My music tastes haven't really changed, just expanded. I like more or less everything - I never, ever warm to to RnB, Screamers or Garage.
I still like everything I've ever liked. I wasn't really into anything when I was a youngster. I liked S Club, but everything else was decided for me by mum or dad, as most of the music I listened to was in the car when I obviously wasn't allowed to ride shotgun. There was a lot of Natalie Imbruglia, Prodigy, Brittany Spears, Human League, Lighthouse Family, Sting and Fatboy Slim. The top three songs I'll always remember from my childhood are:
SPOILER!!:
Up until the release of Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy, my music tastes was pretty much that, plus I'd developed a taste for Eminem and D12 due to people at school too. Anyway, it was through playing Fahrenheit that I'd discovered my favourite band, Theory of a Deadman. I've played that game to death, and never got tired of it. Then I got the CDs, and played them to death and never got tired of it.
That was also about the same time I got the internet, so I had a place to listen to music properly and find more bands to listen to. When I'd met my best friend back in 2006, I picked up some of her music tastes and I started listening to less "cheerful" sounding stuff. Mum has never really liked rock, metal or alternative, and it took her years of me listening to Evanescence for her to get used to it and like it more. I started listening to 3 Doors Down, Finger Eleven, then eventually Disturbed and the like.
Lately, despite me hating the indie culture, I have grabbed a taste for it. And lots of game soundtracks.
Btw, I've listed bands instead of genres out of fear of sounding like an idiot and labelling things wrong. x3;;
EDIT: And believe it or not, I actually like Cheryl Cole's music now. I didn't see that coming. >>;
