I love the holiday season! The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I get out of school early, and then get two days off. Thanksgiving day is going to be spent at my aunt's house like almost every year before. My mom always comes early to help my aunt and uncle with the preparations, even though she brings things that she's already made too.

While those three are making a big fuss in the kitchen, my brother and I play monopoly or chess until he gets tired of it and makes me watch the parade. My guess is there won't be any people other than the five of us this year, but oh well.

Then, around noon, we eat. I get everything made out of potatoes, and everyone else gets that other stuff that people eat on Thanksgiving. We continue feasting for about an hour or two since the eating is always interrupted by talking, then go and hang out in the living room to watch football or the parade together. That's really all we do on Thursday. Nothing interesting, but it's all fun.

The next day, everyone holes themselves up in their houses. My mom will call my aunts (the ones in Canada too), and talk for hours and my brother and I will do nothing since we'll be too scared to go to any stores. Black Friday is THE scariest day for the two of us. We hate shopping, crazy sales that bring in all the crazy shoppers, waking up early, waiting in lines, and we especially hate crazy shoppers. So we stay home, sleep, and eat leftovers.

Then we do nothing else for the rest of the weekend but normal family stuff.
