Habits...

Recentley in the UK a programme/show what ever you wish to call it has been aired called Freak Like Me.
Basically the comedian Russell Kane has found different people from different backgrounds and found out their habits.

Now this really got me thinking because I don't really have any weird or interesting habits just that i like to keep my nails long and do pretty things to them lol (Which comes with an extensive nail polish/care products and quite an expensive the to keep up).

So this also got me thinking about how many of you have any weird/interesting
habits that you're willing to share with us. =D

I bite my nails and the skin around my fingers, I don't just bite them though, I go to town till they are all short and even. I also must have the same number of sent and received messages in my text in box or I delete the whole thing, there must be five sent messages and five received messages. When showering I must rinse the bottle of shampoo before opening it, this goes for conditioner and body wash as well. I smoke and must have a different coloured lighter with me every day. In video games I must always have a multiple of five items in my inventory (40 high potions or 45) never anything else. My last habit that I can think of is that I never stop reading in the middle of a chapter, I must always reach the next chapter before closing the book.

lol indeed? and now that JC's mentioned it, on games like final fantasy i must have a multiple of five for items :3 i smoke to but i want to hear some really really unusual habits ^o^

This freaked me out, because I have always done it, never known why, and never told anyone because I thought I was the only person who did it.

I used to bite my nails, but managed to overcome the habit (addiction is more like it) by not biting one nail, let it grow long, and then build up pride over having a long nail, and then starting the same process on a second nail, until I wasn't biting any of them, and haven't for several years now. My nails still don't look quite right though -- it really is not a good habit to be in.

I've also noticed that when talking to people I'm not entirely comfortable talking to, one-on-one, I stretch and attempt to click my fingers. This is the only time I do it, and I do it for the length of time we are conversing. I only began to notice myself doing it earlier this year.

Oh, I do that too.

I like having figures in multiples of two or five. I irks me when I have an uneven number of something, so it's best if I don't count things lol. In games, I have to have even numbers or multiples of five of whatever I have in my inventory. If I have less than ten, I worry that I'll need more, so I buy more. I also like having the television volume on even numbers - NOT multiple of fives (unless it's a multiple of ten) in this case for some reason.

I always fold up my headphones neatly when I take them off. Even if I'm putting them in my bag or whatever where they're bound to mess up eventually.

We have a chain on our front door which comes in handy if someone is home alone and we get someone knocking on the door. On the wall is a mirror, so you can see who's standing there. Every time I leave the house, I always have a quick look in the mirror. Last minute double check that my skin looks okay, my teeth are clean, and that I don't have toothpaste on my mouth or anything. If I don't look, I feel awkward.

I guess you can also say that I can't leave the house without brushing my teeth. I don't brush my teeth every time I leave, but if my first chore in the morning is to take out the trash, I make sure my teeth are clean before I do so. Most people would just leave it until they've had breakfast or something... and I'll brush my teeth again once I've had breakfast. xD;

Also, I can't sleep most nights unless my feet are sticking out of the covers, and they can't touch each other. My duvet has to be between my feet/calf's in order to be comfortable. I also feel like I need to hug something too, so I just hug the other half of my duvet or pillow.

When I'm in the house alone, I sometimes sing songs from musicals, of course I don't really know quite all of the words to most of these songs, so I hum a lot. No other songs, just ones that have probably at one point been sung on Broadway.*

When I feel nervous I rub my hands a lot, and usually find that they are freezing, followed by the remark, "My hands are bloody freezing!".

I obsessively check my emails, usually at least three times for every hour I'm awake and not tied up. This is even with email software running in the background of my computer to inform me every time I get a new message.

When I'm sitting in the living room (assuming oddly enough, that my mother is also in the room), I fidgit with every small object that my hands can reach and even occasionally make a trip to play with some little trinket. It annoys her so.

Also, sometimes I 'Scottish-up' my accent. I have no clue why.

*But besides what you see, I have confidence in me... Being Straight.

Whenever i play my guitar i like tap the edge of my pick to the body (i think its weird )

Whenever something is falling i have to on reaction put out my arm and catch it. Like even if i know its going to hurt me i caught scissors once Oww.

I also always check the back of my head if a bird flies over me even if i'm in mid conversation.

Ooh and recently i noticed that i never step on a train i press the button to open the door then leap onto it.

The catching of falling objects isn't that strange. I do it all the time, even if it's something that I shouldn't be grasping for... like a scalpel in high school bio class. That one sucked.

The head checking after a bird flies overhead is pretty normal too... especially for anyone who's gotten hit before.

I don't really have any habits that I find too strange. I tend to fall asleep with my hands behind my head, fingers interlocked. My college roomates used to joke that it was I was ready to get head at a moments notice with that pose.

Lol I sometimes do this, It's just comfortable to be fair though, gives your arms a nice stretch =D

Um a wierd habit.... oh, like sometimes when I'm in class or reading something or just sitting around, you know how people put their hands on their chin like they're holding their face up? Yeah I do that, but when I do it, I either pull the collar over my chin and then put my hand there, or if I have a hoodie on, I'll use that too. I never think about it but my dad gives me crap for it all the time.

I also have this wierd habit of getting drunk after drinking alcohol, who would of thunk it right?

ALSO, sometimes when I get drunk, I like to get on here and be goofy/say stupid stuff I'll regret or be embarassed about in the morning. It's a bad habit because I hear (never experienced it before thank God ) that people have been IP banned for stuff like that before... ISN'T THAT RIGHT PETE?!

When I can feel plaque on my teeth and if I am in public or somewhere where I can't brush them, I have to scratch off the plaque.. it bugs me. I always have to take a nap after my nightly bath.... Strange that you mention that, on the programme i was watching that made me set up this thread there was a women who still did and had never stopeed, although it made her to like curve round sort of and there was an imprint of her thumb on the roof of her mouth =/

Same here with the tv volume and things in my inventory in games xD I'm like it with everything. If Im having summat to eat, I like to have even numbers of things. I even go as far as alternating the sides I eat on so its not all one sided. Im such a weirdo ]:
