I'm not quite sure what you mean by your statement that I "take offense to the terms 'perfect' and 'imperfect'." I just don't believe that they exist. People say that we can't be perfect because 'this' is flawed. True. But if flaws exist, then it should be possible to at least imagine a perfect human. Then it reaches eugenics and Nazism.
Perfection is meant to be desirable, right? Given the choice between supposed perfection and imperfection, we would choose the former. So if perfection exists (and if you establish that human flaws exist, then perfection must too), then we should take steps to approach it. But what does this entail?
I agree that personal perfection exists. To me, getting good grades is better (closer to perfection) to getting bad grades. To others, maybe something else is important. On a holistic level, there is no way to decide, and we shouldn't attempt to.
