The worst thing about country music is when it gets maudlin. Tuesday's Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd is a good example (not to imply anything bad about it as a song, in fact I am saying that it does its job too well), and it's not even as much sad power as some of the stuff I've heard you know. Emo people think they know sad, country is the master of sad.

Country sad is just too sad. Too too sad, Waaaaaay too sad. It is drink a fifth of bourbon sad.

I tend to prefer peppy acts who have upbeat songs I really have had just about enough sentimentality to last me 1,000,000,000 lifetimes.

This makes my Screen Name kind of appropriate in a way that I've never until now thought about.
