So after an hour and a half in the shop

I came out with my new pair of work boots and socks to boot, pardon the pun.

When it comes to work boots and sunglasses I am real fussy about what I purchase mainly because I need boots that are made for walking and that's the majority of what I do at work. So for something I spend 8 hours a day, five days a week, 48 weeks of the year in, I need them to be comfortable and reliable and hard wearing. I will walk 500 miles and I need them to last and then I would like to walk 500 more and for them to still be in good condition.

I seem to be a bit sensitive to the sunlight so I wear sunglasses a lot so they also need to be chosen with care, they need to fit snugly on my nose so they don't fall when I work because I am a bit of a working class man but they can't be too tight around my head or I will get a headache.

Anyway my question is are you this fussy when purchasing items, clothes, perishables etc?

    What and why?

Honestly, the only thing I care about is that the fly works on my jeans. I have too many ****ing pairs of jeans with broken flies. If it's a pair I don't really care about, then I just don't wear them and they drift to the back of the wardrobe. If it's a pair I like/are new, then I will get McGuiver on their hiney and use a rubber band wound around the button thing, and then looped through the eye of the zip handle thing... or one of those metal twist tie things you get in the produce section of the supermarché--loop it around and twist the **** out of it. Makes your zips non-functional, but this is still superior to perennially-open flies.

As far as clothes goes, I only care that it looks good on me and I'm not really all that picky. I usually know in advance what I'm about to purchase. Anything above 15 minutes spent on shopping is unimaginable to me.

Come to think of it, I'm only really fussy when I'm about to chose place to eat =D

Thats because your johnstone is too damn big.

I'm fussy about clothes that have a lot of text. I like PLAIN clothes and fitted clothes. I dislike things that are too wide and too short so that my broken zip is exposed. Im fussy about color also. I will rarely wear anything thats not black, white, grey or blue. Jackets need to be fitted and stylish or they have to be practical. By practical I mean that the jacket might not look flash, but its REALLY REALLY WARM for those cold days. I have a sheeps wool jacket im wearing now thats a perfect example. Comfort is definitely more important than style, but sometimes its hard to be comfortable if you're not stylish. Its all about balance.
