Favourite Party Character from VII?

Alright guys and gals, i haven't seen a recent thread of this so i thought i would post one up. Out of all nine party characters in the game, who was your favourite? Which one did you feel a connection with?

My answer would probably be Cloud, although i did have a connection with the other characters. However, Cloud's struggle to discover who he truly was was what made the character for me, especially as i was at that early age where i myself was trying to discover who i am.

I had to go with Vincent on this one, even though he is a little hard to obtain into your part, I think it's worth it, I love his story, his attacks, and his mysterious nature. I also think he has some of the most interesting dialogue in the game..the kind that really makes you think about what he is saying, I also think he is a moving character because you can plainly see his inner struggle throughout the game.

I would have to say RED he was my strongest apart from Cloud of course but I also made the mistake of not utilizing all the characters example Vincent I think I only got two of his limit breaks.

It was my very first FF game so I didn't realise I would need all of them towards the end.
That was my biggest regret.

Well, in battles I definitely prefer Cloud. He always, except in a certain stage, was a part of the party, so I always gave him the best materia and he always was higher in level than others, not a great difference, but still. The other characters that I prefer using are Cid, Vincent, Tifa and Barret.

If you are asking who is my favourite character in general, well that needs some deep analysis lol. I would vote for Cloud in this one, but the only time I really connected with him is when he was trying to find himself in his subconsciousness, before that he was just 'normal' for me.

Battle wise, I'd choose Cloud...in regards to actual characters, I voted for Cid...he's just a guy chasing for his dreams and won't take sh*$ from anybody, and that's what I love about him. I guess my top 3 would be...Cloud, Red XIII and Cid

I would have to say Cloud, because I could kind of relate to him at times. Although he could be a jerk, I atill love him the way he is, and hope that nothing will change out of him.

Overall its Cloud for me..I teared up when I found him at Mideel in that state.. He is the main character after all and an awesome one at that.

Dialogue wise - I love Vincent n his philosophical views*cough*sexiness*cough*..My fave quotes:

Vincent: " Escape from a world of illusions...Hmph...I wonder which is better.."

" Too much hope is the opposite of despair... An overpowering love may consume you in the end."
(baha that applies to HIM shutting himself from the world for decades over that dumb whore. Vincent's too sweet for his own good)

and lastly Tifa- She's strong, versatile and is connected with every major character in the FFVII plot-Cloud, Zack and Sephiroth, the Burning of Nibelheim where it all started bla bla bla so hearing her input was important to me to gain a better understanding of the FFVII story as she was there first hand. Her limit break is awesome you can get about 7+ hits in one turn without having to worry bout getting Gameover (Ruby&Emerald Weapon. ...T__T...). How she stayed n watched over Cloud n helped him regain his sanity completely endeared me to her. God I love that bitch

Who was my favorite? The guy who used Lunatic High, duh! Best limit break ability in the game when it came to taking down the Weapons.

Vincent Valentine. Man of few words, though nothing like that asshole Cloud. I love his backstory, calm personality, and that mysterious air around him. I also like Tifa, I find her to be brave, gorgeous, and goodhearted.

Vincent has the best back story I feel of not just any VII character, but any FF character in general. he has always been my favorite character. I always get him, and always use him in my parties.

Tifa without a doubt. Her faithfulness to Cloud was so enduring and their love story was one of my favorite parts of the story. It's too bad Avent Children ruined the game's story imo, so I pretend it doesn't exist. (Japanese pop culture is the downfall of the FF series. It was much better before they started pandering to the preteen fangirls, I swear)

Besides Tifa, Cid was my second favorite. Despite all the complicated things going on around him, he never changed and kept true to himself. Oh, and his story with Shera made me tear up when he found out about the faulty oxygen tank.

I voted for Cloud. He is simply more interesting than the other characters, battle wise and personality wise. Once you see his full evolution s a character, there is no way you cannot be connected to the character forever. This includes him in Advent Children. What a guy, huh? haha

I have always liked Barret. Hard exterior, soft as marshmallow on the inside. His past would break many people, but he continues on to protect those he cares about. While his Lvl4 Limit can be random when it comes to hitting smaller enemies, his attack damage is powerful and can often be placed in the back row so he only receives half physical damage. I give him many command materia and try not to overload him with other that reduces his physical stats, outside of the Restore-All combo and magic that gives status effects like Poison and Contain materia.

I had to go on Yuffie, I really do love Cloud and Nanaki, but she is cute, and though I hate her stealing my Materia along the game, I like her and her appearence

Tifa because she's brave, strong and tough. Not to mention she really cares for all of the FF VII gang and she shows her love and support for them. I also love the promise she made to Cloud about how she wanted her hero to save her again, like a knight in shining armour. So adorable.

Aerith, she's so cute, yet also determined and loyal to Cloud, despite the ever-present danger to her life. Gameplay wise, she's the glue that holds my party together, you just have to love Healing Winds.

Definitely Tifa. Good looking, charming, and I thought her limit breaks were pretty awesome as well.

I'm not surprised so many people like Vincent, and he has always been my favorite! I guess there's something about finding an enigmatic gunslinger holed up in the basement of an abandoned mansion that is just too alluring to resist.

Tough choice. Several years ago I would've said Tifa or Yuffie, and I still love them. Tifa for her stubborn innocence and...aesthetic reasons, Yuffie for rebelling against her repressive culture and being her own person.

But now I'd say Cid. He's tough as nails, says what he thinks, doesn't take crap from anyone and isn't afraid to reach for his dreams. Even though years of disappointments have hardened him into a verbally abusive nicotine addict, you can't help rooting for him.

I always thought of Aeris as not too appealing of a character to use because the tragedy at the hands of the One Winged Angel and how you don't get to use her past disc 1. About two years ago, after some time leveling her up , I have discovered that she, IMO, is the BEST support character in the game. Her limits are far superior to anyone that I would see using (besides Cloud) after disc 1, namely Great Gospel, Fury Brand, and not to mention Seal Evil to stop enemy magic!

Character wise, I had appreciation for Aeris' character and respect for her role in the story. Aeris was a great mystery being unraveled in the beginning as she didn't know anything about her past. I did feel bad for her death, and she will be in my prayers in the FF7 realm.
