Whats Your Reaction When You Walk Through A Cobweb?

I know many people who freak out when they touch one, or who just flail trying to get it off... Me I'm personally the kind of person who walks through and is like "hmm... cobweb" *brushes gently off"... What about you??

If anybody saw Mr. Clint Eastwood walk though a cobweb, they wouldn't live to tell about it. You see, cobwebs are the greatest threat to humanity. They build up, and they build up, and they're hard to spot, so they just keep building up, and you just keep passing by it, every single day, blissfully unaware of what dangers await. Then the cobweb makes its way to a power outlet. You don't notice the cobweb when you go to plug something in, so you blindly push it into the outlet with the plug of your electronic device, and the next thing you know... BOOM!! There's a tiny little spark. Maybe you get a small electric shock. Perhaps a small electric fire begins. And you just ruined the plug to your electronic device and an outlet. That's going to cost some money right there. So what do I do if I see a cobweb, you ask? Well, to avoid a disaster like the one I described, I get rid of it. And anybody who watches me get rid of it gets a bullet in the chest, courteous of Brian Dennehy... I mean Clint Eastwood.

Not to mention that, depending on the type of web, you'd have a material that has a better tensile strength than metal wire, and I'm pretty sure close to nylon, as well as an excellent adhesive, all in one.

So, if completely bored, I'd make a thread out of cobweb. If I don't burn it first or just swish it off. Spider be damned (and hey, I don't have anything against against spiders...)

In my line of work as well as my previous line of work you tend to get a few hundred webs here and there and you tend to just get the hell over it you wipe em away or try to preserve them because some can be quite spectacular especially in the morning and it is amazing when you get rid of one the spider has another one up the next day. Personally i love all the different types off web that the different species make it is amazing and as Oskar said they can be quite strong and sticky especially the garden orb weavers silk very very sticky Rocky would have a better chance at getting laid than getting that stuff off and well we know how well rocky's luck is don't we......
Usually i hate any matter on my face in general whether it be web bugs or other crap so i generally get it off pretty quick the spider doesn't worry me it is just the feeling of having stuff on my face i am a bit of a freak haha actually whats worst is when you feel something on you and find out its a spider but yet you have no recollection of ever encountering anything that could have transfered a spider to your body dum dum dum.......or when you find Toby Macguire sitting on your shoulder.

Hey hey hey now, everyone here knows I get more female ass then a donkey stable, no need to bring up my sexual escapades now!! Besides I think I actually may even do the dirty sometime very soon, I'm just waiting for Hayden Panettiere to return my phone calls, which shall be very soon.

If I walked into a cobweb, I'd probably say something like "whee! I'm a homewrecker!!" and then spin around in circles like a tornado as I'm destroying the webs. Luckily for me, there are no poisonous spiders where I live. If there were, I probably wouldn't lip off to the spiders as much. Keyword: as much.

I usually freak out a little or not notice if I'm honest. I tend to avoid spider webs, but you always end up walking into one - especially in my block of flats. There are loads of spiders on the stairs which lead up to my door, and sometimes the buggers decide to build a web from one wall to the other.

Sometimes spiders abseil down from the ceilings too, and you don't notice until you're halfway down the street and you feel it on your skin/see it abseil in front of your eyes. =S

I really didn't know what I would do, so I went on a quest to find a cobweb and touch it to see my reaction to it. I found one on my back porch and touched it. It didn't bother me at all. I guess it matters if your aware of it or not, but I think that I would also just brush it off even if it seemed to come at me from out of nowhere.

I walked into one last night on my way back from the shop, there was nowt I could do about it either, my hands were full of bags and it was raining so I didn't want to put them down

So, I'd have to go with irritation. It drives me mad when they stick to your face and gets in your hair ]:

Well, I'd just try to get it off, they're a nuisance. I hate how they cling to me and they're too small and thin to see, so I grab at my skin to rip it off. I wouldn't kill the spider though, I'd just tell him, "look spider, If you want to make a home that's fine but remember: Location, Location, Location."

Whenever I walk through one... of course some HAS to force it's way in my mouth! Yuck, what a nasty thing! But overall, as long as there is a big nasty spider to compliment it, it's just... well, there.

With spider webs I hope I haven't disrupted the spider, with cobwebs I just brush them off.

The only time I react awkwardly with spiders is if they are dead. I think its the way that they look like a crippled mangle of legs.

I walked into one the other night, (walking home from my next door neighbor's house) I knew that it had been there I just couldn't see it. I walked head long into it and the worst thing about it is having it on your face and when you peel it off you can still feel the nasty little thing, so I must have spent about ten minutes grabbing at a spider web that was no longer there.

I tend to collect them. I actually seek cobwebs out, and collect them all in this large bag I have. See the plan here is that when i finally have enough, I'm going to create the ultimate bullet-proof vest. It's been said that spider web is far better at holding things like that back than kevlar. And if thats even remotely the case, I would be SUCH a badass.

Not to mention spider web vests = Total chick magnet. Srsly, even mentioning it to the chicks around here makes 'em swarm. I need a large stick to beat the b*tches back.

I rather not walk into them because if I do, I will destroy them and thats unfortunate for the spider.

the webs can be very beautyful under right lighting and conditions. especially when the web is filled with raindrops, and the morning sun make it shine That creates a wonderful sight

if I am unlucky walking into one, I just brush it off, look for spiders and keep going. I`m not afraid of spiders so they dont bother me.

If I walk through a cobweb, which I have, I usually just shake it off myself and continue on. Spiders and such don't bother me so much.

  27. #27
I'm the kind of wuss that freaks out when something touches me. Last time a cobweb got stuck to my leg (I was wearing shorts), I spazzed out in the corner of the classroom and flailed wildly. I'm always afraid that the spider that made the web was attached to the web that stuck to me, so I flail first, check later. It's funny to watch, so I hear.

It totally depends on the size of the spider. If we're talking about something from like Resident Evil, then I'm gonna assume I'm ****ed, and I might just crap myself.

Other than that, I don't really care. I've walked into much worse than spider webs, so I usually either don't even notice or I'll just brush it off, say if it's in my face or hindering me.

Yeah, I wouldn't be too fussed unless I managed to walk into it such that it went into my mouth. I wouldn't freak at that point, but I probably would obsessive compulsively rinse my mouth out a million times to ensure Mr. (or Mrs.... political correctness applies to arachnids too) Spider or any of the flies he's caught weren't in my mouth.

Instinctively I would grab it. As I would anything that suddenly touched me all light and feathery like LOL. :-) After seeing the cobweb in my hand I would probably just sweep the rest off me and go about my day. Maybe stick my tongue out in annoyance.
