OMG!!! I saw Stephen King today!

Not really, but it would have been awesome if it actually WAS him! There was this guy at the restaurant where I work, and I swear that he could have been Stephen King's twin or something! I told my coworkers and they all agreed that the resemblance was definately there (so I'm not crazy! Yay!).

Anyway, to turn this into a topic: Have you ever seen someone that you thought looked like a famous person? Have you ever been told that YOU looked like a famous person? Have you ever MET a famous person?

I've been told that I looked like a few celebrities (not that I really see it myself though...). A couple that come to my mind is Sandra Bullock or Sara Paxton (she was an actress in the newer version of the movie "The Last House on the Left"). Oh, another one I get sometimes is Jessica Lange (when she was younger).

I've never met anyone famous, but there was one time that a country singer (can't recall his name...) came to eat at the restaurant that I work at. Just my luck, I was off that day, and nobody bothered to call and tell me. I had to hear about it all the next day.

I met Dave Caradine at my work years ago (obviously har har) He was just coming in for booze. I said hi...like I say to all customers when they come in. We actually thought he was a a faux Caradine until he gave his credit card that said his name. And we heard around town how they were filming a movie one town over. Actually come to find out he got thrown out of a popular bar because he's a ****ing prick when he drinks...which I believe. So The Squire booted him and he absolutely loved Jaeger...that's all I can say for him I Guess?

I was in the cooler once and when I came out everyone was making a huge deal Baba Booey just came in from Howard Stern.

    I think that's it really.

I didn't meet persay, but I saw Vic Mignogna and David Hayter when I went to Anime Expo 2008. So I don't really have any interesting stories, except Vic is really cool and David Hayter is too nice. >_>

Oh. I also saw Steve Blum too.

Let's see. Back in the day I was told by pretty much everyone that I looked like Robert Iler (aka AJ Soprano).

Another girl from high school is convinced that in 20 years I'll look like George Clooney. Hell, I'll take it if it's true.

As for meeting celebrities, I've met Rupert from Letterman. I also bought a bangin chicken salad sandwich from his deli. I also do have a pic with him SOMEWHERE. I may just have to scour facebook for it.

I've met Wyclef Jean; was with friends walking around in Manhattan, and we saw him with his girl, and we were like "oh shit it's Wyclef!" He laughed and was like "what up, guys" and got into his girl's car.

I also saw Jazzy Jeff at the Modern Warfare 2 launch party in the city. I was about 5 feet away from him, but didn't really care enough to say hey. My friends shook his hand though, haha.

    Baseball-related:
I've also met Bud Harrelson, former Mets coach and manager, and got his autograph. I've also told John Rocker that he sucked, from about 10 feet away, and I taunted David Newhahn in pregame warmups so much that he launched a ball to us, and lightly tossed other balls to other people.

My dad also knew the real life Stax from Goodfellas. He would play pool with my dad and his friends in some bar that hasn't existed in years.

I've actually been looking for an opportunity to tell this story. It was kind of interesting. I opened a truck stop door for Morgan Freeman...and his asshole chauffer. I was kind of stunned and instinctively opened the door for them, because it's a habit. The chauffer glared at me. Morgan nodded his head and said "Thank you." I look back in the establishment and everyone is looking out the doors at him as he gets in a black limo.

That...and I shook hands with John Delancey(Played Q from Star Trek TNG fame) at a Sci-fi convention.

That's it. Besides a few baseball stars...no one too famous, but some nice guys. =/

There was a guy in Yellowstone who looked exactly like Sam Elliott, sounded like him, and acted like some cowboy out of the old west. I'd say "hi," and he'd say "howdy." I don't believe it was actually Sam Elliott, however; why would he work in Yellowstone? Although the guy did work with horses... that could've been draw enough. In any case, he actually supposedly lives somewhere around here, and people have said they've seen him driving around town or seen him at a local dinery. I guess he likes to tell stories.

I have met Reese, Leanor, Sonny, Keith (who actually slept on my floor) and Brad from Five Iron Frenzy (might've met others, but don't recall.) I've met all of the W's, and they all know me to some degree (one of them is my big bro) I've met Mike and Toby from DC Talk, Uri from MxPx, I've met Matt Theisen, Matt Hoops, and one of the other guys at least (who stole my seat on a couch!) of Relient K... all christian bands, so most of you probably wouldn't know who they are anyway. I've also "met" (using the term loosely; kinda said "hi" to both of them) Mike Riley and Dennis Erikson (football coaches at OSU; Erikson is probably more well known.) I yelled at USC Coach Pete Carroll so much at one game that he actually turned around, looked at me, and gave me this weird smirk. I was proud of myself. I think one time when I was at the Fred Meyer in Corvallis, Chad "OchoCinco" Johnson walked up and stood next to me. I didn't say anything; I was like "Holy shit, it's Chad Johnson!" (This was back in 2000, the season he played at OSU.)

I have been told that I look like Elvis Presley. This is mostly by old ladies, because of my sideburns. They have recently been trimmed down a bit. I've also been told I look like the guy who played Goose in Top Gun. *shrug* Anyhoo...

I shook hands with Prince Charles when he visited my school. That was unexpected.

And I met Minty from Eastenders in a shoe shop by my college. The week later, I also saw the guy who plays Darren in GAME. Minty was nice... Darren was too, but he was a little shy because there were too many people in the store asking questions.

EDIT: Oh yeah! Whilst they were filming The Oxford Murders, the crew hired one of the tennis courts in my school playground. Elijah Wood had his own caravan there. I watched him eat a sandwich... and he was topless. 8D

I once told the First Minister of Scotland where the toilets were in the airport's airside. He asked me some crappy questions, smiled to his gathered entourage when I was like, 'Yeah, I'm a student and I work,' and was smart enough to not ask if I voted SNP, because I obviously have more than three brain cells and therefore do not vote for his stupid party.

My dad met Donald Dewar, though. Now HE was cool. That guy got Scotland its own parliament, and we would have let him lead us until the end of time if he hadn't died from a heart attack shortly after establishing the parliament. He is still so sadly missed. He asked my father, 'So, what's it like to be a scaffolder in Glasgow?' and my dad replied, 'Arseholes everywhere, long days...not at all unlike your job, First Minister.' Mr Dewar laughed and said, 'Sounds about right, yeah.' Man, he was so cool.

In my aiport days I also met Ewan McGregor (OMG SO MUCH HOTTER IN REAL LIFE), Billy Connelly, and, um, Susan Boyle. And JLS from the X-Factor. That dancing troupe that won Britain's Got Talent did an impromptu show in the middle of the concourse once. They were nice.

When I was at a Top Gear open track day at Silverstone when i was eight I met Jeremy Clarkson as well as the other presenters from back then. Seeing as I was eight I wasnt a good judge of character but I could still tell he was a prick.

Keeping with motorsports when I was a bit younger than that I was nearly run over by former F1 champ Damon Hill..............on a scooter. Silverstone again.

I met Alfonso Ribera (Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). He comes up here every year for these high speed gokart thingy that my city does. His bodyguards came up to me and asked me if I wanted to meet him. I was hammered (we were at the local club) and said yeah.

He's a pompous jerk. Totally lost any "wow" I had for him after that.

I've seen Kim Mitchell in the mall up here. (Of the "I Am A Wild Party" song fame). He has a cottage a bit north of here.

I don't think I've ever met anyone you guys would know, but I'm connected to sir Winston Churchill through 2 people. My grandfather worked with this minister of state back in the old days, and that minister of state's father had Churchill at his house once. But according to the Six Degrees of Separation, all you fuckers are connected to Churchill, so that doesn't really matter.

I did meet Tom Barman, frontman of dEUS, the best Belgian band. It was at a concert from another band which took place in my home town, like 1 km away from my house. There was a guest performance by Barman on one of the songs, which I enjoyed. But then later at the bar, after the concert, he stood right next to me for pretty much the rest of the time I was there.

I was constantly thinking of stuff I could ask him, like when the knew album would arrive etc. But I basically already knew everything there was to know, and he was being flirted with by two cute girls my age, so I let him be.

Now that I think of it, I should have run home and grabbed all CDs and LPs I have of dEUS to get them signed.

    Meh.

There's a guy who shops at the store I work at who's a dead ringer for Paul Stanley of KISS, sans makeup. It would be much better if he wore the makeup, though.

People tell me that I look like Danny Gokey, some asshole that didn't win American Idol. I don't see it, though. It doesn't help that he's from Milwaukee, so he's like some sort of hometown hero.

As for celebrities I've met: Kerry King (guitarist from Slayer, total asshole), Les Claypool, Gabby La La, and Mike Dillon (met after a Claypool show, all really cool, unfortunately didn't get to meet Skerik), Aaron Barrett and Scott Klopfenstein of Reel Big Fish (after a show), and I got to hang out for a while with the members of Dub Trio after a show. So yeah. People that are only famous to me.
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

My friends have a flat a few houses down from Bret and Jermaine of Flight of the Conchords fame. The thing about New Zealand celebrities is that they are really chill. These guys have pretty much become as famous as New Zealanders can, but still live in a dingy flat and walk to the dairy every morning to buy milk and bread. I saw them walking past one time, and I didn't expect it. I was like 'Holy shit that's Bret and Jermaine!', and my friends were just like, 'Again? They only went down about 2 hours ago.'

Aside from that, I once served Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins fame - i.e my second favourite band - just came through the supermarket. It really made no sense to me, and they weren't on tour in New Zealand, but I was totally surprised and just served him like a normal customer. Needless to say, I totally regretted not asking for an autograph or something.

And I've been told I resemble Jude Law. Which I don't see, at all

I have met a few famous people in my day. Recently there was a Billy Ray Cyrus concert in my hometown which coincendently happens to be his hometown. Well I went to the concert and afterwards I got to go and talk with him. He was a pretty cool laid back kind of guy. I learnt something that suprised me apparently when he was getting started in bars around the Ashland Ky and Huntington WV area my uncle played with him in his band. It's amazing the kind of stuff you learn in a day...

I have also met multiple members of multiple bands. The most interesting was Avenged Sevenfold some bands let success go to there heads and they turn into douches but these guys were pretty cool. They asked if any of us played any instruments and I told em I played bass and they pulled one out and asked me to play a little. I did and they told me I was alright and Johny Christ the bassist even gave me a few pointers.

My family went to vegas one year and of course in Vegas you have to go to a UFC event. Once there we watched the fight and I got to into the locker rooms and talk to some of the fighters. My parents spent quiet a bit to get me into the locker room. I met Forrest Griffin who is possibly the funniest motherf*cker alive. I got to meet my idol at the Chuck Liddell which was the coolest experiance of my life...

To answer the question have I ever seen a celebrity look-a-like the answer is yes. My girlfriends uncle looks like a dead ringer for the lead singer of 12 stones. I didnt notice at first but then I watched the video of 12 stones and amy lee bring me to life, and he looks just like the son of a bitch.

Sitting here waiting for Rocky, and Che to notice me!!

Forgot to mention who I supposedly look like.

People have said I look like:

    James May (from Top Gear)

    Alex Turner (from Arctic Monkeys)

    Tom Barman (from dEUS)

    Hans Teeuwen (Dutch comedian)

They don't look like eachother at all, and that last one is almost an insult.

Personally I think I look more like Malcolm McDowell as Alex Delarge in A Clockwork Orange.

about 2 years back, I was at a bar that had a surprise performance of Motion City Soundtrack. After getting to chill with them after their performance, we went back to my friends' house where we proceeded to get smashed and played intense games of beer pong. It was probably the most random and greatest experience in my life, no lie.

As for who I look like, I've been told by people that I either look like Ian Somerhalder (that one was from Dodie actually lol) or Zac Efron. Not sure what these people are smoking, but oh well.

A few weeks back, I saw someone that kind of looked like Donald Trump. Turns out it was Adam West.

Seriously. But I wasn't paying $40 to talk to him. A friend of mine did and was called old chum.

Re: OMG!!! I saw Stephen King today!

I get told I look like people all the time, famous or not.

I have seen some famu people in my time, one person stands out.

I used to work at a 5-star steak house, and a certin person by the name of Garth Brooks use to venture in on a frequant basis. He would always ask for the same cook, which was me. He never met me though until one night I was at a New Years party up on Ketonville, which was close to where he lived. I was hanging out with this other guy that had played in about 30 studio bands (that is Mr. number 2) when he said someone was going to be there, he would be there but he would look alot different and wouldnt act like I expected him too.

About 20 minutes later this guy walked up asking both of us for a drink, tequila to be exact. We handed off our bottle as he pulled a double bubble and he introduced his self as "Rusty".

I knew it was him because of the location and how close we where to his house plus the hint. by the end of the night we had talked alot and he was pleased that I wasnt all star struck. They had a little band area set up and he sang alot of different stuff, it was sooo obvious it was him but no one knew.

As for the stupid moment of this post, the girl I was dating had no clue who he was and asked him to play a Brooks and Dun (SP?) song. When I told her, while we where leaving in the car, she still didn't believe me and felt stupid after she put 2 and 2 together.

Re: OMG!!! I saw Stephen King today!

My friend worked at some bowling alley, so if there was some show or something, I could go set up there and get free tickets. My friend was like "yo you need to come down and set up this guys stuff", so I did. Turns out it was Slim Thug. He was really quiet, but he was nice and chill, thanked me for helping set his stuff up.

I've been told I'm a mix of Lauren Ambrose and Ellen Paige. I've also gotten Alyson Hannigan. I can kinda sorta see the resemblance. Kinda sorta.

Famous people.... Well, I met Bill Clinton when I was in grade school... And Patricia Clarkson spoke to my performing arts department. And a friend of mine was the double for James McAvoy in Robert Redford's The Conspirator. Just got done filming, so he met all kinds of people. The bastard.
    Curious?

I have met Victor Bray I don't suppose many of you would know him he isn't famous as such but he was an extremely brilliant drag racer, even built his own car from scratch and now his son has taken over racing.

His short history is very interesting, so I will give you a link to a short bio on him if you are interested.

    Victor Bray

Anywho I was up at Kingscliffe I think it was and we went to a local restaurant and we walked past him to get to our table and my stepfather who mind you is a big racing fan recognized him so we went over and said hi and he was quite happy to talk to us he was a friendly typical aussie bloke.

Re: OMG!!! I saw Stephen King today!

When i was a baby my mom was walking around Elgin, Tx and she ran in to Cloris Leachman who was filming a movie called "In Broad Daylight" as i was told Cloris thought i was adorbale and asked my mom if she could adopt me, but she said no! later on when my mom told me this story, i said What and you didn't let her (my mom was pissed)

Also when i was about 4 or 5 i was at an old academy in Austin, Tx right off I-35, and i was their getting a pair of nikes with my grandparents. They told me i meet Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson a formor Dallas cowboy player. I was picking out some shoes and he walked around the corner and my grandmother said i just stopped and stared straight up at him. (i was an ant compared to him) Anywho, she said he came up to me and sat down next to me and took my nike shoe box and signed it for me and wrote a paragraph, which i cannot remember what it said, becasue it is not in my possession anymore, but out off all the people around him he just sat their and talked to me. I do have a vague memory of it but that was a long time ago!

Re: OMG!!! I saw Stephen King today!

Have you ever seen someone that you thought looked like a famous person?
I've seen the odd person who i've had to look at twice because I think I recognise them, but I can't really put a name on them. I would never do the whole running up to someone screaming act if I saw a musician I liked... I really don't understand why people do that...

Have you ever been told that YOU looked like a famous person?
I've been told I look like Nelly Furtado, which I don't believe. I'm not fond of her music either which doesn't help.

Have you ever MET a famous person?
I met a couple of Sports people when I was at Junior school, but I haven't the foggiest who they are! Theres a couple of photos somewhere... I know nothing about sports.

Howie Take That lives in my hometown. He comes to the family shop for some meat and fish, and my Uncle once asked him for tickets. I've probably seen him around but wouldn't recognise him if I saw him as I really don't care for their music. He came into the Indian restaurant I was at once, and my Grandad said said that he came in and couldn't understand that I have no idea what the guy looks like and that I really don't give a crap!

My friend on the otherhand says that she thinks she talked to Matt Bellamy from Muse (the person came to the horse stables she works at, and she is pretty sure it was him but it did not kick in who it was until later on in the day). Now he'd be someone i'd like to meet!

Re: OMG!!! I saw Stephen King today!

I haven't met many famous people as a civilian -- mainly because I don't care -- but in Iraq, I met Kevin Butler and Jim McMahon from the '85 Bears, Karri Turner from JAG (friggin' drop-dead gorgeous in real life), and some schmuck from the CBS "Early Show". (I mean, really, you've got thousands of Soldiers and Marines on a base in Iraq for the last few months, you send over some weatherman from an early morning news talk show? The football players and smokin' hot actress were good ideas, USO. The other guy wasn't. You could have left him behind and brought over Catherine Bell, too.)

Anyway, it was shortly after I was restricted to staying inside the wire because I couldn't take another hit again. Eggs were too scrambled already, if you know what I mean. But my 1SG knew I was a Bears fan, so when he heard that Kevin Butler and Jim McMahon were going to be at our chow hall, he let me stumble up there. I had lunch sitting directly across from Kevin Butler, got a handshake and a man-hug from Jim McMahon, got a hug and a kiss on the cheek from Karri Turner, and I think just a wave from the Early Show guy*. I also got all of their autographs, but gave them to my father when I got back to the States.

*After trying to find a picture, apparently the Early Show guy is Dave Price. Hellifino.

As far as looking like other people ... I've been told that I look like Joker from Full Metal Jacket, and I've been told I look like Steve from Blue's Clues. Kinda opposite ends of the spectrum, sure, but oh well.
