I'd like to note that I didn't villainize you, and agreed with your points. And there are three or four far more active Final Fantasy communities; of this, I am aware. The point I was making before is that it's difficult to retain NEW activity when there isn't any OLD activity. I never denied that this place is slow, but it's not dead.
We get surges every time we get the sponsored boost from Square Enix with contests and articles and such, but that lasts for a couple weeks and then peters out because the existing community is averaging 26 years old and 1.2 children each. Those of us who have stayed are not on the internet as much as we used to be. It's not that we don't love this place any more, we just don't live here.
I would LOVE to have this place up and running like it was a few years ago, but like I said at the VERY BEGINNING before the insults and trolling and counter-trolling (all of which I've opted to ignore until now), activity begets activity. You're right that "it is what it is" ISN'T a proper response to FIX the issue, but to assume I don't care is belligerent and ignorant.
