Recently got Fall Out Boy's Infinity on High and Kate Miller-Heidke's Little Eve. Good albums, both of them.

Got the platinum of both, so lots of extra tracks and stuff. Yay.

I bought Minus the Bear's Highly Refined Pirates not too long ago. It should be renamed to Highly Refined Awesome; it's that great. I bought Jamiroqaui's Syncronized last week. I can't find a single dud track on it.

Well, except Butterfly, but only just.

I just got The Black Stars' new EP Money Or Your Life in the post today. Four songs and an intro track at the very beginning, but I've liked all I heard on it. It's some good Australian rock.

I got the Bouncing Souls' Maniacal Laughter and the Squirrels' Best of album ('Scrapping for Hits,' or something like that).

The Bouncing Souls album is only like 22 minutes long. I like it, though. Fun stuff. I only got it for 6 bucks, too, so that was a good deal, I suppose.

I'd only heard one song by the Squirrels prior to getting their album, so it was a bit of a leap of faith. As far as I'm concerned, it paid off; they're right up my ally. Very goofy and random. They do a country cover of the Beatles' "Let It Be." Actually, they do a lot of covers, and a some originals, as far as I can tell (or at least most their hits seem to have been covers of some kind.) They're still fun, though. Anyhoo...

I just picked up the Lost in Translation soundtrack. I have always liked the music from the movie, and I saw the CD cheap, so I went ahead and got it. I really enjoy it, but there are a lot of really bad omissions. I guess I have to buy those individual CD's.

Last one I bought was Phantom of the Opera. And no, I didn't get the movie soundtrack. I got the one with Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford because that one's sung by way better singers. Although, I prefer Gerard Butler's voice for the phantom over Michael Crawford's voice, but Michael can sing better.

This is for musics you have recently bought, as opposed to downloaded. Feel free to comment on others, as well. Yesterday I picked up

    Across the Universe OST

    Stupid Dream - Porcupine Tree
It took me long enough, but I bought it

A couple of friends and I went to a noise show last Saturday. I ended up buying Monster Sized Monster's "Genius!!!" cd. The guy, Rusty Anderson, is a really cool guy, and he came up from St. Louis do do a show in Milwaukee. Check out his myspace ( www.myspace.com/monstersizedmonster ). The cd is really good. Harsh noise. Plus, it was $5. Not bad!

Well, I download most of my music, anyway. Just downloaded Baby Got Back.

I think the last CD(s) I bought was on Boxing Day with my Christmas money; Pigeon Detectives, Editors, The Enemy.

    This just in from Play-Asia:

Original soundtracks for the following games:
    Xenogears
    Digital Devil Saga 1&2
    Lost Odyssey
Final Fantasy IV DS (will arrive Thu/Fri)

I import most of my music, though I certainly hit up the CD retailers from time to time.

What the hell? I wouldn't even call that music, or anything WORTH listening to. That hurt... a lot. I got all excited when I read he was from St. Louis, too.

Anyways, the last CD I obtained was....

    http://www.amazon.com/Mothership-2CD...6516544&sr=8-1

<3 Zeppelin. 90% of the songs on that CD are way better than Stairway, for those that never listened to Zeppelin outside of maybe Stairway and/or Immigrant Song (Seems to be the only 2 that anyone ever seems to know) I'd suggest picking it up to get a good glimpse of what Zeppelin had to offer during the years they were together.

    Cue the jealousy from me.

But my last CD was actually a wall hanging display of Kurt Cobain with an album and single cd set into the display. I'd check on the CD and single, but it's hanging up in my room .
I'm pretty sure the single is Heart Shaped Box... ><

Eh, noise is one of those things you either get or you don't. I'm not surprised you don't like it. Art is subjective though, so something you think isn't worth listening to gives me an erection. (Just a note. It doesn't actually give me an erection.)

Well, I didn't buy any of these cd's, but one of my friends did, and gave them to me to import:

Dawn of the Deli Creeps- The Deli Creeps. The Deli Creeps are known for their young, talented guitar player. Who is it? I'll give you a hint. He wears a mask. And a bucket on his head. **** it. It's Buckethead. Great CD, though.

Grinderman- Grinderman. I'm not usually into Nick Cave stuff, but Grinderman is different. It's good.

John Zorn- The Dreamers. Though this should probably be under his Electric Masada stuff. The lineup is basically the same. Joey Baron, Trevor Dunn, and Marc Ribot, plus others whose names escape me, and I'm too lazy to wikipedia it. Anyway, the music is a lot like EM, good jazz.

A Perfect Place Soundtrack- Mike Patton. Recently released short film that Patton scored. Pretty good, lots of Zorn influence.

Peter J. Woods- The Desert Holds Nothing. Formerly Raperies (Like Draperies). Brutal noise.

    Charlie J. Moneybags- More noise.

I recently bought Hunky Dory by David Bowie. I had downloaded it ages ago, but the sound quality was draining on my ability to listen to it.

    Avenged Sevenfold - Selftitled

At the moment, it's my favourite album and I'm really glad that I bought it. It has the most character of all they're albums so far, well, in my opinion anyway. My favourite song off there is 'Afterlife', though I do love 'A Little Piece Of Heaven' and 'Almost Easy'.

A Little Piece Of Heaven is about a guy who murders his girlfriend because she says no to his marriage proposal, and then she comes back from the dead and kills him too. Then they get married in hell and start killing people in the real world. And it's fictional, of course.

    See, I think that's pretty funny^.

I bought two CD's today. The first was the new Raconteurs CD, Consolers of the Lonely. So far, I enjoy it, but it isn't anything special. I also bought the Bedlam in Goliath by the Mars Volta. I am seeing them live tomorrow, so I want to be up on my stuff.

  23. #353
Lets see I believe that the last CD that I bought is NOW 24 or Queens Greatest Hits. I don't know. Either way they are good CDs. NOW 24 has got some good songs on it.

I bought Robert Plant's "Zen and Now" CD from 1988 because I had heard the song Ship of Fools and decided I wanted the album.

I also recently acquired 3 MC Chris albums, Dungeon Master of Ceremonies, Eating's Not Cheating, and Knowing is Half the Hassle. Kind of hit or miss, but after watching the Aqua Teen movie I decided I wanted some MC Chris.

CD sale at MSOE on Sunday. I picked up:

    Neptune-Gong Lake
The Mackrosoft- Antonio's Giraffe (Skerik plays sax on it)
    Karp- Suplex

I've only listened to the Karp cd. It's great though.

    Nick Drake - Pink Moon

Excellent, and only makes me want to hear more of his laid back, poetic tunes. Not half as depressing as I'd expected, given how he ended it and all. Highly recommended.

PJ Harvey - Uh Huh Her

Title says it all, really. Haven't listened to it enough yet to really get a handle on it - largely abrasive mishmash of cool noises, one of those CDs you need to listen to a few times to get on a level pegging with. Features one track which is just seagulls going mental. Also, she'll play something which sounds like an excellent intro, you start to picture how the rest of the song will go, and then it ends...25 seconds in.

    Acquired taste, I think, PJ.

I just have to say that Nick Drake is awesome. Great choice.

Anyway, I went on a CD buying binge today.

The Mad Caddies- Rock the Plank.
Big D and the Kids Table-Strictly Rude
    Reel Big Fish- Cheer Up!
    Reel Big Fish- Everything Sucks
    Skankin' Pickle- The Green Album
The Decemberists- Her Majesty The Decemberists

The Decemberists are always awesome. I was listening to Skankin' Pickle, and it's pretty good. I didn't realize at first it was a cover album, so I'll have to look more into their original stuff. As you can tell, I'm starting to stock up on ska.

I finished my Mars Volta collection, picking up Frances the Mute and Amputechture. Man oh man they are such good CD's. I loved Frances the Mute on first listen, but I had to listen to Amputechture twice to appreciate it. It is still my least favorite, but still amazing.

The last Album I bought was Serj Tankian's "Elect the dead." For those who don't know Serj is the lead singer of the band called "System of a down." I really enjoyed this solo album of his, and I can't wait for System of a down's new album in 2010.

Oooh 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' by the Arctic Monkeys. I never much cared for them but I saw the CD while I was away and thought I'd give it a whirl. I really sort of like them now.

Teddy Picker and Brianstorm are fantastic songs.
