    Horses are holding back society.

So I had a revelation not long ago that Horses are holding back the advancement and the prosperity of the entire world.

And I shall inform you all on why below.

Firstly, since the automobile and various other forms of mechanical or practical movement altering things, Horses are no longer needed, an animal without a practical cause, no longer used for transportation, considered ill to eat. What good are they? SO little prepubescent fairies can ride around on them? Pretty sure most kids are terrified.

And yet, after this massive downfall in Horse usage, we are still framing them like crazy, with the average horse farm being almost 100 acres of land.

With this land, after getting rid of the beasts, we could create factories to melt plutonium and cure/cause cancer, bringing third world countrians toa stable income, food, water and shelter, solving poverty.

    ****ING HORSES.

Shall we kill all other animals as they have no use to us MEN ?

    Dogs ? Cats ? rats ? insects ?

Will we always have resources to power automobiles forever??

Not likely, besides, horses create many many jobs still, gambling, sports etc

Your theory is flawed and silly and i want to hurt you with minor pain, like a chinese burn, or tie your shoe laces together whilst not looking.. have at you!

Horses are useful for gambling and sports. But if you think culture is no more needed in this world, then yeah - horses have no use.

What about the Amish/Mennonite communities? Clearly they can't defend one of their only sources of transportation and work tools on the interwebz. Talk about going behind their back. Horses are pretty essential to them and thier culture. If we took them away the whole part of humanity would either die out or get assimilated.

    Poor Amish/Mennonites....

Actually Amish use our technology like internet and cell phones. They are just restricted to use them for important things, like maybe ordering something.

I know this is off topic on the horses thing, but it goes along with Loaf's point.

A few weeks ago, at the newspaper where I work, we got a shipment of fliers for this new store in the area. We were told not to even touch them until the boss told us we could. Anyway, it turns out that the people who had us make the fliers were an Amish family. They were the people who had started up the new store.

So, yes, the Amish use modern technology, it's just that their beliefs restrict their usage of such equipment. They came in with a rough idea for the flier, and we helped them make the finished product. And, luckily, I didn't have to deliver the flier. It is very difficult to get the paper folded just right when there is a flier inside of it.

I don't agree with this, they provide to much enjoyment to people to be holding us back. I guess you don't like horse racing or do I misread you?

Who are you directing your comment at, Judge?

I don't like horse racing, but I accept it as a means of employment and enjoyment for others. You will never see me at Churchill Downs, but I don't care whether other people go or how they choose to spend their money.

Thats okay the Hendra virus will cure your problem Confession do you want some we have it here in Australia.

But with out horses what other means of measurement will we use to measure the astronomical power out put of our humble automobile.

"Hey Bob nice Mustang, whats under the hood?"

"Yeah Jimbo just got it a couple of days ago, she has a beautiful 8 cylinder windsor engine that puts out 1000* dogpower"

"Thats so amazing Bob I wish I had one"

(* I am considering that a dog would put out half a horse worth of power)

You know they're under appreciated. Like a tank, slow but sturdy.

Or Squid, I mean just like cars they squirt oil/ink when they're stressed.
