I have part of my hair past my eyes and wear mostly Volcom/Kiaeneto. Guess I'm gonna be judged hard by people in society now.
EDIT: Because you guys are all dumb (fo real), I will repeat what Jin tried to say, which is Goth =/= Emo =/= Scene.
"Scene" kids go for shock value yes, but aren't /wrists or anything of that type. (usually unless they're a ruhtard and don't know what they are, which if they're under 17 its quite a possibility this could be true) These scenesters appreciate music and know their shit to a certain degree and are loyal to a few specific genres which mostly happen to be indie, hardcore stuff of which they dress to exemplify. I'd say it would be hard to pin down a certain style of dress for a "scene" person which could cause a general confusion for all those misinformed. For example, I've often been labeled a scene type because of my hair/clothing choices along with my taste in music, but I scoff at this because I simply am not at all, I just have tastes that cater to their group I guess lol. Anywho, it's hard to label a scene person, but they're mostly all chill (minus a few immature/dumb kids but what group doesn't have those people rite?) so don't hate on em without knowing what you are disliking, kthx.
(It would be hard to label what "scene" people listen to because they're musical taste is varied compared to the other two groups.)
Emo: I like what an Emo kid is summed up as in urbandictionary. "Like a Goth, only much less dark and much more Harry Potter." Not 100% accurate but enough to get a general discription. What would be on an ipod of an Emo kid? Mostly darker alternative stuff like Dashboard Confessional, MCR, Bullet For My Valentine, Taking Back Sunday, stuff that expresses self-loathing and is something to listen to while being depressed to help out the self-pity. Yeah I'm not a big fan of Emos because the clique of people in general are very self-absorbed and pessimistic (which is mostly due to them being a younger agegroup of people in general and that's how most teens normally act so I can kinda see where they are coming from.), however there are a few exceptions.
Goth: Much darker and more omnicidal then our fellow Emo friends, these people are influenced from the nu metal era from bands of the 80s (yes Goth has been around much longer than Scene/Emo trends g'day sir) such as Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, and more recently have influences from Nirvana, Slipknot, Cradle of Filth, etc. I don't know a whole lot about them tbh, but they're probably a lot more mature then Emos.
I have no idea what a Chav is so I won't even try to answer that question.
In conclusion, get informed before you throw out labels and look like a jackass. Also, a lot of stupid kids that may irritate you try to fit into these groups and if that's their thing, then hey great for them, no need to hate a whole group about it though lol.
You're all ****ing welcome. Now I gotta straighten out my hair with my iron for a wedding![]()
