I've been watching bits of the Euro with my dad. Ever since Scotland beat France and lost to Georgia (yes, that did happen) I've been supporting Poland. But after seeing Holland whoop the Azuri, I'm rooting for the Dutch and the Polish both. Van Der Sar is my man of the tournament so far.

Haha sorry but I remember the loss to Georgia... you do the double over France then lost to them, I couldn't explain it. Poland have it all to do thanks to Howard Webb who may have got that holding decision completely correct in my opinion, but is still derided for it... but it's possible against a Croatian side who'll probably rest some players for the quarters. Though having said that with the Germans only needing a draw against an Austria side whom are not only playing for national pride but a sense of revenge for a certain event happening roughly 70 years ago (sorry to bring up the war but it happened) I have a feeling they'll find it tough.

Much as it irritates me the Dutch look outstanding and to inflict the heaviest defeat on the French in a major championship since 1958 is testament to their supposed togetherness and team spirit, often found lacking (and has actually been in the build-up) but I'm still having Portugal to win. They fielded a very weakened side against the Swiss and could still have ended up with a draw if Nani and Ricky Quaresma had taken chances. Still not to take away from the Swiss, they were exceptional and gave the hosts something to cheer about now both countries are out.

Croatia are the real dark horses though. If they can avoid injuries to Luka Modric and Nicky Kranjcar they should make the semis at least. Modric has really impressed me with his movement in and around the box, and Niko can keep things ticking over in the middle of the park. But Simunic is still a ticking time-bomb as far as I'm concerned so the defence in general will need to be impressed. Slaven has a well drilled unit and they are becoming a major force in International Football.
