Thread: Nintendo Worshippers

  1. #241
Well, it looks like I'm not the only one interested in joining up.

I grew up with a Nintendo product in my home. We must've had 5-10 regular nintendos (I still have on) and I used to play Star Tropics before school everyday. Until the SNES came out of course, when I switched to Zelda. I still love Nintendo, although I must admit I wasn't super-impressed by the GameCube. Hopefully my Wii will prove to me that Nintendo will be the superpower of gaming again.

I have owned almost every Nintendo system.. actually I still have them all. I have an NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii (on it's way to my house), GameBoy (I have the special red version instead of the grey), GameBoy color, GameBoy Advance, and a DS. I never realised I loved Nintendo as much until now.

The General, How dare you choose Link to the Past!!!j/k, it was my fave of the series too. My aunt who had to be 60+ at the time used to play it, and even give me advice on it.

So, I guess I'll be waiting in line with the above people.

I let the four of you join but as in the past I reserve the right to remove any members that do not post in a period of more than thirty days. (I'm pretty lenient on that but I still want to maintain the understanding that I could do it.) It's not because I don't love new members it's just that the club is far better when we have members that post.

Anyhow let’s welcome Reks, the General, The dark Dragoon, and Yunie lover into our fold. Also if some of the old members have changed names or anything else that I might have missed please tell me and I will fix it.

Also has anyone had the opportunity to play the Wii yet? Mine will not get to me until "sometime before Christmas" as the shop keeper told me. I even already own twilight princess for it but have no console. It's like torture only worse.

First, Thanks for letting me join.

Second, I know what you mean. I already have my Twilight Princess, but my Wii won't arrive for 1-2 weeks. It's always so hard to have a game that you really want to play, but you don't the the means to do so. Worse yet, I don't know anyone around with a Wii. I'm the only one of my friends to get ahold of one and I can't wait.

Although, "Sometime before Christmas" seems like a big gap. You have my pity.

Good Deal, thanx for letting me join, and greetings everyone. I'm an active posters so no worries about me not posting in a month.

Anywayz, have i played Wii yet? No, unfortunately i'm pretty broke right now and have people all over town owing me money (a friend still owes me a cool $500 for bailing him out of jail for one), so with my current money situation i probably won't be buyin one until late winter/spring time. I'm looking all around for another job right now, and i'm thinking at stopping by EB games hoping they mite have a Wii station set up or something.

I'm really dissapointed i haven't played Zelda: TW too! I don't own a gc or a wii but my friend i are long time zelda fans and he has it reserved for his gc and i was going to go over to play the first day he gets it. Seeing that the wii version lauched already i was thinking the gc version was being released too, but it's not out until december! So i'm not gonna b playin that for awhile either.

besides zelda, what other of the launch titles do people really want to play? I'm gonna be pretty pumped to play the new super monkey balls for one..i really love those games.

and a group question, do i need to use a group banner in my sig?

Yay, thanks for lettin me in, I'll get working on a banner sig for myself, if you don't mind, I need some practice with Photoshop anywho, now I just need some inspiration!
Hm, it's kinda disappointing, the whole reason I got got a Gamecube was for the games that were realeased/going to be released, like LoZ: Twilight Princess, but I also got it because, I myself, have been a fan of the Fire Emblem series and got my Gamecube and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance the same day General, I would suggest unless you plan on getting a Wii in the near future, to get a cheap GC from GameStop or something, whatever is closest, no real reason to buy a new one as they've been out so long, but they are pretty cheap now, just a little something to think on if you have some extra cash.
As for new Wii games, I want to play the new SSB game, Wario and Snake, I want to see how they use the controller to, well, control the characters, and I want to see how the new ones run, and I seriously hope Marth and Roy come back for this one ;P another I've been hearing about, but not seeing much on is a Fire Emblem for the Wii, mainly because I Loveeeee Fire Emblem .
I dont think that banners are requirements, but I am going to add one anyways, because I want to play with Photoshop .

*edit* Added siggy, figured I would go with Fire Emblem as a theme.

the wii - omg the wii. who got one? who got one??! i did!!! oooo yeeah!! i've clocked so many countless hours in wii sports already, i'm convinced that just buying a wii and having nothing but wii sports will be enough to entertain you until you can afford the next game. oh and, all of you planing on playing twilight princess on gamecube, here's some advice: don't. trust me - the shaders and lighting effects on the wii elevate the game to a level i've never seen in a zelda game. c'mon - $250 aint that much! mug an old lady, rob a bank, sell your grandma's house, sell your mom's car - do whatever it takes. as nintendo worshippers you all NEED the nintendo wii!

so who else is feeling this crazy elation that's rolled over my soul????

Hm ? I'd really rather not resort to random acts of violence/differing illegality to get a Wii, I'll just sit here and mope around because I don't have one, because, eventually, I will get one, just being patient.
As for you being happy, thats great man, have fun and give us the verdict on some of the other games you get, eh?

Well, I'm not lucky as I have to wait til I get some freakin money -_- (which might be a while yet as I have no source of income coming in) but, when I do get the money flowing, I'll more than likely get one, so, don't worry too much

Anyways, I can't find much but a video and random stuff (maybe because I'm not looking toooo hard) on the Wii Fire Emblem, anyone else got any info on it? *is probaly the only one who likes Fire Emblem*

*Edit* Geez, no new posts huh? Oh well, Happy Turkey Day to all those celebrating it in our little club, and I hope to see some newness sometime soon Oh, and as for all my Clubs, I will lend a my hand in Photoshop to clubbies before anyone else, if anyone wanted anything made

I've seen some stuff on gamespot (since i need to keep upto date on it or i will die of having to wait with no news about it) and it said that the update is bricking their Wii's (for people who don't know what Bricking is its when it kills the console there for the console been nothing but a Brick) , so nintendo have had a problem on their hands

About the Virtual Console , it looks awesome and sounds it from what i've heard but it sounds like one of those things you have to try yourself.

I haven't tried the Virtual console yet, and I'll avoid letting my new Wii become a brick.

I've been playing it as often as I can, and the integration of the two controllers in Twilight Princess is fantastic. I can't stop playing. The game itself is beautiful and very deep.

Oddly enough even Wii Sports is entertaining, I enjoy boxing the most. This sytem suprised me, and I've been a fan of Nintendo for a while. It certainly will put up more of a fight in the new console wars. Definitely more than the Gamecube did.

Y'know, even if I had the money to buy the Wii, I have not seen it anywhere yet. I've seen games for it (I saw all two that Costco was selling today; Tony Hawk and Rayman. The only one I'd be interested in at all would be Rayman.) I did not see the console itself, however.

I'd also like to note something else; Fox's Butt in the upcoming Smash Bros. game. Check it out. The cheeks are all nice and rounded and muscular-looking, and the pants are freakin' tight. I would totally hit that up.

    ...just kidding.....>_> <_<.....or am I?

Hey did anyone read this review in the NY Times?

    http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/20/ar...Ng&oref=slogin

It pretty much states that the PS3 is just not that great. I thought that it was interesting because it really tore the thing apart.

Which is interesting because this news story

    http://today.reuters.com/news/articl...GAMING-WII.xml

States that "Nintendo has an opportunity to reclaim the market share lead (with the Wii)," I thought that these stories (and the many others like them that are coming out) were interesting. What do you think could the Wii help reclaim some of the video game market for nintendo?

If anyone noticed, i tried my hand at making a banner. I wanted to try something original, and being oldschool i went with the dr mario title screen. Kind of bootleg looking..but eh i like it still. The only thing that doesn't look right is the font because the original font is really bubbly, i just couldnt find one that matched right and when i tried to add the white marks to this font it looked really bad. I'm gonna try to make some more with the same old school 2D idea in the future, this is just the start.

@Taco, damn that is sexy! His gluteus sure is maximus. What a stud Fox..what a stud.

Yeah, i've been readin a lot like that as well. Just about every online gaming site has stated how the PS3 launch was awful, and that the xbox360 is doing a lot better now, and the Wii had a great launch. So basically..the PS3 could be in big trouble . GOOO WII!

I think the Wii has it made. I mean it's gonna have all the great first party titles that set it apart from the rest, lots of exclusive titles because of its innovative gameplay, plus even if it didnt have all of the stuff above, i would buy the system simply for the virtual console!! I mean with that much going on, who wouldnt want to buy it at that cheap? It sounds like it's going to have a lot more than third party support than the gamecube and even more so the nintendo 64 did, which will definitely help it. I played the PS and PS2 because of it's rpgs, but it sounds like the wii is going to have its fair share with all the virtual console games, fire emblem, camelot's rpgs, matsuno's (ex square guy, ogre battle, tactics ogre, ff tactics, vagrant story, ff xii), also konami, koei, and squareenix are onboard for making rpgs for the system. Who needs FF XIII when you got that much going on? Honestly i would rather play Sakaguchi's rpgs for the xbox 360 and all the old school and new rpgs on the Wii then FF XIII.

I'm kinda sad i havent been able to play it yet..everyone is talking about and i'm still waiting. Has anyone tried the virtual console like DarkDragoon asked? That's probably the biggest thing drawing me to the system, i'm gonna have a lot of old games when i finally get mine which should be within a few months hopefully. How much do those games cost anywayz?

your banner is sexy i like it!

Good to hear that Sony PS3 has crashed and burned (hopefully it will burn)

I've got a quality idea for Konami to make a game for the Wii which would be MGS where as you play as ninja with the blade i reckon it would be fun and put a different aspect on MGS

Thanx, i'm glad you like it.

Haha, that'd be hilarious if the PS3 did crash and burn. I wouldnt mind if it did at all. All the crazed PS3 fans would finally have a reality check and i'd laugh in their face. . You never know what will happen though.

That would be an amazing idea! That'd be ridiculous..going around in stealth mode cutting guys to pieces! That'd be great if Konami did something like that..hell why wouldnt they want to? It'd be like Red Steel but much better and faster (don't know first hand if red steel is good i've just read a lot of bad things about it)

For rpg gamers i dug up this that talks about Matsuno and his work on the Wii
    http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3153639

    http://cube.ign.com/articles/588/588764p1.html
I'd be pumped if Camelot made a new golden sun title for the wii or even 3D remakes.

seems like the future of rpg gaming might not be on the PS3 afterall.

Can I join this club? I have played the nintendo, N64, gameboy, gamecube, but not wii yet. I had a theory that when I heard about the wii's controler thing, the zelda game would be where you swing the controler like a sword. I was right. I have played the ocerina of time, link's awakening, rented majura's mask, mario 64, and many, many more. Is it okay if I have a playstation too? or do you people absolutely WORSHIP Nintendo. I just want to know in case I bring up the game systems I have and stuff. *squints* "don't hurt me!* so, can I join?

You don't have to only like Nintendo to join this club (I myself own a playstation) you just have to really like them a lot and understand that all things Nintendo are very great. So anyhow Like I tell others that join just be sure to keep posting because I reserve the right to remove your name from the members list if you don't post in a months time. But other than that consider yourself in.

I would also like to say that I am quite impressed with the Generals signature! I think that it is the best Dr. Mario sig I have ever seen. Perhaps this club needs to have some type of Signature contest? Like everyone that is interested creates a signature and then as a club we vote on the coolest one and I will buy the winner a prize from the TFF store? What do you think?

Haha, I lack the creative talent to be a real contestant in that, but it sounds good max. I'll create a new sig banner when the contest goes underway, just say the word .

Anyways, Yeah, I was really looking forward to the virtual console most of all, because, not only will you get to play old skool (ALL FCKIN HAIL THE OLDSKOOL!) but I also heard that Indie developers were going to be allowed to post games on there. I don't know all the details, but I'll get a link where I saw it, when I find it again, haha, I think it is somewhere in the Wii site itself...

    @ General
Kudos for that kickin banner, lovin the NES look Maybe I should try something like that later, I have worked with Fire Emblem, but haven't gone and edited much of anything else

Thanx for likin the banners everyone, i feel like it lacks the flash of most banners i see around. Pretty simple in comparison, but i definitely like it. I'm thinking of making a super mario bros one and possibly metroid. I think it'd be a cool idea to have a sig contest, it seems like we have a lot of good sig makers in here looking at all the different nintendo worshippers banners. I'm a pretty big n00b when it comes to making them but hell i'd give it a try.

That sounds cool..how can the ps3 possibly compete with wii games, gamecube games, nintendo 64 games, snes, nes, genesis, turbografx16, genesis, (maybe saturn and dreamcast) all of that PLUS new indie games? I mean this thing has it all! That'll be interesting to see what kind of new games are developed. oh yeah and ALL HAIL THE OLDSKOOL!

Yeah, The General, Yasumi Matsuno has helped create fun games. Here is more info on him from the same site as one of your links. For sure I look forward to his work on the Wii. If it is for it.
Yeah i think its safe to say that he has never created a bad game! Two of the 6 games that famitsu has given a perfect 40/40 score are his games (Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy XII) Nice link btw. I look at it this way..Sakaguchi was my man when he was at Square, when he left my favorite game creator was Matsuno who now left as well. I think that's a huge slap to square and sony as well, because both are developing for different consoles. I feel like square may have the final fantasy trademark, but the real talent is elsewhere. More and more people are leaving that company.

The Virtual Console (Channel(s)) is definitely a great addition or redone works really, for Nintendo and all gamers everywhere. The Wii Points system is what will/is being used to purchase games for it. Available as a prepaid card and possibly other sources. I’m really looking forward to try out SNES games I never got a chance to play or complete. Such as Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars!
Oh man Super Mario RPG is one of my favorite games of all time. It's so fun, i mean who would ever think you'd be fighting with Mario Princess AND bowser in the same party? I wish they would make a true sequel to this game..i know paper mario and its sequels are supposed to be but its just not the same to me. Get squareenix back to develop it (i dont think that would ever happen though)

I don't really understand the Wii points system or anything but i'm gonna have to look into it. I'm just hoping they aren't as expensive as real games.

About NP, i havent had a subscription in years because i don't own a gamecube or a recent nintendo system in general. Mostly i just do my game surfing online these days. I probably had a subscription for a good 10 or more years, from my early days on the nes/snes to the end of my days on the nintendo 64. I used to have all the old issues but i think they were taking up so much room that my mom through them away awhile back.

Bring on the pic geomancer, i'd be curious to see what your favorite NES game is.

EDIT: I hope i'm not the only one who saw the Colbert's Report holiday threat down. He reports the Wii as the #1 holiday threat because it's so addictive. He then goes on with a short clip of him creating himself and Nancy Pelosi in the boxing game in Wii Sports. Watching him beat the crap out of nancy using the wii controllers was pricless.

Hm, as I said, I would look for the link again, but it is either gone or the main Wii site doesn't have a link to it anymore, oh well, I went to the other Wii site and found this

quoted from: http://wii.nintendo.com/virtualconsole.jsp. Isn't a really big list there, but good games, and the list will be updated, I thinky that the virtual console is the coolest part of the Wii, motion sensing controller is cool, but I think I am more looking forward to playing OldSkool again, especially since my SNES was stolen, and my NES is somewhere unknown, and my 64 crapped out on me, the only real things Nintendo I have right now are my GBA SP and my Gamecube I know where the games for all of those consoles are too -_-;; The only consoles I have hooked up are my lastgen (Gamecube+ PS2Slim) which depresses me even more since I had all of my consoles (oldskool and new) hooked up some time before I moved (SNES, NES, Genesis, N64, PS2) Oh well, [/RANT] I am expecting great games for the virtual console, and I dearly hope I am not disappointed.

Well it sounds like we would have enough individuals that wouled apply that a signature contest would be worth while. So anyone interested in joining please post your interest and we will begin the contest starting in one week on Dec 6th. Then all participants will have a week (end on Dec 13th) to create the best/ most unique sig that they can. Then we will all vote on the best sig. I will also ask some well known TFF members if they will also guest judge the sigs with us.

Sound Okay? If anyone has any disagreements with this idea state those problems before the 6th and we can change the rules. If not lets do this thing.

Awesome, I will mentally prepare myself 'til then got 7 days to prepare mentally, then 7 days to create? Won't be too difficult, nice, I like the idea, I am definitely in max I've already got an idea brewing, but I won't touch my photoshop til the 6th, when is when it starts

*Edit* I had a massive brain surge, Okay, I have an idea, why don't we invite the moderators to take part in judging the winners too? Just an idea, now, I am going to go back to drinking my Vault and eating my apple *chuckles at the irony*

Hey, Max would you mind If I was sig judge, I would ask to join, but I'm no artist unfortinately, even my stick figures are laughable.

I'm feeling jealous that most of you have got your Wiis already I still have to wait another week

Anyway as most people I'm sure the first game I'm buying on the Wii is Zelda. Then my most anicipated games are Spore and Smash bros melee.

And this explains why the Wii will totally kick Sony's Bluray @$$.

Unfortunately i can't see that link.

Anywho, sounds good about the banner contest. I too have one or two ideas im messing around with right now, you might even see two banners come Dec. 13, who knows. Probably won't be as cool and flashy as some, but i've got a few creative ideas i think people will like so let the games begin! (Who all is making sigs anywayz? I guess i dont know any of the other sig makers in here)

I'm with you on the Wii thing setzer, i have yet to play one either. Has anyone heard about this cooking game? It's funny games like this that i enjoy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooking_Mama:_Cook_Off.

Apparently there was a title for the DS as well?

I'm really looking forward to the new DK Bongo game though, that should be a blast.
