Looking at some of the threads in General Chat I noticed I was the last to post in a lot of them for a while does this mean I am a thread killer or is it because I am stubborn and have to have the last say?

What in your opinion would stop you from posting in a thread therefore making the person stopping you from posting a thread killer, beside the usual suspects- bad language, trolling, bad grammar etc etc

HEY, THREAD KILLER! Stop killing threads! And I posted in your thread just to prove you wrong.

Sometimes, I just don't feel like posting, but I tend to read most everything, unless it's a topic I just don't care about (which is rare). MOST times though, I don't have a lot of things to add to the discussion, so I just sit back and let others take the helm of conversation.

I think most people with the exception of a few will post once in a thread then go. We don't have a large amount of active users.

Every time I see this thread title, I think of This!

But If I don't know about the topic, I won't post. Also, if I don't have the time to read all of the posts in a thread, I also won't post.

I also get distracted really easily. If I'm too busy to read a thread, I might just leave it up and forget about it while I continue doing what I'm doing. When I get back to it, I forget what I wanted to say or forget why I even had that page up and close it. Then when I go back to it and read through it I sometimes wonder why I didn't post, or think I posted when I really didn't, and end up not posting because a point has already either been made, or I just can't be assed to remember what I originally wanted to say and leave it. It happens a lot, therefore I don't post a lot. Hehe.

I kill threads. I kill threads when the first post was created by me. That's how much of a thread killer I am. You don't got nothin' on me, man. Just yesterday, in fact, I responded to three threads, and all the activity in all three came to a halt. Boo ya! EDIT: Damn it, omgawd!!

But yeah; sometimes, I'll start to respond to a thread, and then decide that whatever I'm saying is stupid or might be taken the wrong way, so I decide not to respond. And then some times I say "fuck it," and respond anyway. Other times, I see walls of text and my interest dwindles. Still other times, whatever topic it is annoys/disgusts me, and I never intended to respond anyway, but to just look and feel holier than thou. That's how I roll. Anyhoo...

I can be a thread killer, although that's usually down to the fact that by the time I get around to replying, everyone else has lost interest in the thread.

More often then not i'll prefer to just read what others have said instead of posting something, it's a lot easier that way, and when I come up with a reply, i'll be halfway through before thinking 'where the hell am i going with this' before bailing.

I tend to kill threads too. However, I do this purposely, because I'm occasionally a troll, which is probably the reason I got banned from here before.

J/k Athna yeah I have time to think while I am at work so my threads reflect that also I forget easily so I write my thoughts in a note pad otherwise I forget them.

And then I also get my ideas about stuff that people do everyday.

Did you know to be an expert at something to have to rack 10000 hours up doing that thing. That's 1428 days if you were doing that particular thing an average 7 hours a day and about 4 years straight and this doesn't include the learning part.

Nono Ram, You're right. My boss was talking about this theory the day we went out for lunch on my last shift. It's interesting and makes sense. There's a book about it and I can't remember the name. It explains this theory and uses people like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs as examples. Bill Gates was given a computer 'type device' (Probably just your average type writer or the step up from that) when he was little and was able to spend that 10000 hours on it, thus mastering it. If you think about it, I have probably spent that amount of time studying Aviation. I feel knowledgeable about it imo. So this theory does seem pretty true.

Yeah, I've heard the 10000 hour thing before too. A friend was telling me about it when we were talking about learning instruments. I don't spend 7 hours a day playing, though... It's gonna take a long time for me to be an expert bassist.
