Do it. You can take them out anyway, and the little hole is mostly unnoticeable enough for people not to see it, or grows back shut sometimes.

Just don't get one of those 'plug' things or 'flesh tunnels' or whatever they're called, which are popular these days. At least with regular piercing or earring you wont be left with a huge hole in your ear lobe you can look through, for the rest of your life. I imagine a lot of people of our generation will regret getting those things in the future.

Ugh. I know someone who has these, and he's up to at least 4cm. I asked him what he'd do if he had a job interview and his response was 'Hook the circle over the top of the lobe'. Fricking ew.

You may want to consider growing your hair a bit more before getting your ear pierced. You don't want to look like Jon Cryer.

If you keep them small and take good care of them, especially in the winter, they will close back up to the size of a regular piercing if not heal altogether.
