Well, as an Admin, it's mandate to actively work towards fixing that or making the tough call of throwing the towel in, not sit around saying, "it is what it is."

By doing nothing, collectively, you've allowed this community to suffocate and die.

This, won't juat solve itself Colt... Any site needs an active staff to stimulate and direct it's growth.

I found a sticky from a contest 2 years old... Looks like it was the last of that event too...

We could concoct excuses as to why things are how they are for the next two years, or face reality. Somewhere, somehow, the give-a-shit was misplaced. Events stopped, contests stopped, community projects stopped, creative writing stopped... Pruning irrelevant threads stopped...

There are thousands of message boards THRIVING with users of all ages, so I'd have to say there's much more to this tragic tale than complete and strictly user fault, as you seem to be suggesting.

Final Fantasy as a series isn't really what it used to be. Most of people who liked and experienced the older titles have grown up moved on with their lives, occasionally coming back just to chill here. Younger people don't really know them and don't find the newer FFXIII titles all that appealing.

It may not be how it used to be, but it's still a place.

It feels kinda exclusive again, like how it did a long time ago, before things really took off, around 2002 or so. Those were the days, but these can be days too!

Maybe this place will see a boost in activity again. Stranger things have happened.

And yeah, Odin, the Final Fantasy games have changed, but they could always change back. And there are always the classics. And always new people to play the old things. Just the other day, I saw the original Dracula for the first time, and I think that movie is like from the 1920s or so.

Let's also not forget that FF games take a very long time (compared to other games) to make and they have shifted course from their usual, more classic, turn based rpg style so don't expect the audience to always be as big as other games.

Actually some Zelda sites did go ape shit over the weekend. My roommate who runs a Zelda site and a general gaming website had about 100k+ visitors a day on his site for that announcement alone and he's getting more and more visitors and members daily because of it. He makes a living off these 2 sites.

The crazy thing I thought was, his general gaming site got more visitors than the Zelda site.
