Server Maintenance come Wednesday and Extended Free Trial
In the wake of the server troubles, Square Enix and Yoshida talked about the work they are doing to fix things for players struggling to log in as well as compensate players for the troubles. The server maintenance to increase the number of worlds is going to occur on Wednesday, barring any unforeseen troubles. He said that they have been seeing over 230,000 users concurrently connecting to their servers.
Additionally, on Wednesday once everything is finished he said they will confirm the seven day extra to the free trial extended to all users currently signed up for the game. They will not confirm it is happening now, probably because if things take longer the extension might be increased. So wait until the maintenance is complete before looking for the extension.
