&C games I have played the least and both of them I have litteraly occupied my friends computers to play.
When I played Generals on my mates computer he just said "take care of my dog, I'm going outside" and when he came back like at 1am I was ofcourse still playing so he just went to bed.

But the game is badass I recomend you play it a bit more if you are into C&C maybe you don't like it as much as I do but it's a C&C and you have to play for a while, you know.

OH and I have done something with my computer, I have no idea what, but sometimes I have to reboot because it goes offline and refuses to go back on.
It would be a pain to play for 3 hours and suddenly I loose connection.
I just got this problem a couple of weeks ago and I have found nothing that is helpful, I am certain that it was something I did.....

Haha, that's certainly not true. Everyone in there is a noob. I mean seriously noob. My skills are terrible, especially ZvZ and I can barely handle ZvT past the 10 minute mark. As you can guess, I'm a Zerg player. Really, no-one would laugh at your skills because everyone's at a low standard, although I would say Relm is the best. Apparently, Raine's skill went up after playing quite a bit with some friend of his - I heard this from Lethal Seraphim but I haven't seen for myself. I want to challenge Raine to a best of 5 1v1 for 10,000 TFF Gold sometime in July. Haha.

I did not like Tiberian Sun. I felt the game was a bit slow and the battles were cumbersome. I expected something really good as a follow up to Red Alert and I remember being rather disappointed. Ah, well. Anyway, I'll give Generals another go then.

I don't think I can help you here, sorry.
